I happen to have been a pretty good music student, so I’ll have no complaints about being off-key, NONE! Sorry, I look nothing like a referee at the moment, but I’m certified! Honest! *shows ID* Even if my uniform is in storage and my flags are nowhere to be seen! Anyway, if you can hear this, that means my mic is working properly, so I’ll spare you the details!

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today-- No, that’s not right. This isn’t a wedding, am I out of practice? Oh, here we go!

Welcome, one and all, to the Sky Stadium! This unique stadium has what? You guessed it! Complete and total control of the weather under this one awesome sky! For our first seven rounds, the weather will be constantly changing, so I hope you’re all weather-proof, folks, cause I know I’m not! chaos_redefined, a well-known ASB veteran, takes up the challenge presented by Neo, a newbie aspiring to become Gym Leader.

Chaos opens with a lovely Mismagius with the name of Spectre!
Neo retaliates with an unnamed Porygon!

Upon release, Porygon immediately Traced Spectre’s Levitate Ability, and now it’s floating! Spectre starts off by closing her eyes and calming her mind, ignoring her surroundings and preparing her for what’s to come. Porygon, however, has a different idea, and prepares a Psybeam! It seems to have trouble aiming, however, despite Spectre being a nonmoving target and finally fires off a rainbow-colored beam! It hits her and knocks her onto her side, but the Calm Mind softened the blow, and she doesn’t seem to notice.

Porygon: -7 EN | Spectre: -4 HP

Spectre: +1 Sp. Atk. +1 Sp. Def.


Still calming her mind, Spectre still floats in mid-air sort of like how a dead fish does in a fish tank. Porygon charges up another Psybeam, once again having a little difficulty with accuracy, and blasts Spectre, who gets knocked back further, but doesn’t seem to feel it.

Spectre: +1 Sp. Atk.+1 Sp. Def.

Spectre suddenly opens her eyes and blasts a glowing green ball of what looks like energy from nature itself, torpedoing right into Porygon! With the extra mental boosts, that’s gonna bruise! Uh, I take that back. I don’t think Porygon can bruise, but it can fire off a multicolored Signal Beam! Spectre brushes it off rather easily, and with that note, the round ends. The machines are whirring right now, and the fog is slowly moving in.

Huh? What’s this? The fog is so thick that the field is almost completely obscured from here! Okay, never mind the Pokemon, my hair is starting to frizz, NOT COOL. Sheesh, this job is all about appearances and commentary; I hope my salary won’t get cut. Anyway, this will definitely reduce the visibility for the Pokemon as well. How will our Trainers fare?

I… I can’t see anything, but it seems like the two Pokemon are plotting something or other. There’s a distinct shuffling of material on Chaos and Spectre’s end, but I’m not sure what that could mean.

Porygon: Locked on

From what I can see from the shadows within the fog, Spectre let loose some sort of attack and narrowly missed Porygon. WOAH! That bright flash of yellow light must’ve been some really powerful Electric attack, and it looks like it broke something! I hope Spectre’s okay, because that did NOT look pretty. Erm, the damage, I mean. That Electric move lit up the fog beautifully!

Porygon: -12 EN | Spectre: -8 EN | Substitute: -13 HP

Seems like that move gave away Porygon’s position and there’s a green light to match the yellow light from earlier! It seems like there’s a collision, since the fog darkened where the attack hit the target. Ooh, there goes an electric attack again! This time I know it’s Discharge! Porygon released a torrent of electrical charges from its body, not only lighting up the fog again, but you can see it sparking! Looks like fog’s clearing up and dense-looking clouds are starting to roll in. From the looks of it, Spectre built up a Substitute of herself which is now nearly reduced to rubble and she seems to have trouble staying afloat.

With all this OW hail falling, it’s a wonder the Pokemon can still fight. Porygon takes advantage of Spectre’s paralyzed state OW and takes a close look at her, observing how OW she obtained better power and defense and copied her stat OW changes. Spectre attempts to OW move, but a faint electrical OW charge cripples her body.

She musters up the strength OW to pull together OW another sphere of green and shoves OW it at Porygon’s direction, smashing into OW that weird duck-shaped nose. Where the OW heck did that come from? OW!

Oh poor Porygon… OW! It spit out a glob of what OW looks like mystery-colored goop… and OW it landed on the Substitute. What a OW waste of a Lock-On! It got lucky, though. Paralysis was OW acting up again, and Spectre cringed OW as she couldn’t move.

What's this? The wind is picking up; It's a sandstorm! I'm all for sand on the beach, but once its flying through the air? Blahhhhh.

Taunt ~ Psychic ~ Psychic

Feeling the effects of getting low on energy, Porygon attempts to loosen up a bit and relax. But Spectre has other plans. She unleashes a barrage of slicing insults and rude gestures towards Porygon. Annoyed that it cannot relax properly, Porygon struggles to think of something to do, and ultimately just throws itself towards Spectre.

Porygon once again tries to relax, but all it can remember are those words...those blasted words! Oncxe again, it throws itself at Spectre in an attempt to do some sort of damage. Spectre floats away to a safe place after being pretty much nudged by the geometric duck, and goes on the offensive. She connects her mind with Porygon's, and fires off a huge mental blast!

Spectre sees Porygon lying still on the ground, and zooms in close for a better look. As she gets close, she decides to hit it with one more Psychic blast just in case. After the mental waves subside, Porygon begins to twitch violently, kicking Spectre in the face.

What a well-timed taunt by Spectre! Porygon really struggled to get by that round. Too bad Spectre doesn't have any fighting moves to really pound in that damage... Oh good, the sandstorm is subsiding! And now it's...drizzling? This weather sure is fickle. Where are we, Massachusetts? Ahh!! Now its downpouring! It's as if a celestial dam has broken!

Weather affecting moves/abilites have no effect here!
Each round the weather will change according to the following order:
Sun: Sunny Day effect
Mist: Foggy effect
Cloud: Hail effect
Lightning: Electric moves this round are useless
Storm: Sandstorm effect
Rain: Rain Dance effect
Sky: Cloud Nine effect.
After the first 7 rounds, the challenger will choose the order for the next 6 rounds
(an effect can last as long as the challenger would like, but no more than the given 6 rounds.
After that, the home opponent (in this case, Neo) will choose a single weather effect to last the rest of the battle.

The digital duck tries to use its computer mind to Lock On to Spectre's movements, preparing for a huge attack, but it's struggles to keep up with the command, and throws itself at Spectre! Spectre senses Porygon is getting low on health, and launches a Psychic blast towards it, hoping to finish it off. But it's not dying yet!
