Aye, I think it's time for a showdown old friend!
Aye, I think it's time for a showdown old friend!
Oh, so beating me four times isn't enough for ya, is it? Well I'm not gonna let it happen again!
Okay, so we'll use this arena, which is the coolest one there ever was...probably.
The Wobbuffet Shrine
A large plateau sits high on a mountaintop, with two large statues of Wobbuffet stand, giving their salute to the great Japanese comedian they represent. At the end of each round, one of Wobbuffet's moves will take effect on one of the Pokemon and be in effect for the next round only. This effect cannot be averted or prevented.
Counter, Mirror Coat, Destiny Bond and Safeguard remain the same.
Charm: The affected's Attack is reduced by 2
Splash: The affected's first action is replaced by Splash.
Encore: The trainer selects a move that was used in the round just gone. That move will be repeated throughout the next round.
Struggle: The same as Splash.
Tickle: The affected's Attack and Defense are lowered by 1.
Mimic: A move used by the opponent in the previous round must be used in the next round, in any action.
Salute: The next action is replaced by the affected saluting one of the Wobbuffet statues. The saluter has +1 in all stats.
Renounce: Same as Salute, but reversed. The affected turns bitterly away from the statues and all stats are reduced by 1.
As you can see, I have improved upon my design. I will be sending out Kazebouzu, my male Shuppet with Insomnia. You, MeLo, may attack first.
LET'S BLOW SOME SH*T UP!
Dibs on ref!
-Grey
How many pokemon will we use? And thanks Grey!
I send out Loki Black, my green and blue male Sneasel! He has a Keen Eye
Go!
*throws*
Loki, Snarl. Then coat the arena with Blizzard! Finally use Faint attack to try and dodge + attack!
We'll go for 6 vs 6. No OHKO moves.
Alright Kaze, use Will-o-wisp, then Curse and finish with Pursuit.
Yes, a bunch of improvements, but none too complex.
i Judge your entertainment!
Entertaining quotes!
From textsfromlastnight.com:
(518): I legitimately just tried to piss above my head. I got to my chest at highest. There's piss everywhere.
(801): I can't help but be optimistic. I'm like a ball of slutty sunshine.
Quick question though -- how, exactly, are Destiny Bond, Counter, and Mirror Coat s'posed to work in this fight? Would they randomly take over one of the battlers' moves?
-Grey
They just take effect at the end of the round for use in the next round as if they had been used. Use my match against Oslo for basis.

Round ONE
We enter the great Shrine of Wobbuffet -- a plateau dedicated to the great wall of a pokemon, and the obscure foreign comedian he's based on. Two large statues of the pokemon in question stand tall on each side of the arena, and recently-returned veteran Rossymore, who's obsession with this particular pokemon has caused many a professional to narrow their brows in discomfort, has decided to challenge one of the three heads of the entire league -- MeLoVeGhOsTs, a man with an odd love of alt-caps.
Rossy chooses his first pokemon -- what appears to be a tiny ball covered in a purple blanket: a shuppet named Kazebouzu. Ghosts follows up with a type advantage, the off-colored Loki Black. The handsome referee blows his whistle, and the battle officially begins!
Loki begins the match by swiftly slashing at his foe and snarling immediately after; the effect of the attack leaves Kaze slightly uncomfortable as his elemental prowess drops slightly. However, the ghost remains eager to be approved by his master, and burns the ice weasel with a weak orb of fire.
Loki : -4PP, +3% Brn, -1 Atk // -5PP, -8HP, -1 SpA : Kaze
Loki is already starting to hate this spectre, and decides to cloak the arena in a chilling ice storm in retalliation. The unsleepable ghost, meanwhile, remains stoic as his own health slowly deteriorates. The blizzard overwhelms the arena for quite a bit, but Kaze continues to not notice it. After a few more moments of meditation, Kaze finally opens his eyes and shoots daggers at Loki Black -- cursing the swift ice pokemon quite well.
Loki : -9PP, -1HP, Cursed // -25HP, -12HP : Kaze
Loki begins feeling chills as the curse dwells deeper and deeper in his frame, but still he remains poised to take down this ghost. He quickly cloaks himself in the shadows, but Kaze keeps him on lock. The weasel, thinking all is well, strikes the ghost from behind, but said ghost manages to counterattack all the same! Albeit, the attack is pretty weak from Kaze's end.
Loki : -3PP, -1HP, -6HP, -10HP, -5PP // -4PP, -8HP : Kaze
The Wobbuffet statues then bless the two combatants justly.
REF NOTES
~Burn victims suffer a 10% drop to their attack rating as well as a loss of 1HP per action; relaxing on an action will result in no HP lost~
~Victims of Curse will suffer a 10HP *and* a 5PP loss at the end of each round until they are fainted~
~Rossymore attacks first~

Ooh, I like what you've done Grey. Instead of just one Pokemon receiving the effects of the statues, both of them receive it! Makes things more interesting, that's for sure.
Well, since I'm encored, I won't be doing much, so Pursuit all the way! Don't let it out of your sight!
Also, MLG, don't forget that the first action for Loki will be to salute the statues.

