All right! How about a giant Rubiks Cube? After five rounds, it will turn and randomly stop and we will be magnetically pulled to the top. The cube is already solved so each floor is one color. We begin on white, which is normal and has no effect. Other colors include:
Red: Attack gets a boost
Blue: Defense gets a boost
Yellow: Speed gets a boost
Orange: Special Attack gets a boost
Green: Special Defense gets a boost
Dig and Ingrain are banned for obvius reasons, and any earthquake or Magnitude will work but there will be a 30% chanch of it knocking the cube around prematurely. I'll start with Mocha, Male Tyrouge with Guts (are abilities on?)
o.O....This sounds fun. ::Watches::

May we have a ref here please?
Bump for Ref
Jeli, what do you think we should do with this match? Canel or keep it? I'll leave it up to you.
I think it's a really interesting battle and would love to give it a go. are you friends with any of the refs or anything that you can ask since you have been playing a little longer
I don't really talk to anyone very much, I've always been kind of quiet. But as far as ASB goes, I consider a couple friends. I have someone in mind to PM so I will.
Oh well, the person I asked couldn't make it, but I'm in no hurry, and we can leave this open as long as you want.![]()
Will ref!Gold stars all around for being so patient.
I will try to have this up later on tonight. That failing, it will certainly be up tomorrow. You guys get to be the first to experience my slightly revised reffing template, yaaaay.
Thanks, Oslo, you're awesome.![]()

Good day, ladies and gentlemen! Today I have the immense pleasure of welcoming you to, um… okay, yeah, this is kind of a weird one. In some wtf-this-is-bizarre universe, we seem to find ourselves perched upon a gigantic Rubik’s Cube. Fingers crossed that battling atop a Rubik’s Cube is much more enjoyable than playing with an actual Rubik’s Cube, which (spoiler alert!) is not very enjoyable at all.
Our combatants step onto the clean white of the field and stare each other down. ASB veteran MxG will be taking on relative newbie Jelibean Man. Egads! Exciting stuff is a-brewin’! Our combatants pause for half a second before making their pick, with MxG releasing a Tyrogue onto the field as Jelibean summons his Misdreavus into the fray. I smell a type advantage, but let’s see how things play out!
Misdreavus wastes no time in cutting to the chase. The cute widdle ghostie’s necklace glows a blinding shade of pink before emitting a powerful blast of Psychic-type energy. The move strikes Mocha hard, rocketing him down the smooth surface of the plastic pitch. The Scuffle Pokemon won’t be bested that easily, though. He begins flexing his guns and making kissy faces and… yeah, nothing. Hrm. Misdreavus apparently doesn’t swing that way.
Mmkay, correction: turns out Mocha will be bested that easily after all.
Misdreavus: <-5 EP>
Mocha: <-11 HP; -3 EP>
Cackling at his opponent’s misfortune, Misdreavus decides that if a tactic ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Just like that, another Psybeam torments Mocha ruthlessly. Suddenly, the fighter begins feeling a little bit on the dizzy side. Fortunately, the Tyrogue manages to execute his next move effectively, splitting up into a series of clones. Looks like it’s four on one, Misdreavus! Hah!
Misdreavus: <-5 EP>
Mocha: <-11 HP; -4 EP; Con; 3 clones>
Misdreavus peers from Tyrogue to Tyrogue to Tyrogue to Tyrogue. It’s a medley of Mochas! Crossing his fingers (except not, because he doesn’t have any), Misdreavus releases a third Psybeam. This time, the concentrated release of energy collides with one of the four Tyrogues and… poof! One of Mocha’s clones vanishes from existence. The real Mocha, still a little addled, nonetheless manages a grin. He steps forth and successfully bypasses Confusion a second time in a row by releasing a beam of scarlet light. The Foresight locks onto Misdreavus. With that, our little spirit friend begins feeling a lot more corporeal. How annoying!

