    Cool Fire Emblem Awakening

Now that it has finally hit Australia, I've been able to sink my teeth into one of two 3DS games I've been most hyped about (the other being the eventual Smash Bros). Anyone else playing it? What's your verdict?

I love the StreetPass team and all the SpotPass features, and would be happy to pay for more maps. Usually I'm against paid additions, but in this case I really feel as though it's an addition to the core, rather than simply missing content.

The only unfortunate thing, and it's not entirely unfortunate, is that I figured myself enough of a FE veteran (two years, woo!) to tackle the 'hard' mode. I'm getting absolutely killed, and finding myself resorting to new tactics to prevent a single loss on the field. It's been really interesting, and quite satisfying when I finally win! Can't imagine what lunatic mode will be like...

Awakening is SO good. Best Fire Emblem game yet. TONS of replay value, and plenty of DLC to keep anyone occupied. The only complaint I have is that... well... it's kinda easy to overpower your foes in the main game once you Second Seal your characters into different classes and have them mow down almost everyone in your path. Again, the DLC kinda remedies that, but it's still kinda disappointing.

I found that in Sacred Stones, too: once I'd juiced up Cormag and Amelia, they could basically two-man every stage. Fortunately, I haven't hit that point yet. Also, I have a queer obsession with trying to get Donnel in on the fight at the worst possible time, so that's probably slowing me down, too.

I've played it for five hours so far and while it's a very good game I don't know what would make it better than any other old Fire Emblem game. It's more of the old, proved formula.

Edit: I'm more than halfway through now and my reply still stands. A really good game, fun and well balanced but not really that much better than the previous titles, especially the one on the Wii.