Round TWO
Loki begins the second round in a cold sweat, but he keeps the spirit going as he stares at the Wobbuffet statue on his side of the arena and gives it a brief salute. It seems calming to the cunning creature, and the statue blesses him with a 10 percent stat increase across the board! -- nullifying the burn's cut to his attack power. Kaze, meanwhile, is locked into a single move, and decides to go with the only attack he had actually performed last round -- pursuit. The damage is once again minimalized by Loki's type -- and even more minimalized by Loki's bulk.
Loki :+1 All Stats, -1HP, -2HP // -2PP : Kaze
Loki is eager to counterattack and send this poor excuse for a spectre packing, but amidst the advice of his trainer, he remains stoic as Kaze tackles an unmoving victim. Loki smirks from upon the floor and counters with a swift retallitory strike!
Loki : -5PP, -1HP, -2HP // -2PP, -15HP : Kaze
The off-colored sneasel strikes again with a dark pulse, setting Kaze ablaze with the dark flame while the ghost can do nothing about it. When the flames finally subside, Kaze weakly tackles Loki once more.
Loki : -5PP, -1HP, -2HP, -10HP, -5PP // -13HP, -2PP : Kaze
Kaze and Loki's blessings soon fade, only to be replaced with a new set.

Round THREE
As Loki hobbles around like a foolish fool, Kaze takes this opportunity to shed some light on the shrine. In a breathtaking move, the ghost pokemon summons a shimmering sunlight to envelope the skies. Loki, meanwhile, continues to splash in the non-existant waters around him.
Loki : -1PP, -1HP // -7PP, Sunny Day activated : Kaze
SUNNY DAY : 6 actions
Loki's cold sweat continues to pour down as the sunlight beams into his eyes. His focus, however, remains strong as he calls forth a great ball of deathly strength. Before he tosses it, though, Kaze envelopes himself in an aura of a similar energy. The shadow ball connects, exploding upon doing so. Kaze's limp frame fails to falter.
Loki : -6PP, -1HP // -12HP, -10PP : Kaze
SUNNY DAY : 6 actions
Feeling very confident (especially since his foe doesn't appear to be doing anything at all), Loki hurls a blade of dark energy at the sock-puppet ghost. The blade slices through Kaze, knocking him out. Loki smirks heavily before feeling a piercing sensation in his chest. BOOM!, his frail body hits the ground and he too is out of the battle.
Loki : -6PP, -1HP, KOed // -7HP, KOed, -10PP : Kaze
REF NOTES
~While Sunny Day is in effect, all Fire-type moves will deal 50% more damage, while all Water-type moves will deal 50% less. Solar Beam will charge instantly, and all healing moves involving the sunlight will be twice as powerful.~
~Rossymore summons first, followed by MeLoVeGhOsTs.~

I will get on my knees, bow down and salute the right statue.
Then wait for it to hit you and Payback! Finish with Dark Pulse.
Splash, Dark Pulse, Shadowball.
Use Sunny Day, then Destiny Bond x2.
Pssst. Rossy.
My apologies. I seem to be a bit out of it these days.
I'll send out Nosburn, my male Skuntank with Stench.
Here's one of my E4 team who needs to spread her wings and get some action.
Go!
*tosses*
Ninke Li! Female (duh) and Overcoat.
Alright, let's start with Taunt, so there's no shenanigans. Then Sub (15%), then Poison Jab.
Last edited by Rossymore; 4th March 2012 at 09:15 AM.
U-turn! To Ichimaru Gin, my male Sableye (Keen Eye). Then Snatch that Substitute and finish with Will-o-wisp.
If U-turn takes two actions, then just Dynamicpunch!
Mud Slap first! Firepunch and Low Sweep!
Double Team, then Flamethrower, then Toxic.
Boom-bam.
Last edited by Rossymore; 10th March 2012 at 07:19 AM.
Confuse Ray, then keep the confusion in place with two Signal Beams!
Splash. Then Dynamicpunch. Then Facade!
During Splash, use Hone Claws, then attack with Nigh Slash x2.
While he's renouncing, hit him with another Dynamicpunch! Then Dig underground, wait for him to fire attack or be confused and then hit it!
Renounce, then Facade and Power Gem!
While I would love to go for Explosion, alas it is impossible, therefore I shall go for Rain Dance, then Memento. *salutes Nosburn*
Power Gem! Then Will-o-wisp and another Power Gem.
I send out Chris Xeroxx my male Kecleon with Color Change.
Fake Out, Nasty Plot, Ancientpower.
Okay then, take that Fake Out, as I can't be bothered to Protect and stuff, then let's U-Turn to Hakuryu, my female Dragonair with Shed Skin, then finishing with Flamethrower.
Renounce. Then Skill Swap and Blizzard!
Splash. Flamethrower, then Ancientpower!
Okay, Struggle that bad boy, then Attract him. Finish with Light Screen.
Ancientpower x3 IIRC!
Aqua Tail. Then Grass Knot, then Flamethrower.
Okay, let's slow this thing down with Thunder Wave, then use Dragon Pulse twice.
Shadow Sneak + Aqua Tail. Ancientpower.
If you're paralyzed, Mirror Coat should do the trick.
So, what's this doing over here, then?
I mean, sure it kinda fits, but not exactly.
The log says Grey moved it. I have no idea why (I hope it was an accident), but it's back where it belongs.