Delighted by his success so far, Misdreavus closes his eyes and begins to him. The spook begins to feel a little more calm and collected as Mocha takes a step forward to deal a little whip-ass. However, the little fighter’s addled state of mind finally gets the better of him and he ends up punching himself in the face instead. That… was not effective.
Misdreavus: <-4 EP; +1 SpA; +1 SpD>
Mocha: <-3 HP; 2 clones>
Misdreavus begins snickering. Five actions in and not one speck of damage! To celebrate, he begins concocting what I’m sure is an extremely diabolical scheme. Meanwhile, Mocha gives his head a shake and manages to overcome his Confusion. Sweet! He and his remaining posse lunge forth and swing their right legs in one fluid motion. The real attack collides with the ghost, sending him tumbling away.
Misdreavus: <-8 HP; -4 EP; +2 SpA>
Mocha: <-4 EP; 2 clones>
Okay, that’s enough prep time! As his jewels begin to shine once again, Misdreavus unleashes another Psychic-type blast, this time even more potent than the last. The Psybeam whistles through the air and… no dice! Once again, the attack strikes a clone. Mocha and his doppelganger exchange a look of relief. And then there were two. Pleased by this turn of events, Mocha springs forward with one of his hands bristling with sparkling black energy. He swings and clocks Misdreavus right in the kisser. Ouchies.

With such righteous stats, why not deal a little more damage? Misdreavus definitely seems to like this plan and fires off another Psybeam. Suddenly, Mocha does a little spin and produces three more clones to keep him company! Oh my! The Psybeam hits one of the five Tyrogues on the field, obliterating the clone. Three clonies left.
Misdreavus: <-5 EP>
Mocha: <-4 EP; 3 clones>
Misdreavus growls. What in the name of Bluk Berries is this nonsense? The Rubik’s Cube hasn’t even started spinning and this is already the most frustrating battle ever! Throwing caution to the wind, Misdreavus does what he does best and launches yet another concentrated burst of energy at the little clan of baby fighters. Oh, and how shocking: it once again takes out a clone. Misdreavus begins spouting some rather unbecoming curse words. Tsk tsk. The mouth on that thing! Joyful, Mocha and his posse bound forth and launch themselves gut-first into the Misdreavus. The ghostie tumbles down to the smooth white ground below. Can’t a spook catch a break?
Misdreavus: <-9 HP; -5 EP>
Mocha: <-7 EP; 2 clones>
Well, let’s try that again. Misdreavus peers from target to target to target. Eeney meeney miney… Moch! He launches yet another Psybeam and this time, he’s right on the nosie. The real Mocha takes the hit and is launched nearly all the way off the battlefield this time. Yikes! This time, the pain is far more than any attack he’s suffered thusfar. Not good. Moreover, the remaining clones appear to have vanished after the real Mocha took the hit. Eep. This is worse than not good! Nonetheless, Mocha doesn’t give up just yet and throws his body forward in one last Body Slam. The attack strikes and Misdreavus takes the hit, but doesn’t seem nearly as damaged as his foe. The Ghost-type Pokemon giggles in delight.

Okay... Try Swagger to confuse him until it works, then Thief. If yopu have any more moves left, Body Slam again. If you have any more moves, Body Slam and try again to land paralysis.
If he tries to Protect, immediately use Feint.

Misdreavus smirks and, swooping down, informs Mocha that he’s an anorexic midget. The cruelty! Mocha tries to do a cocky little strut around the place, but can’t seem to manage the moxie at a moment like this. Instead, he merely lunges forward in range and swipes at the ghost.
Misdreavus: <-4 HP; -4 EP>
Mocha: <-2 EP; Tnt>
With nothing to protect his foe, Misdreavus unleashes… a Psybeam? How utterly shocking! The move delivers quite a blow against poor Mocha, who’s once again rocketed to the very end of the cube. Pulling himself to his feat, he mutters under his breath. That move is really starting to get annoying. Leaping forth, Mocha strikes at Misdreavus with a rapid jab of crackling black energy. Ooh, Misdreavus didn’t like that. See? Type advantages hurt!
Misdreavus: <-6 HP; -9 EP>
Mocha: <-17 HP; -2 EP>
Iiiiit’s Psybeam time! The zillionth one screams across the pitch and delivers some hefty damage to poor Mocha. Still, this little Tyrogue hasn’t lost all his spirit just yet. He leaps upon his foe once again with an impressive Body Slam and… what’s that? The spook stays down. Hrm.
Looks like Paralysis to me. Misdreavus is not pleased.

if not just finish her

Mocha, we aren't out yet! Close your eyes and ears to try and avoid the Swagger and do a Round of song. Then when he Relaxes, we're gonna try a High Jump Kick. Maybe you can hit him if he's being still. Then the Taunt should be over, so make another Double Team.

