When Pokemon creeps into everyday life...
Do you ever find yourself making a random reference to Pokemon, or some other fandom, that would go over someone else's head? Or when you're doing something not related to video games and you just sort of say something random that has to do with a fandom? (although in the spirit of General Discussion, try to bring up Pokemon-related things primarily)
I was inspired to do this because I was cooking some gluten-free ravioli that I found at the Market Basket, and for some reason, I just sang out loud to myself, "I'm on the road to Obesity City..." (the old Viridian City song from the anime)
It came from seriously nowhere. Haha. I think when me and my sibling were quite young, we used to sing that and laugh, and it may have gone, "I'm on the road to Obesity City, I'm gonna grow bigger than a whale" or something like that.
Also, for some reason, at the gay pubs around here, it's very common when someone walks in for somebody to say, "Oh a wild _____ (name) appeared!" Even people who I don't think have ever played or watched Pokemon will say it.
On an unrelated-to-Pokemon note, a month or so ago my ex and I did one of those group adventure things where you try to find your way out of the room and, after trying everything to open the locked door, I just said "Alohomora?" and it opened. I was amused.
