As the downpour continues, Slash tries to pull of an evasive maneuver by getting airborne. However, his wimpy waterlogged wings are too wet to work as well as he would have wanted (alliteration = never excessive), which prevents him from flying more than a foot off the muddy ground. Nonetheless, he’s still able to fire off one hell of a Bug Buzz, causing poor Snap to wail in pain as the sound waves pummel his eardrums. His fangs again glistening with icy energy, Snap takes another bite out of Slash’s ankle. Scythers taste so much better after they’ve been left to soak.

Slash keeps up the heat, firing off another painful Bug Buzz. Snap whiners and then Hustles forward in an attempt to land a powerful dual strike; however, his ability causes him to mistake Slash for the big empty patch of emptiness right next to him. As a result, Snap ends up accomplishing a whole lot of nothing by tackling air instead.

Once again, Slash does a careful twirl mid-air, calling upon a number of clones to protect him. However, since the rain is still falling, those clones are decimated as quickly as they materialized, leaving Slash all sad and ronery once again. Taking advantage of his opponent’s sudden vulnerability, Snap spews out a stinky swathe of halitosis. Slash tries to pinch his nose against the stench, but realizes he’d probably end up cutting it off instead, so he decides not to.
With that, Slash's Safeguard winks out.
