I'm gonna start with an acquired Pokémon from a little while ago, Andrew's old OzStar (Starmie).

Star, this is your first time battling for me so let's make it a good one. Start with a Cosmic Power, then hit it with a Water Pulse and a Power Gem.

===Round 1===

Here we are, ready to start 2010 off strong. Wolfsong seems ready to start the New Year off right, with a nice powerful battle to challenge the wit and resolve her opposition. The opponent, this time is Virtual Play, and both start this fight with fully evolved Pokemon.

Horatio, a massive Arcanine, stares down OzStar, the floating ninja star. Both seem to size each other up, and OzStar starts to glean with a mystical energy that shrouds over its body. Horatio disproves of this and fires off a small blast of fire that strikes the star. It burns, it burns.

OzStar rotates enough to generate lift and begins to zip around the arena. Horatio keeps his eyes on the jeweled echinoderm, and begins to shimmer with a glow. OzStar flies over and fires a Pulse of Water. The water that strikes Horatio however, is significantly weakened, due to the heightened temperature in the surrounding enviornment.

OzStar notices the Sunny disposition, and seems to disapprove.

Horatio now goes on the offensive, lunging up at the airborne opponent. OzStar wasn't quite expecting that and was crunched on by electric fangs. Within the jaws of Horatio though, OzStar was quick to fire off a hefty sized rock-shaped blast, that slammed Horatio's nose. The hound dropped OzStar immediately and backed away.

OsStar hopped up on its legs, and ran back. That electric shock did NOT feel nice.

===Round 2===

Horatio takes note of the warm light beaming down, and uses that to his advantage. A massive charge of green and white light began to coalesce around the Arcanine, and OzStar spins backwards in fright. That echidnoderm quickly revolves around itself, bending light in such a way that when the beam fires, it crashes into this makeshift buffer of sorts. OzStar is still hit, but the damage is considerably weakened.

Gladly unphazed by that attack, OzStar is quick to now assess its own bodily wounds. That burn was aggravating, and so it took the time to refresh itself. In no time at all, the burn was alleviated from its system.

Precautionary measures were the name of Horatio's game. Being left alone allowed the maned beast to call upon mystical energies to veil him for any and all status afflictions that might come flying his way this battle.

Both feeling better about themselves, the battle commenced. Horatio called upon mystic energies once more, creating himself to be a nucleus for strange lavender orbiting spheres of pure energy. They slammed into OzStar as a Hydro Pump of weakened proportions fired and struck Horatio.

The lavender spheres had a sickly quality to them.

The sunlight beaming down gave Horatio a great idea. He decided to split his odds against this watery foe. However, OzStar had a different idea. It began to spin and soon began to shrink down to a smaller size.

Horatio didn't really notice, as he was too busy splitting into 3 clones.

Feeling good so far, Horatio and his crew take a good look at OzStar. OzStar spins around a bit, before hovering up high enough to fire off a piece of its own Stargem. The rock shoots across and through one Horatio clone, leaving the other two to fire off Heat Waves. Both fires crisscross..over OzStar! Lucky break for both.

Not happy about missing, Horatio runs at OzStar and..shoots past. OzStar thinks its a complete miss, but Horatio was actually fooling it. He turned on his heels and bit down on the starfish, almost ripping an appendage off. OzStar freaked, and released an anxiety fueled Psychic blast, throwing Horatio backwards!

Horatio still felt like he had the upper hand. Stretching out in the warm sun, the Arcanine would take a trot around the arena, building his speed up quite admirably. OzStar cared not for hyperspeed, as the intricate dance it was performing had a secondary effect. The cold wind that blew over Horatio's coat signaled something he dreaded.

Rain. In no time at all, droplets began to fall, and his clone was now as transparent as glass.

Pissed about that stupid smaller Starmie, Horatio fired off a sequence of stars that sunk in. OzStar winced, and retaliated by forcing a Thunderbolt to shoot up from its Gem, and come cycling down right onto Horatio.

The pup yelped n pain, as he stood up, unsure what to make of this mockerey.

No long lasting paralysis effect was always grand. Horatio though felt quite encumbered. With the sun gone, he could not charge up his Solarbeam nearly fast enough to make a dent in OzStar. As he focused, OzStar merely took some energy and replenished its own health, making this fight a little more lop sided in its favor.

