Default The Midnight Hour - RL v. Oslo [Ref: Grey]

Alright, gents and ladies, I'm opening up a new gym since the Elite 4 dealie never got off the ground. I need two battlers to duke it out and see if this gym's worth it's time.

It's dark. Very dark, in fact. Light comes from only five white orbs on each side, and having them destroyed will only lower the visibility further. The orbs are quite durable, however, so it will take quite a few attacks before they bust. Each time an orb is destroyed on your side, your visibility will be lowered by 10 percent until there is only a 50 percent chance of even your most accurate moves hitting their marks.

In addition to that little detail, there are also four mounds of ditto clay on each side -- each mound is designed to reshape itself into the first pokémon that attacks it, making a nearly identical clone of that pokémon with only 10HP, making it even harder to tell which pokémon is which.

The battles here will always be 3-on-3, but there's a twist. The challenger (in this case, the first poster) will choose a team of six pokémon that may or may not participate. Then the next challenger (second poster) will choose their own team of six. Once the two teams have been revealed, they will then PM the referee the three pokémon they wish to use in the battle.

The three pokémon will then battle each other at once, but you will still only be able to use three attacks per round. The three attacks don't have to come from the same pokémon, nor do they have to come from each pokémon. Choose your attacks carefully.

In this battle arena, the use of Double Team is greatly advised against. The white orbs have nasty habit of shooting a beam of light into any pokémon with a twin, causing light (but destructive, nonetheless) damage to the offender and destroying the clones outright.

    Round ZER0
Welcome one and everyone to the Midnight Hour: the latest gym from your favorite Elite Former. I spent a lot of time messing with the BBCode to get the formatting right for this battle, so let's please make wonderful use of it, aye?

    More things happening!

    And again.

    THE MIDNIGHT HOUR
    RAZOR_LEAF v. OSLO
    Three-on-Three

    Round 0NE
Welcome all, to The Midnight Hour: a gym arena with a unique battle system. The challengers, Oslo and Razor, summon their team of six pokémon each and three of those six pokémon on each side step forward, prepared to face their foes. Team Oslo stare cautiously at Zaraki Kenpachi -- the famed black gyarados once belonging to Elite Former MeLoVeGhOsTs. He lets out a fierce roar, and all three members (including Fracktail, who is both larger than the gyarados and made of steel) shiver back in fright. The battle's moderator, Grey, blows the whistle, and all six pokémon prepare for battle!

Thiol is the first to advance, ready to sucker punch Fracktail -- but the iron snake isn't even attacking yet, thus giving the skuntank nothing to shoot for. Jeremiah snickers to himself, snapping his gloved fingertips and shooting a volley of week electricity at Thiol, paralyzing him instantly.

Claudia and Zaraki step forward this time, eager to bring honor to their home teams. The slightly faster Claudia snaps her fingers in a method similar to her husband's, summoning a large blade of electricity to rain down from the sky and stab Zaraki. He cries out as several thousand volts flow through his insides, and retaliates by slamming the bug girl with his stone tail! Critical hit!

The professor wants to avenge his wife (who still can't acknowledge that they're even married), but leaves it in the hands(?) of Fracktail... who aims for Thiol. Fracktail summons a spiral of earth energy to shiver beneath Thiol's feet, dealing a great deal of damage for the dark skunk. Kiki, meanwhile, takes her aim and gives Claudia a good slap... dealing nothing compared to the blackdos' stupid stone tail.

    Ref Notes:

~Attacks don't go off at the same time unless commanded to -- think of it like a normal battle only with three pokémon using a combined three attacks instead of one using three.~
    ~While
paralyzed, Thiol will have a 25% chance of being unable to attack; his speed will also be reduced by 75%.~

    THE MIDNIGHT HOUR
    RAZOR_LEAF v. OSLO
    Three-on-Three

    Round TW0
Jeramiah continues the trend of malicious assault by striking Kiki with a terrible batch of poisons designed to get stronger and stronger as time goes on. Kiki takes the hit well, but it is ultimately Thiol who retaliates against team Oslo by sending a torrent of fiery chains to wrap around Fracktail.

Jeremiah then turns his gaze towards the heinous water dragon -- the one responsible for their intimidation -- and fries him with a fierce bolt of lightning. The flash dissipates and Zaraki is left to ponder his life choices as Kiki revenges him by striking the bug's wife with a nasty avalanche.

Claudia steps up to the mound this time, feeling the need to upstage this boisterous bug ally of hers. With the snap of her fingers, she summons a powerful storm of lightning to surge down and strike Zaraki. He already can feel himself hating life, but ultimately retaliates with a nasty flamethrower. The scorching flames crawl about the arena floor before enveloping Claudia and dealing harsh damage.

    Ref Notes:

    ~While under the effects of
toxic poison, Kiki will take 1HP damage per action multiplied by the number of rounds it has been in play.~
    ~While

    THE MIDNIGHT HOUR
    RAZOR_LEAF v. OSLO
    Three-on-Three

    Round THREE
With the weight of the entire round on her back, the Lady Buggenfield decides to end the intimidating gyarados' reign by raining (hah!) down a fierce thunderbolt. The water serpent howls in pain as the electricity surges through his body. Zaraki gets her back, though, and he does it well. With his energy at maximum, he fires out a fiercely powerful hyper beam that manages to knock Claudia into the shadows!

Jeremiah worries for his would-be wife, almost willing to disobey his master's orders in order to get vengeance on Zaraki. However, Claudia's sudden reappearance calms his qualms as she summons a terrifying lightning storm upon the water serpent as he slowly recharges his energy. Kiki, meanwhile, focuses on the other serpent in the arena -- Fracktail -- and strikes with a nasty focus blast.

With Zaraki down for the count, Claudia turns her attention to Thiol -- who has successfully done nothing this entire round. She hovers next to the skuntank and summons a faint humming sound that eventually drives him mad with pain! Fortunately, it's not too much as Kiki delivers yet another strong focus blast to the steelix.

Ah my bad. I assumed they would all attack at the same time, but as you said the attacks don't all have to be one each it would make sense that they still go in 1, 2, 3 order. Oh well. Pay more attention in future.

    Thiol, Flame Thrower on Fracktail
    Kiki, Avalanche on Claudia
    Zaraki, Flame Thrower on Jeremiah

Also Grey, if you want to use standard sprites so your reffing matches up then go for it.

The end stats still have Jeremiah's and Claudia's abilities flipped. :3

    Jeremiah, use Toxic on Kiki!
Jeremiah, then use Thunderbolt on Zaraki.
Claudia, finish with Thunder on Zaraki.

Claudia, it's all you: use Thunderbolt on Zaraki, Thunder on Zaraki and then Bug Buzz on Thiol.

Sub: If the Pokemon you're targeting has clones up, Shock Wave 'em goodbye.
