Default POLL: Animes, Mangas, Games VERSION 4

I hope you aren't fed up with these yet. Again, you must tell your opinion on the series I have chosen. You may also skip those which you don't know of. I decided to include the first version this time, too, in case you missed it or if your opinions have changed.

    VERSION 1
    VERSION 2
    VERSION 3

    ^ Don't reply those!

    1. Pokemon
    2. Digimon
    3. Sailor Moon
    4. Yu-Gi-Oh!
    5. Naruto
    6. Dragonball
    7. Super Mario
    8. Final Fantasy
    9. The Sims
    10. Zelda
    11. Crash Bandicoot
    12. Tekken

    And then the new ones:

    37. One Piece
    38. Strawberry Panic
    39. Full Metal Panic
    40. Ghost In The Shell
    41. Spriggan
    42. Cardcaptor Sakura
    43. Oddworld
    44. Bomberman
    45. Dead Or Alive
    46. Mortal Kombat
    47. Quake
    48. Runescape

OK, here are the ones I have something new to say:

    1. Pokemon
My interest has had its ups and downs, but it introduced anime to me and has a place in my heart. No other concept has had such a big effect on me. As far as anime seasons are concerned, I think only Hoenn was overrated. Sinnoh rules and so do the new Pokemon!!

    6. Dragonball
As for manga, I used to prefer the original Dragonball to Dragonball Z but now I like Dragonball Z more. No matter how bloody it became. Anyway, I wouldn't call myself a fan. I just can't watch the show, it's so boring in my opinion.

    5. Naruto
I like it. Ingenious plot twists, great humour and original ideas like the final question of the written part of the Chuunin Exam. I'm currently reading the manga and have bought some DVDs with 'offical' Finnish subtitiles. Sometimes there's so much blood but more brutal animes do exist.

    8. Final Fantasy
OK, have currently had to choose between this and Pokemon. And I choose you! Pokemon! That being said, I think I still have used most of my life playing Final Fantasy VII and don't deny I love it. The music is one reason. But I understand even those who think these games are confusing, time-wasting and ugly.

    The new ones:

    37. One Piece
A shounen series with no power levels or chakra. What’s the fun with than then?

    38. Strawberry Panic
Mmm, I’m curious about Yuri but no change to read it yet. I have heard that the anime isn’t so good.

    39. Full Metal Panic
Why not? Mech anime, but haven’t watched a single ep yet.

    40. Ghost In The Shell
Only played the videogame demo through. The girl (was she named Kusanagi) was sexy though.

    41. Spriggan
I decided to include some movies too. This adventure dealing with Noah’s Ark is interesting to watch and has some notable characters. The Mandarin Chinese outro rules too.

    42. Cardcaptor Sakura
Just watched the movie. Liked the drawing style, and I kinda was able to keep up with the story. Still something was missing.

    43. Oddworld
Played the first Abe games for Playstation 1. I rescued all the 99 Mudokons in Abe’s Oddysee, but I haven’t had a functioning copy of Abe’s Exoddus. These games are beautifully animated and have original ideas like possessing the monsters.

    44. Bomberman
Place 10 bombs in a row and see how much I love the old Bomberman World multiplayer mode for Playstation 1. This game alone was enough reason to buy a multi-tap and some extra controllers. Single-player game isn’t so good.

    45. Dead Or Alive
Girl panties. I haven’t played the ones for X-Box too much, I should buy X-Box 360 one day, but.

    46. Mortal Kombat
I’m not familiar with these great series. I believe some of the games rule without trying, except for the pathetic Mortal Kombat Mythologies.

    47. Quake
II and III were great multiplayer fun, thanks for the interesting weapon selection, funny voice effects and stuff. I just bought Quake Wars for Playstation 3 but that was a disappointment. No two-player mode without internet and the idea of making it war doesn’t suit me.

    48. Runescape
I’ll never play this. I just can’t play internet games, I have better things to do online.

Default Re: POLL: Animes, Mangas, Games VERSION 4

Fun note: I've replied to each one of these so far. Keepin' the streak alive!

    40. Ghost In The Shell
Limited knowledge. Might've glanced at the anime a wee bit years back. My biggest exposure to it was in a Playstation demo. There wasn't a whole lot to do in it, but I loved the way the machine thingamee controlled; crawling up walls was superbly cool. I miss those Playstation demos - I actually spent a fair amount of time on those things...

    42. Cardcaptor Sakura
Another important step in Cartoon Network gaining a stranglehold on children's television by adding to the anime bandwagon - a process I never even notice happening back in, what... 2000? I never watched it - not enough hitting and yelling, which is what the boys want.

    43. Oddworld
Another game that my experience revolves solely on demo. It creeped me out a little back when I tried it then (my 2D platforming experience up to that point had only been of the G-rated kind; having all these concepts of gore and pseudo-cannibalism wasn't my cup of tea. Though I did enjoy it a bit more when I discovered that I could possess enemies. And then I could make them yell! Yay!

    44. Bomberman
Never owned it as a wee sprat, but rented a game on SNES and was quite fond of it - had some adventure-type plot as they usually do, but seemed pretty exciting at the time. I also remember being in awe of the concept that it could hold... four players. FOUR PEOPLE PLAYING AT ONCE?? THAT'S MADNESS!! (I never got the chance to try 4-player SNES gaming. )
Nowadays I play the Turbografx Bomberman on the virtual console (which is serviceable) and Bomberman Blast from Wiiware, which I feel offers everything that a B-man game should. Plus Miis! I love Miis.

    45. Dead Or Alive
Yet again, PS demo. Decided Lei Fang was absolute sex. I played that demo. A lot.
Later, DOA2 became the second PS2 game I ever owned. It became a nice change to play it for actual gameplay purposes. I mean, Lei Fang's still mai biotch, but I'm more inclined to lay in some gut punches as Bayman.

    46. Mortal Kombat
Played it here and there through the years, it's never been a favourite but it's usually a purchase consideration each generation - I actually own four of them (both SNES and Genesis versions of #3, since the latter died a few years after purchase second-hand). I felt like Deadly Alliance contained enough content and gameplay options for it to become the MK staple, so I haven't been too inclined to get any since.

    47. Quake
Back when PC gaming was a foreign concept to me (and other than WoW, it still is), this was one of my first opportunities to try out the shooter cheats (god mode, unlimited ammo and the like)... I liked running through lava and living to tell the tale.