Okay, Star, looking better now. While he's busy sending out that weakened Solarbeam that your screen will help dampen further, take that wall of rain and hit him with a Waterfall. If he doesn't change the weather, follow up with a Brine and finish by relaxing. If he makes it Sunny again, spend the second turn relaxing and finish with Rollout.

With the rain coming down, Horatio felt stuck in a rut. He could only charge up his Solarbeam even more-but he knew it was not ready to fire it. It didn't help when the wily Starmie spun over, spewing water from all appendages.

Ozstar slammed into Horatio with the power of a Waterfall, and Horatio winced in pain, as he slid on the mud.

Horatio stood up clearly, glad to be able to finally fire off that Solarbeam. The Beam sped forth, but Starmie was ready, and cycled around it. With two appendages pointing toward Horatio, twin streams of water went flying at him. The Briny liquid struck Horatio, stinging his face and nose vehemently.

Horatio shook off the water, and hissed. He ran and jumped over the starfish that was lying still on the wet ground. He howled and panted round in the rain, the clouds starting to part. His actions would finally bring some balance.

The sun broke through, and started to dry up some of the excess water.

The sun beaming once again, Horatio sighed. Least this would work in his favor. OzStar was quick to rotate enough to create a warping shield of light around its body, but would that be enough? Seems so, as Horatio split into clones again to extend its lifespan here.

Now the hounds all began to howl. They began to glow as well, an in this heat, you could see the clones start to flicker. Not that it mattered to OzStar. The Overheat blast that washed over him was sufficiently powered up enough to change its mind though. Should've finished that dog off sooner.

Glad a hit got through Horatio followed up by running toward the echinoderm. Star jumped up ad fired a slew of starts to cancel out the fake runners of the pack. Soon enough the real one showed, with a few stars embedded in its back. It lunged and clamped down on OzStar really hard. Electric bolts were sent through the invertebrate.

Horatio wasn't quite done with this match yet. He howled, and split up again, but he did feel the strain of survival tugging at his abilities. Star spun in annoyance, but was glad to see the strength of the sun shining down a lil less hard on the clone to the left. Star smirked, and shot that Power Gem, cracking Horatio in the head.

Horatio was stunned, how was that possible? Akk he could do was relax, but that was not the best time. No sir. OzStar was on the rampage, and second Power Gem was fired, rocking Horatio to his core and knocking him out.

Wolfsong, finally losing one, releases a show stopper. Alexx wobbles out and claps her hands, while OzStar is quick to set up a field of Light, screening anything that might come its way. But Alexx decide that she looks fat, and tries to slim her figure deceptively.

The sun fading, OzStar watches as Alexx prepares a Shadowball. Hrm, not fun. So it splits into 3, and then finds itself completely tuckered out! Alexx ponders this dilemma, and fires, watched the Ball seemingly lose power and then sail right above OzStar. Luck of the toss, huh.

Not pleased with her current record, Alex fired off a nice sized Thunderbolt at OzStar. the Bolt found its mark and gave a nice jolt. But then OzStar faded away. Cripes.

OzStar looked on in wonder as Alexx quit with the evasion strategy. A sizable ring of lightning came to surround OzStar-zapping him and the clones back into reality. Can't hide forever.

OzStar grinned, feeling that energy run through its body again, knowing it can attack again. It was then that Alexx tried to be crafty, and snatch away that Light screen. But it failed, for some reason, and Alexx left herself to be openly struck by that Icy Wind. She fell back on her rotund bulk, pained by that

Star tried to gain the upper hand, firing at the downed Chansey with a nice Signal Beam, the helix forming beam struck its mark, making Alexx roll a ways backwards. In retaliation, Alexx got back up and threw all her weight behind a Thunderpunch that hit square in the center of Starmie!

OzStar seems to relax a moment, as Alexx once again minimizes to alleviate itself of the risk of being struck. That doesn't really work however, as OzStar flings a healthy dosage of flying stars to hit the pink egg.

Tired of always being struck while slimming down, Alexx now puts up a Light Screen of her won to deter any rogue attacks of a specialized nature. OzStar tries to aim that that same spot again, but the dual helix beam winds up flying over and under Alexx. Damn!

Winded again, Starmie watched as Alexx now turned up the juice. The ring of electricity was back and it came to shock OzStar into submission. Though he was glad that shield was still around, it knew that would not last long.