The next round begins as Mocha opens wide and starts singing. However, being a less than classically trained vocalist, the notes are sharp and unpleasant. And… what’s that song? Father, Can You Hear Me? From friggin’ Yentl? Ahh, the agony! Misdreavus squirms in displeasure as Paralysis locks up his body and prevents him from moving.
Misdreavus: <-5 HP; Can’t move!>
Mocha: <-4 EP>
Closing his eyes, Misdreavus decides to get a little R&R, though Mocha has no intention of making his foe’s downtime enjoyable in the least. Bouncing upwards, Mocha does some fun Crouching Tiger-style motions in the air before coming crashing down toward the spook. The kick collides, sending Mocha crashing down to the cube below.
Misdreavus: <-15 HP; +6 EP>
Mocha: <-11 EP>
Suddenly, Mocha feels his rage dissipate. Okay, time to battle like a real Tyrogue! Doing a spin on the spot, the pint-sized warrior brings three clones into existence. Rising from the ground, Misdreavus commands yet another psionic blast. The beam screams through the air and reduces a clone to naught.
Misdreavus: <-5 EP>
Mocha: <-4 EP; 2 clones>
Suddenly, the Rubik’s Cube starts moving! The plastic puzzle begins flipping and rotating wildly, sending Misdreavus and Mocha whizzing around, before it comes to a stop. It stops on Orange. Ooh. Both combatants can feel the might of their ranged attacks increase.

Special Attack receives a boost!
With newfound energy coursing through their veins and increasing their Special Attack, one thing is clear: somebody’s not gonna make it out of this round alive. Kicking things off, Mocha lets loose with an eruption of black light that connects with Misdreavus for some potent damage. Awesome! Super effective! Angered by this powerful strike, Misdreavus unleashes a bevy of Psychic waves, but the move merely takes out one of Mocha’s clones.
Misdreavus: <-15 HP; -7 EP
Mocha: <-5 EP; 1 clone>
Eats stars, ghostie! Mocha takes aim at Misdreavus with several tiny stars that hit the Screech Pokemon with excellent precision. Misdreavus growls. You’ll pay for that! Except not really, because Paralysis sets in and keeps the Ghost-type from attacking.
Misdreavus: <-10 HP; Can’t move!>
Mocha: <-4 EP>
We’re right down to the wire! Misdreavus is barely alive at this point, though not ready to throw in the towel. Pleased with how much damage that last Hidden Power was able to deal, Mocha goes for a second. As the pain wracks Misdreavus and brings her to the precipice of defeat, the spook manages to harness all the control she can muster by trying to unleash an assault of Psychic waves. Suddenly, a flash of light consumes the field and we’re forced to shield our eyes.
What happened? Did the Psychic work? Or did Paralysis kick in? Or did it simply take out a clone? Could Mocha sustain that kind of hit? Ahh, the tension is killing me!
As the light fades and our vision is once again restored, we look upon the fallout. Lying side-by-side, both Misdreavus and Mocha have been defeated. Good work, guys.

The trainers recall the fallen Misdreavus and Tyrogue to their Pokeballs before contemplating their next selections. Jelibean Man decides to keep things perpetually undead by summoning a keystone-bound spirit to the field while Metallixs Girl calls out a hunched imp with jewels for eyes. What a creepy pairing! Let’s see how these guys will do!
Spiritomb begins by concocting a nasty plan to bring down his foe. A little of this, a little of that and—eh, what’s this, now? A hand comprised entirely of Dark energy has materialized in front of Amethyst. Suddenly, it lunges toward Spiritomb and wraps itself around the Forbidden Pokemon before vanishing. Spiritomb blinks, trying to figure out what just happened, but Amethyst certainly knows. His ranged prowess begins to skyrocket.

Spiritomb lets out a barrage of not-very-nice swear words upon realizing what his foe has just done. Ready to punish that thieving so-and-so for his insolence, Spiritomb closes his eyes and begins to meditate. However, before he can reap the benefits of such a tactic, another Dark hand appears before Amethyst and Snatches the Calm Mind’s effects. Once again, Spiritomb is left with nothing while Amethyst’s stats improve.

With so much raw power coursing through his veins, there’s not a lot for Amethyst to do besides, well, use it. Spiritomb retaliates with a swirling ball of shadows that strikes Amethyst right in the gut. Though the attack is boosted thanks to the current cube colour, the Sableye simply seems ready for more.
