    Default Back to Battle! A 1v1 - DF44 vs RL , Ref = KOT

I'm back for 6 weeks, having just missed a contest .

Banning Curse ; Destiny Bond ; Attract ; Toxic and non damaging recovery moves, including rest.

DQ - 3 Days (I'm being strict with this)

    1 vs 1 (Single <.<;; )

I'm releasing, then my opponent is releasing & attacking.

Arena - Fenced Field, a small field full of Tauros and Miltank (The former will attack you for 10% ENERGY on direct contact). Also, no leaving the fenced area, and break the fence and you will spend the next 2 moves repairing it (Repair ~ Repair ~ Action)

I'm releasing Meteon, my Castform (Genderless iirc)

I'll take you on. If you're using a Castform, then I'll assume Abilities will be active? I'll use my newly caught Croagunk (f), Dendro (Dry Skin).

All right Dendro, lets start off with Taunt to prevent the weather changing. Then lets try a Cross Chop followed by Poison Jab.

    Thanks ^_^
    Yes to abilities.

Anyway, what sort of lark uses Taunt? Use your faster speed to set up Sunny Day before it taunts you (Base 70 > Base 50 ^_^)

Follow up by taking that Cross Chop, and retaliate with a close range weather ball, using fire blast if Sunny Day was unsuccessful.

Finish up with.... Future sight, subbing in fire blast if sunny day was unsuccessful.

Sunny Day ~ Weather Ball / Fire Blast ~ Future Sight / Fire Blast

Actually Dogfish44, Castform can be male or female, I did a check, your Castform is male. However, I should mention that base speeds of the Pokemon don't apply too much here, sorry.

    Round 1

    Pre-Round Stats:

    Dogfish44:
    O

    Meteon the Castform (M)
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Health: 100%
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Energy: 100%
    Ability: Forecast
Sunny Day ~ Weather Ball ~ Future Sight
Sub: Fire Blast x2 if Sunny Day is unsuccessful
    Status: Ready to go!

    RaZoR LeAf:
    O

    Dendro the Croagunk (F)
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Health: 100%
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Energy: 100%
    Ability: Dry Skin
Taunt ~ Cross Chop ~ Poison Jab
    Status: Ready to go!

This battle is taking place in a area called Fenced Field. With a bunch of Tauros and Miltank grazing outside the area where the two trainers here are about to battle, things could get out of hand if they don't watch out for the two sets of cattle Pokemon. With none of the Tauros or Miltank paying attention to the two trainers just yet, the first trainer makes his appearance. Carefully getting over the fence, he reveals himself as Dogfish44, and he takes out a Pokeball. Opening it up, he sends out a male Castform by the name of Meteon. Soon, the second trainer appears. A returning face to the ASB league, he reveals himself as RaZoR LeAf and takes out a Pokeball of his own. Opening it up, a female Croagunk named Dendro is revealed. With that, the battle is started by Dendro, who begins throwing a nasty Taunt at Meteon. Saying things about Castform being a bad excuse for a living cloud, the insults only fuels Meteon's anger as he rams himself into Dendro, knocking her back a little.

    Meteon: -2 Energy, Taunted
    Dendro: -3 Health, -5 Energy

Having fallen for the Taunt, Meteon goes for a Fire Blast, breathing out a kanji-shaped fireball that plows into Dendro, causing the Croagunk to cry in pain as the flames strike her fragile skin. Nonetheless, she is lucky enough that she wasn't burned, and she runs over to Meteon, crossing her arms to retaliate with a strong Cross Chop that sends Meteon flying.

Meteon: -14 Health, -11 Energy, Taunted
    Dendro: -14 Health, -10 Energy

Deciding to give Dendro a second helping of the hot stuff, Meteon breathes out a second Fire Blast, causing the Croagunk to cry in pain as the flames make their mark on her once again. However, this time the pain begins to linger, as a result of the burn that appeared on Dendro. Uh oh, this doesn't look too good. Dendro, immediately feeling the pain of the burn, retaliates again, this time with a painful Poison Jab, lunging her poison-cloaked fist right into Meteon, causing the Castform to cry in pain. To her relief, she doesn't feel any poison coming into her, but Dendro winces from her burn, as it knocks off a small portion of her health.

Meteon: -9 Health, -11 Energy, Taunted
Dendro: -17 Health (14 from the Fire Blast, 3 from the burn), -9 Energy, Burned

    Stats After Round 1:

    Dogfish44:
    O

    Meteon the Castform (M)
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Health: 77%
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Energy: 76%
    Ability: Forecast
    Status: Taunted (3 actions left)

    RaZoR LeAf:
    O

    Dendro the Croagunk (F)
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Health: 66%
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Energy: 76%
    Ability: Dry Skin
    Status: Burned (3% per round)

    Notes:

-When I ref a Pokemon at 0% energy, they lose 1 point of health for each 2 points of energy they use, so keep that in mind.

