English Course Material Needed

I go to this English course once a week and the teacher said we can use internet for material. So I asked the teacher if we can use message board posts as material! She gave me a permission, so this is a topic where you can propose what TPM posts I could use. Simply quote or point out a post or a thread you think would serve the purpose. Two aspects here:

1) The post should be intersting in the grammatical point of view. It might have various skilfully used constructions or even have some common errors.

AND/OR

2) It could have something to do with foreign cultures (i.e. the USA and such are foreign from the Finland point of view) and foreign countries. Or all-round education in general. Like the effect of the greenhouse phenomenon or something.

Aside from these two points, there may be also other reasons to choose a certain post or thread. So tell your opinion here.

What would you be using the material for? in that I mean what kind of assignment are you doing?

Maybe try something in a misc thread? If you sift through the flame wars in some of the more political topics, you can find some posts where people write very strong opinion pieces that could be a decent text to look at.

Alternatively, maybe a non-Pokemon based e-zine article would meet the criteria, or even a chapter of a fic? It depends what exactly you're looking for.

Yeah, I was kind of under the impression that you were leading toward option #1, not both of them combined. ^_^;;

Foreign culture: Try the recent Presidential Election topics (both the primaries and the general election). You might also sift through the Daily News thread, as it also has a lot of links to interesting stuff.

Grammar: Um... offhand, LTL?

Does it also have to be from aprevious thread, or a brand new thread which suspiciously shows up the same time you need one for your assignment.

Thanks for your interest, guys! It isn't actually an assignment, I just want some extra material, and TPM posts are something only I can bring. What's more, the other students except one girl are quite old, to say. So they don't have so much experience on the internet, so it's something new to them. I know they are learning though, at least some of them.

The thread can be topical or it can be older, and the presidental election topic could be what we're looking for. And since Russia is Finland's neighbouring country, what do you think of The Russia/Georgia Conflict?

I'll print the posts, the teacher will take copies for the students and we'll go it through together, if I have understood correctly.
