...or the return of Old Rare.
If you haven't heard of this game yet, basically, a handful of former Rare employees who quit after the Microsoft takeover have come together to form a new studio, and their first game is essentially Banjo-Threeie but with the bear and bird replaced with a chameleon and bat.
From what I've seen, it definitely seems to recapture the magic of Banjo-Kazooie, but that could just be the music tickling my nostalgia bone (David Wise and Grant Kirkhope are doing the composing). One thing I've noticed though, that seems a bit strange, is the shadows. In most 3D platformers, there's a shadow right underneath your character which isn't just for aesthetics, it has the important function of showing where you're going to land. In this game, there's a shadow, but it's not directly underneath the characters. Hopefully that changes.
Anyway, thoughts?