-Whenever I ref Taunt being used on the same action that the opponent is using a non-damaging move (excluding counterattack moves, such as Counter, Mirror Coat, and Metal Burst), the Pokemon that got Taunted tends to get off a weak attack in place of the non-damaging move it would have otherwise done.

-Dogfish44, you have the first move for the next round.

    Pre-Round Stats:

    Dogfish44:

    Meteon the Castform (M)

    Dendro the Croagunk (F)
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Health: 66%
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Energy: 76%
    Ability: Dry Skin
Rain Dance ~ Thunderpunch ~ Thunderpunch
    Status: Burned (3% per round)

The battle continues as Meteon goes for yet another Fire Blast on Dendro. As the Castform begins to breathe out and form the latest kanji of fire, Dendro wastes no time in calling for a Rain Dance. At the Croagunk's request, the clouds come together and begin to drop rain on the arena, the cattle Pokemon, and the battlers, changing Meteon's form in the process. The rain doesn't completely stop the Fire Blast, but it does weaken it a fair bit before it makes its collision with Dendro.

    Meteon: -11 Energy, Taunted
    Dendro: -8 Health, -3 Energy

Changing his fiery assault around a little, Meteon goes for a Flamethrower this time around. Once again, the flames are dampened by the rain, but the Flamethrower still makes a successful landing on Dendro. Dendro however isn't without retaliation...electrifying fist retaliation that is, as she smacks Meteon hard with a Thunderpunch.

Meteon: -9 Health, -9 Energy, Taunted
    Dendro: -7 Health, -6 Energy

Alternating with the fire once more, Meteon goes back for another Fire Blast. As before, the rain makes its drenching impact on the kanji-shaped fireball, weakening it before it plows into Dendro. Once again, the Croagunk fights back with another Thunderpunch, smacking Meteon with her electrically charged fist a second time around. The burn meanwhile makes Dendro wince in pain, but thanks to the rain, the pain is lessened quite a bit. The Taunt on Meteon wears off at that point as well.

    Meteon: -9 Health, -11 Energy
Dendro: -7 Health (-8 from the Fire Blast, -1 from the burn, +2 from the rain healing), -6 Energy

    Stats After Round 2:

    Dogfish44:
    O

    Meteon the Castform (M)
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Health: 59%
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Energy: 45%

    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Health: 44%
    [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Energy: 61%
    Ability: Dry Skin
    Status: Burned (1% this round)

    Notes:

-Being as it is raining in the arena, the rain weakened Dendro's burn.

-Rain Dance will last for two more rounds unless otherwise changed.

-RaZoR LeAf, you have the first move for the next round.

    Ability: Dry Skin
Bounce (up) ~ Bounce (down) + Thunderpunch (or Poison Jab if the weather is changed)
    Status: Burned (1% this round)

The battle continues as Dendro goes for a Bounce. Intending to not let herself take another hit, the Croagunk bounds up high, out of Meteon's range. The fact that his opponent is up in the air doesn't phase the Castform, though, as he makes a weather change, wishing for the sun to peek out through the clouds as it does just that, bringing on the heat into the arena, and making Meteon change into his Fire form.

    Meteon: -5 Energy
    Dendro: -3 Energy

Still up in the air, Dendro doesn't waste any time in preparing to attack Meteon on her way down. As her fist begins to glow with poison energy once again, she comes down on Meteon quite hard, making the Castform loudly cry in pain from such a strong combo. The combo though, doesn't stop Meteon from bringing on some retaliation with some help from the sunny weather, as he fires a fiery hot Weather Ball at Dendro, making the Croagunk cry in pain.

    Meteon: -15 Health, -8 Energy
    Dendro: -14 Health, -13 Energy

As Dendro just stays there, not doing anything because of her combo from earlier, Meteon goes for another Weather Ball, making the Croagunk cry out in pain even more, as her dislike of heat really begins to set in. Being exposed to the sunlight and having a burn don't help Dendro's case either, as they both sap some more of her health.

    Meteon: -8 Energy
Dendro: -19 Health (-14 from the Weather Ball, -3 from the burn, -2 from the sun exposure)

    Stats After Round 3:

    Dogfish44:

Ok Dendro, use Bounce, and with your momentum built up, combine it with a Thunder Punch to really hit home. Then finish with a Vacuum Wave.

Subs: If the weather changes from Rain, then use Poison jab instead of Thunder Punch.

I object to the damage of Weather Ball, a move which is shown as being Incredible damage and in the sunlight a fire type.

    Dry Skin
Reduces HP if it is hot. Water restores HP.
The Pokémon has exceptionally dry skin that is best kept moist at all times. This skin is so dry that the Pokémon can soak up water almost like a sponge, re-hydrating itself with no ill effect. When the Dry Skin Pokémon is hit by a Water-type attack it regains health equal to the amount it would have lost and no greater than 25HP it also regains a small amount of health at the end of every round if the battlefield is rainy. This dry skin is also incredibly sensitive to heat, however, and so it loses a small amount of health at the end of every round if the sun is shining brightly. Fire-type attacks made against a Dry Skin Pokémon are super effective.

Factoring in stab as well, that damage level is very low.
