Three people stand in the middle of a town, wrapped in layers of clothing in order to brace against the powerful blizzard battering the mountainside. Unlike regular hail, there's a rare ice crystal present in the wind, Never Melt Ice, that is providing a boost to all Ice Moves. RODAN and Jelibean Man reach release a pokemon, a vibrant blue and yellow Chinchou that flops into an ice cold pond with a shiver, whilst a sharp toothed Zubat flutters about gaining balance in the powerful wind. The two issue commands, then move off into shelters, whilst the ref, gets to stand out in the wind getting frostbite. Thank you very much, I will be speaking to my Union about this.
ROUND ONE
Zubat moves through the air quickly, fluttering between ice crystals and lumps of snow. A ghostly smoke forms around him and he dives down, striking Chinchou quickly and sharply, causing the fish to spin around in shock. As Zubat lifts up and away, Chinchou sends a beam of pure cryogenic energy after him, hitting him in the back as he clears the edge of the pond. The blast is amplified by the Never Melt ice, and the force of it knocks Zubat down to the ground where he collapses into a pile of snow. The two pokemon grumble as the hail batters and scratches their bodies.
Chinchou HP(-3) PP(-5) ~ HP(-2) struck by Hail
Zubat HP(-16) PP(-1) ~ HP(-2) struck by Hail
Spitting out a mouthful of snow, Zubat lifts up off the ground again. He flaps his wings, and flies up high, over the battlefield where he levels off at the top. Then, droping like a stone he dive bombs Chinchou, surrounding himself with that ghostly fog once more, raking the tips of his wings across the fish's back. Chinchou howls in pain, momentarily astonished by the attack, he bobs under the water to let the chill numb away the pain. When he lifts back, Zubat is circling the pond, a toothy grin showing.
Chinchou HP(-12) PP(-0) ~ HP(-2) struck by Hail ~ Flinched
Zubat HP(-0) PP(-9) ~ HP(-2) struck by Hail
With no further actions to take, Zubat is left wide open to attack. Chinchou smirks and lets loose a powerful blast of ice again, striking Zubat square in the chest. With the additional boost, the ice creeps across Zubat's body and back, leaving a thin layer of frost on the pokemon's body. Zubat flaps his wings desperately in order to stay aloft, the creeping ice already weighing him down slightly.

ROUND TWO
Zubat flaps hard in an attempt to break the ice on his back, whilst trying to target his devious foe with a pulse of supersonic noise. At a high enough pitch it's enough to addle anyone's brain, but over the howling Blizzard, the noise just doesn't penetrate far enough to cause any lasting damage to Chinchou. Oblivious to his opponents attempts at attacking, the angler fish lets loose another blast of cryo-energy, knocking Zubat higher into the air and directly into the blustering winds of the blizzard.
Chinchou HP(-0) PP(-5) ~ HP(-2) struck by Hail
Zubat HP(-16) PP(-5) ~ HP(-2) struck by Hail
Feeling worse for ware, Zubat swoops back down, dive bombing his foe, and biting down hard on the chinchou's electric pouches. Chinchou squeals, as poison drips onto his head, but it is quickly washed away by the cold water before it has a chance to sink in. In these close quarters, Zubat can barely get out of the way before a blast of ice hits him in the back again. This time, another layer of ice forms over his back and part of a wing, leaving him flapping one wing madly just to keep a loft.
Chinchou HP(-6) PP(-5) ~ HP(-2) struck by Hail
Zubat HP(-16) PP(-5) ~ HP(-2) struck by Hail ~ Doubly Frozen
Having no more of this nonsense for the rest of the round, Zubat turns to face Chinchou, who inevitably lets loose a third (or is it sixth?) Ice Beam. This time the beam is absorbed completely by an invisible shield that protects Zubat from the attack, rendering it useless. Breathing a sigh of relief, Zubat momentarily forgets to flap and suddenly has to exert more energy just to stay in the air.

You know RODAN, I can't help but question your choice of arena and pokemon. You opted for an arena where the power of ice moves is doubled, and against an opponent, that as a water type is able to learn ice attacks, sent out a pokemon weak to ice. Only two rounds in and this battle is almost half over.

Bump Rodan
that's a shame i was hoping to win fair and square DQ's are so upsetting
but i understand
OK, RODAN has been inactive since 5th March, and hasn't posted in the absence tower. It's been a week, so I'm calling a DQ on him.
Since Zubat is under 55% health (which to be honest isn't surprising given the circumstances) but we're still only on the first pokemon, jelibean man and I both receive 2 points, RODAN, should he ever resurface receives 1.
thanks shame to i could have won
