Working Near Spouses

Sorry, been hectic folks.

I got my wife a job where I work. Originally it was a seasonal call center position, but my good friend and head of the call center changed some stuff so she got a part time job with benefits instead.

She's in the same building as me, but a different department of course.

Anyone else work with or near their spouses?

I'm still deciding whether I like it. I mean, dinner is never ready when I get home now...

In NYC, we used to work from a block to 4 blocks apart, in Midtown. Sometimes we'd meet for lunch, but my schedule was super ridiculous, so I'd have really plan that out. That and she would get am hour while I'd get an half hour. I also worked till like 8-9 at times, where she'd get off work and go to dance class or something. So, it was more a realization that I'd hardly ever see her, even though we were in the same part of town.

Guess I never really thought about if I liked it or not.

I don't think I'd ever be able to date any of my coworkers, so I flat-out refuse to. My ladyfriend is still in college though (because Grey likes them young), so I rarely see her during the day. She comes over at night and on weekends usually though. Whenever I'm not closing the store.

My bf and I spent 2 years of Uni pretty much working together. Both doing the same course, but I was the year ahead of him. We were in some of the same ensembles, but he specialises in orchestras whilst I spend more time with choirs. It worked well that way; we had enough time working together and apart so we weren't treading on eachothers' feet.

Might change this year. We're both doing postgrad courses, but again mine's choral and his is orchestral. And mine's an MA, his is a postgrad certificate. So we won't have lectures together, but we will be living together. We'll see how that goes.

I used to work with Ben at the animal shelter, but I was in the cats and he was in the dogs so we only really saw each other in the morning and at lunch, then a the end of the day when he was done and helped me take care of the cats. It was really nice and surprisingly I did not get tired of seeing him all the time, everyone always says you're supposed to but I never did ;D

My fiance and I work for the same company and technically in the same division but on other ends of the spectrum (I do QA and he's a programmer for QA Tools). We only interact during our afternoon walks and when I get bored and bother him. We used to drive in together but more recently, we've been taking separate cars since he goes in earlier

What happen?

I worked at my boyfriend's family business for a couple months between jobs. I liked it, but I think we're a rare couple that find it tough to get sick of each other <3 Now we work pretty far away from each other and it sucks

As I was about to respond to this thread, a car accident happened right outside my window o_O

My boyfriend works about a mile from where I work, which works for us. In the foreseeable future, if I get into a Ph.D. program and have to move far away, he's going to come follow me and try to get a job at the university I'll be attending! We'll probably also do a wedding if we can before we leave
