I have a question: a pokemon of mine won a Master Rank contest, but now I do not know how to display its portrait in the museum.

I have spoken to the Artist in Fallarbor and the museum currator - who must I talk to?

When you win the master, after you're done, the artist comes up to you and sayes that he painted really good and that it should be in a museum and u tell him to take it there and then it's in the museum.

Well, unfortunately, just winning Master Rank is not *quite* good enough. You have to win it by a wide margin, something I'm still working on, although I've won several Master Rank contests already.

Don't worry, problem solved; after winning it again, I got the painting.

Also, instead of a ribbon, my prize was a Luxury Ball (this was the Beauty Contest). The other contests may well have other prizes.

don't think so, I won the tough contest 4 times, and all they ever give me is Luxury Balls.

Did you talk to the guy @ the Art Museum before you won the Master Contest?

Well, I guess I had completely spaced about the museum since I had played the Roms... I had never gone to the left of Lilycove's Dep. Store in my real Ruby. So I completely forgot about it until a few days ago.

Man, wasn't I stupid? I was completely surprised once I saw it again, "What the heck is this building doing here? It wasn't here before..." Lol... Pretty stupid. I just spaced and never headed to the left.

    M'eh...

Well I've got Tough, Beauty and Cool paintings up now. All I need is smart and cute. Anyone got suggestions of what kind of pokemon, movesets and berries I should use?

Barboach is good for cute. Mud/Water Sport combos are awesome. I use Roselia for Smart, but any psychic is good for that. Let's see... You could easily use Skitty/Delcatty in cute.

I have all 5 paintings up. For that, you get some glass sculpture for my secret base from the old man on the second floor.

Azurill was practically MADE for cute contests! The majority of is level-up and bred moves are all cute moves. All its egg moves are cute moves too (Except for Slam, but Azurill learns that too at level 15... why is a level up move an EGG MOVE?)

    My award-winning Azurill has -

    Water Gun
    Tail Whip
    Refresh
    Charm

Refresh helps up condition, which helps in getting more hearts. Charm for some Jam, plus the Charm + Tail Whip is a very good combo, especially if you're constantly stuck in last. Water Gun is especially decent if you fully maxed out on Refresh, giving 6 hearts (not including the audience bonus). If you really need to be protected from the other contestants' jams, use Rest over Tail Whip. Charm + Rest is still a combo.

However, these are all cute moves. It's not really a con... but it kind-of is because, sometimes, you need to control the audience by using a non-cute move.

How did you manage to breed refresh onto Azurill? I can't find any chains to breed it on...

You pair up a Corsola that knows Refresh with a female Marill/Azumarill holding a Sea Incense. The resulting baby will be an Azurill with Refresh.

For cuteness, blend Watmel berries at Lilycove for the best Brown (a cuteness increasing) pokeblock. You will only get one Watmerl from the berry - master's wife, and they grow slowly, so ther next best Browns come from Magos and Greppas (done at Lilycove).

For Smartness, the best are made from Durins (LiteBlue). They are just as hard to get as Watmels, so next-best LiteBlues come from Rabutas and Aguavs (all done at Lilycove, of course.)

If you DO get Watmels or Durins (or Pamtrees or Belues too), always keep at least one free to replant - after being given one, you'll never be given another.

    For cool use:

    Skarmory@ Red Scarf
    Peck
    Swift
    Double Team
    Agility

and use Double Team, Agility, Swift, Double Team, Agility in that order to completely own cool contests.

For a cool Skarmory, I'd replace Peck with Steel Wing.

If used after a pokemon who used a Cool move, you get triple points.

Wahey! I got my glass ornament yesterday! I expected the contests to be harder, but there ya go. All I need now is to beat the battle tower and get 13 more pokemon! On a side note, I nearly beat the level 100 room with level 64 pokemon but the seven trainer had a stupid gyarados which thrashed my team (pun intended). *sighs* So close...

Hmmm, ok. I've beaten all contests except Smart. I'm having so much trouble trying to find a good smart-combo Pokemon. Any suggestions?

You don't really need the rare berries to win the contests... the middle rated ones (i.e. Kelpsy) are fine for maxing out one or two conditions on a particular pokémon. My Wailord's Beauty stopped increasing after 11 Indigo pokéblock (level 23-24), so I'm guessing it's on a 0-255 scale. He waltzed through the beauty contests and got into the museum with Maxed out beauty, a blue scarf and:

    Surf
    Dive
    Rollout
    Rest

Surf followed by Dive is a combo, and both have other uses (Dive protects from being startled and Surf gets extra hearts if it follows a weak appeal. Rollout is good for sabotaging the excitement level, and Rest is a good neutral one.

Got him working on the other contests to see how far he can go. Currently has Normal level Coolness and Toughness as well as his swag from Beauty.

I got the Cute, Buety, and Cool art in the museum, but I can't get the Smart and Tough in there.

I beat the Tough many times in the Master Rank many time, but I still don't have the painting of my Carvahna! Can anyone help me?

I just figured out that you must win by a landslide.

This reminds me of when I was trying to get my Gardevoir's painting for Beauty. (Yes, beauty.) It took me two wins to get it. All the others took me one.

Erm, what the heck is a landslide?

BTW, what do you think a Camerupt should learn for the Tough or Beauty contest?

For tough contests, go with Aron. Harden/Take Down is a killer.

Just wondering, does anyone have a really good moveset for a cool Sceptile? I have:

    - Leaf Blade
    - Hyper Beam
    - Fury Cutter
    - Earthquake
    @Red Scarf

I beat the Masters with this, but I want to get my sceptile's picture into the museum, so I need a slightly better moveset.
