Default Ok...what is with the breeding...im so lost and confused

Ok...im new to all the breeding stuff...i have no idea why people are breeding pokemon. The only charts i seen about breeding looked like it was in a different language. If anyone could explain the benefits of breeding and why everyone is doing it, it would really help me out....thanx.

#1) You get baby Pokemon not found in the wild

#2) You get Pokemon that learn "Egg Moves" from their fathers that they can't natural learn

#3) You can get Pokemon with better IVs than found in the wild (If the parent of the opposite sex have good IVs)

I'm sure there's even more reasons...

Better moves, better stats, different personalities...and you get to start training it from Lvl.5...which means that your E.V.'s will max out sooner,If your a good trainer
also,if you have a shiny, the possibility that you will hatch a shiny grows significantly,as opposed to catching them in the wild.

No, the baby Pokemon in eggs are only the lowest evolution of the FEMALE Pokemon in the breeding. Baby PKMN only LEARN moves from their fathers. Also, not just any two PKMN can breed together, they have to be in the same egg group.

Sorry if i seem stupid ...but im actually a veteran from the red/blue/yellow days.....and im not used to the game being so strategic.....so any help would really be....helpful

They won't necessarily STRONGER if u gave them the Macho Brace, it's just that they would get to their max EVs sooner.

Egg moves of the 2 bred Pokemon would depend on what PKMN the father is, what PKMN the baby is, and what bred-on-moves the baby Pokemon species can learn. The nature of the baby PKMN, however, will be random. It has nothing to do with the personalities of the 2 parents.

Anyway dun worry, u dun sound stupid. :-p Everyone needs a little help now and then.

Yeah, in addition to levelup moves and tm's, most pokemon have a short list of moves they can only have if they're a crossbreed. When two pokemon mate, the baby is always the same species as the mother (but unevolved) and will have every attack the father currently knows that they can learn naturally or as egg moves.

For example, first things I bred were a level 50 weezing and a female grimer. Weezing had haze, explosion, flamethrower, and sludge bomb.

Haze and Explosion are two of grimer's egg moves (it can't learn them any other way in r/s) and grimer/muk learns sludge bomb naturally (or by tm) and gets flamethrower by tm, so EVERY egg hatched into a grimer with those four moves. If weezing had any moves that grimer can't get, though, the babies wouldn't have those moves.

Don't be confused, this game is very cery complicated. To breed make sure you have two differnet gender pokemon in egg group. Then let them breed at breeding center, if you want to be techinical, look at the other posts.
If something is wrong, please say so.
