Well - The fans wanted it, and we've brung it to you.
Simply put, this is the registration portion for our Mono Tournament! Few simple rules to abide by and we'll be on our way.
Signups start today, and last until May 27th. This way, if you do not have the points needed to partake, you can quickly finish up those battles and rack them in (see my reasoning to want ya'll to get yer bank totals in now?).
1) The Tournament costs 3 points to register for, so that goes into the pot. I personally will be throwing in a undisclosed amount of points into the pot - to sweeten the deal since I will not be participating. (This is a clause however...as if there is an uneven number of registered participants - like 7 instead of 8- then I'll jump in to complete a full bracket. [[Clause activated]])
2) This is a Mono-Tournament. Meaning that everyone will have to pick their Pokemon based on Type. Yes, dual types are allowed, so you can have your all-Bug team is you wish. You can have a maximum of 4 Pokemon on your team. Note that when you register, you cannot change the amount of Pokemon on your team.
3) Once registered, we will see how many rounds the Tournament Bracket can sustain. Once that is evaluated, we will have theme rounds. The rounds will be announced during the pair-ups, so you never know what you are going to get! All battles are 2 vs 2!!
4) Now. If you do not have a Pokemon that fits the round's theme-you can borrow one, but it'll cost you ~_n(No more free -ninety-free!!) 1 point for first stage, 2 points for second stage, 3 points for third stage. This all goes to the pot and you have to buy one within your type. We will set up a borrowing system so some higher folks can loan out their team to smaller team members if it works out that way.
There will be prize money for the Champion and the Runner Up, and maybe a Trophy (Whoever thinks they can whip one up, that'd be awesome)
ALSO. DQ TIME LIMIT OF 5 DAYS PER MATCH >> We're not gonna have ourselves a 4 month ordeal where people vanish. Losers of matches get the points as if in a regular battle.
5) I have been alerted that there are many folks who wish to join, but to not quite have the financial stability to enter-but with to participate. Fine. To help alleviate this, MLG and I have come up with a loaning system.
Whomever currently has registered for the Tournament (sans me, since I'm a wild card)-and has already picked their team-and has over 20 Pokemon is eligible to loan out Pokemon of any type except the type they are using. The loan points go to the pot, not to the person loaning-so this is not particularly advantageous to someone's point total-but more of a show of good sportsmanship. You all are under NO obligation to loan out Pokemon for this Tournament, so don't feel bad if you don't want to. You can loan out as many as you wish-granted you have a Pokemon/type that someone needs.
Now, as an added incentive, I personally will pay the entrance fee for anyone that has 6 points or less-so you can use your points to acquire a team. The catch: You must register at least one of your own Pokemon, therefore that allows you enough points to make it through at least one round of this event. :p.
Point: Non Evo Pokemon cost 3 points. That's their final form
Keep checking this OP. Rules will be added and modified as needed until 5/26.
