    Default The gift of game!

Christmas is upon us so I am wondering what games or game related gifts people got this year if any.

I received Assassin's Creed for the Xbox from my parents and Chrono Trigger for the DS from my little sister. I also now have a copy of Nights into dreams. I bought it for my younger brother but I guess the idiot sold his Wii a couple months ago and didn't tell anyone about it.

I got Rock Band 2 for Xbox 360 and Far Cry 2 for PC, and my brother got mortal kombat vs dc universe. Most of my christmas stuff was spent on upgrading my computer, so i didn't get many games.

It seems I got no games this Christmas. Last one, I got Chocobo Tales for Nintendo DS from my mother. I still haven't finished it, so perhaps there isn't need for any new games. I bought Wii on October, anyways.

I finally got Fallout 3. I'm thinking of making three files: my current nice guy file, a Ned Flanders file, and a Satanspawn file.

    Hi-diddly ho, Vaultarino!

I got Fallout 3 too, it's currently installing. I also got Left 4 Dead, however, it's for the wrong platform (I actually wanted it on PC) so I'm going to exchange it for the PC version soon.

Have fun with Assassin's Creed Pants. It's a good game, however it is a tad repetitive and the cut-scenes are incredibly annoying, long, pointless and boring, but I suppose you'll find that out soon. It's good though, worth sticking out with until the end.

    OVERRULED.

I just nuked Megaton and got me a master suite in Tenpenny's fortress, and then I shot him and Burke for the lulz.

God, I love the Fallout series...

Ghost: Thanks for that tip. I'll see if the store can exchange it for a similar worth game then and then I can save the money by buying L4D on the cheap.

Fallout 3 is awesome, once I finally got it installed. Not a problem with the game, turns out one of my sticks of RAM was faulty but I managed to repair it, so woo. I'm currently playing as a classy gent who isn't averse to a bit of rough and tumble: basically, this means I always try and stay on a woman's good side, whereas a man who asks me to perform a less than savoury request may find themselves on the receiving end of a head shot. A good example is in Megaton when a guy in a classy suit asks me to help blow up Megaton; I blew his brains out, then stole his suit and hat, since I needed a classy suit. Bonus!

I seduced him and made him leave, and then I tattled on him to the mayor so I never saw him again. I wish I wouldve stolen his classy suit :<

Anyway I got Sims2 Apt living from my lil bro, pretty fun so far (they brought back magic yay!) although I had my heart set on Rock Band 2. Oh well my birthday is in about 4 months

I'm actually really loving the openness of the game; you can murder whoever the hell you want, as long as you can deal with the consequences. I've yet to meet a character who I couldn't kill permanently yet. I'm hoping it stays that way.

So far, my only gripe with the game is how slow and barren it is compared to the previous installments. Travelling between settlements used to be as easy as "Put it on the map (or don't) and randomly click Direction A until you find it." Here, you have to walk - pretty slowly, I might add - to wherever you wanna go before that sort of 'auto-travel' ability is allowed. Just walking from Megaton to Tenpenny took me a good ten minutes, and on the way there, the only interesting things that happened were running into a few wild dogs. Suck. I wanna fight giant bugs and raid caravans, not play Moses.

If only I could find a quick-and-easy way to get some heavy-duty weaponry and armor, then I'd be happy. In the meantime, I'm stuck playing the 'right way.'

I think the reason for this is that, unlike Oblivion, there aren't any real dungeons where the real baddies are, and in fact it is the wasteland that you have to contend with in order to do anything. It would make the game incredibly easy if you could just skip everywhere just like that. Thankfully they do allow you to fast-travel once you have been to the location.

I found the game picks up very quickly in momentum. The first few missions I found you can easily fend off a few wild beasties. Now every time I set off to find new places, raiders and giant mutants with gatling lasers keep spawning and running at me. Hilariously, near the end of one mission, I emerged from a Subway station and there were a pack of mercenaries there. We had a brief parlay and I discovered that someone had put a price on my head. Then they murdered me. When I reloaded, they weren't there, so now I'm hoping I don't run into them again until I have the skill and firepower to repel them.

I had a funny moment earlier today: as I was carefully going through a subway, a raider came from out of nowhere and was running straight at me, but not firing at me. I aimed my laser and took his head clean off with one shot. The reason he was running came apparent: a bunch of feral ghouls were chasing him, and I had to decapitate all of those as well. I love how these events are seemingly unscripted; I saw two Brotherhood Outcasts die just because the car they were standing next to blew up for no reason. Brilliant.

Got Sonic Unleashed for Christmas this year; didn't plan on getting it, but still not complaining for a go-around with that lovable old hedgehog once again. Hear the werewolf segments are groan-worthy, but the rest is golden. I'll settle for that.

On the delivering segment, got my girlfriend a DS with Brain Training 1 & 2, plus (pat on the back for this one) Kirby Super Star - having loved this game on the SNES, it's nice to be able to pass on the magic some 12 years later... is this game really that old??

If you want some serious firepower early in game, go east from megaton as if your trying to get to rivet city. When your in the DC wasteland you may come across an NPC called a scavenger, since I sneak everywhere he didnt see me and I thought he was like a raider so I headshotted him. I didnt realise he was good until he died and I lost karma so I felt bad---until I opened him up and found all kinds of bad ass weapons, armor you name it So if you dont mind the bad karma pop a cap in a scavenger and reap the rewards!

I tattled on the Mr.Burke and me and the sherriff went to get him, and unsuspectedly when the sheriff turned around to bring him to prison Mr.Burke capped him with a Silenced Pistol and started shooting me. I blew his brains out with a sawed off shotgun and took his suit and the silenced pistol he had ))

Then I proceeded to strip the sherriff of his chinese AK and his bad ass hat. I felt bad though, his son is now an orphan.

And btw, I diffused the bomb in megaton and I got a house there.

My story in Megaton is just like Ghosts except after Mr. Burke killed the sheriff he told me I was gonna pay for what I did and turned around and started to walk away. I think pulled out my gun and shot him in the back of the head. He sure showed me!

Drago, what version of Sonic did you get? The Wii version or PS3/Xbox? I heard the Wii version is better compared to the other two.

Wii version, but still haven't had a chance to play it to confirm nor deny. (11th straight shift last night, only three more to go!)

"Animal Crossing: City Folk" and a R.O.B. (Both were before Christmas, but they're considered presents by us.)
