Chaos Redefined vs Pixel [Ref: DL. IM SZTL COHERENT]

I want a match. However, my other matches are moving about as quickly as a dead snail, and I need this slot for my turn in the the all-comer's challenge comes around. So, I'm going to make it a quick battle. As a result, some rules will seem odd, but I'm hoping someone is up for them.

I want a 1v1. No fancy arena, just indigo plateau. There will be a 4 day DQ period for both contestants and the ref. If the ref breaks this, we will obtain a subref. Anyone looking to subref can ask anytime after the 4-day period, regardless of whether we have posted.

Finally, and this one could be annoying, but hopefully, it won't come up: If this match is still going by the time I am up for blade's all-comer challenge, then this match is finished, and the winner is the person with the most hit points at the time.

I will be using my male Tangela, Vineface.

We'll try to sneak past the safeguard with Sleep Powder before it gets up. Then, if we get in fast enough, follow up with Stun Spore. If we are too slow, then Mimic the safeguard. Finally, hit him with Ancient Power.

===Round 1===

Here we are, standing in the Indigo Plateau. Its a one on one battle of ..small proportions. We have Chaos and Pixel, ready to rumble. Vineface and Growlithe are ready to run this battle to the finish.

Vineface tries to be quicker than Growlithe and shoots a Sleep Powder at it. The dog backs up and causes a veil to start from the top, veiling it from the Sleep Powder. Vine does not appreciate at all.

Vine jumps up and down slightly mad that the sleep powder did not work. But well, it could always learn from its opponent. So it took the time to try and learn that manuvear...but it has not used it yet. Meanwhile, Growlithe took some time and began to charge up a massive fire attack. It flew out and engulfed Vineface, burning him quite a bit.

Vineface winced, before standing up. This was not going to be an easy fight. It didn't help that the next attack that came from that Growlithe was more fire! It didn't hurt as much, but it definitely left a mark. To retaliate, Vine grabbed up some rocks and used some invisible force to toss them at Growlithe.

Well, as Growlithe growls, Vineface takes initiative and starts up a Safeguard of his own. The veil blankets Vineface, but then so does a bath of Fire! Growlithe charged up so much energy it seemed it was a veritable fire inferno!!!!

Vineface freaked. This was not turning out too well. Growlithe did not slow it down as well. In fact, he turned it up, by going nuclear. Vine flipped backwards from the Overheated pup, and waited til the flames died down. When he was sure the pup had enough fire energy expunged, a slew of seeds went flying, and latched onto Growlithe.

Growlithe then went back to basics, trying to safeguard itself. But since the veil was already up a thinner layer was produced, to try and replace what was once lost. Vine shrugged, and dug its feet in the ground. The nutrients here seemed adequate enough.

Vineface just sits there, feeling confidant that he's going to be toast if he doesn't do something. But no. Ingrained there, this viney mass is not moving, even as Growlithe charges for him with the heat of a thousand suns radiating from it body. They collide, and the pain, hoo man the pain looks to be terrifically superb.

Growlithe took a breath, and backed up. This attack was not going to be as strong as last time, but he was willing to do anything to eliminate this plant, to secure victory.. So, he began digging his paws in the dirt to ground himself, when a bright flash of light reamed into him! Growlithe howled, that was superbly painful! Vineface jumped off the of the firespitter, only to find himself in the radius of a weaker, yet still powerful Overheat. Yeah fire and sand = hot hot hot.

That was a shock. Growlithe was sure ribs were moved in unnatural ways. As he tried to stand, Viney looked toward the everlasting sun here and reached out, sucking in that light and making some green to feed itself. Unappreciative of this healing business, a weaker than normal Flamethrower expunged itself upon Vine-counteracting that some.

Just to check, is leech seed actually leeching from Growlithe? Or is it just healing me?

Also, what do the asterix's mean?

And why is flamethrower doing more than overheat?

The asterisks are for when I have to modify attacks due to the damage cap. Overheat would have done much more, but damage caps stop it at 13 so the round would have a total of 40.

Hence that's why it seems Flamethrower is doing more than Overheat. Really, Overheat hit for like 20.

Vineface felt this match was boring and hunkered down for a rest. Problem is, he's just not fast enough. Growlithe once again flared on, and streaked toward him with that blinding fury. A thick crash could be heard, followed by Viney's screams, and then silence...

The dust clears, and Growlithe stands there, next to a knocked out Vineface.
