Default Berry "Bug" is Curable (READ!)

As you know that after 1 year in Pokemon RS, your berries are unable to grow anymore, right? Well, guess what: you've got help, from something you didn't know. Don't contact Nintendo about this when your "battery" dies...

Here's what I mean. In the Nintendo Power issue #177, on page 110, it states this...:

    Transfer Jirachi to Your Team

    ...blah, blah, blah
As a bonus when you import Jirachi to your Ruby or Sapphire Pak, you'll receive a small blessing for your berry gardens in the GBA games--they'll keep producing the useful fruits FOREVER. If your berry gardens dry up after your first year of gameplay, you'll want to have Jirachi do a little spring gardening for you!

Meaning, when you get the Bonus Disk of Pokemon Colosseum with your pre-order, transfer Jirachi from this disk will grant you to produce more berries by fixing the "bug" in RS!

I got the GBA and GCN when they both came out. You just have to work harder to get what you want.

No. You don't get any rare berries throught the bonus disk. It just fixes the bug by downloading a code to your Pokemon RS pak.

    Default England?

I think its good Nintendo will sort out the bug.
Does anyone know whether this bonus disc is coming to the UK or not.

Plus can anyone tell me the date that it is out is the UK.

    Thanks for any help.

Actually, Serebii.net states that the Ganlon Berry is attached to the promotional Jirachi. I don't think they state it right on the page about Colosseum, but on the page about the Ganlon Berry, you'll see it says "attached to promotional Jirachi".

I have had my game for a year and it still works fine. Guess I am lucky (same for my friend)

Define 'works'. The bug doesn't stop the game from functioning; it just stops berries from growing, and other date-related events. The most obvious sign that the bug is in effect would be in Pacifidlog, when you get a happiness-related TM from the man with two Zigzagoon, and then talk to him later. See, you can't get a TM from him every day; it takes a few days for him to get more. He'll tell you how many more days. If he says something outrageous, like 104 days, that means you're feeling the sting of the berry bug.

104 days, that was bad, now it's down to 18 days.
BTW Poryhedron that guy has 2 azurill not zigzagoons.

As well as this and non-growing berries, the 7 berry givers wont give out berries at all.

Its probably like the eon ticket sort of. If you mix records or something to that effect the other person gets it to.

I was farily surprised when my friend got an eon ticket just from mixing records.

Although I'm quite happy they include it with colloseum. I was worried about when I came to the 1 year mark, but I guess I can sleep soundly know. !

Okay, i haven't been in here a while so i know this will probably be counted as spam or something but.....May i ask what this 'berry bug' is, what are its effects and are there any other remedies???

Could you not just get nintendo to replace the watch battery within the cartridge???? (I thought they did that for GSC but that battery has lasted forever)

It's not a problem with the internal battery, it's a programming error in the game that causes the internal clock to stop moving after a year. Thus, all clock-based events, such as the Lilycove Lottery and growing berries, will no longer continue to work.

The Jirachi promo disc will correct the error, however.

It's not a "berry bug". It's a CLOCK bug. The berries stop growing after a year, and the bug messes with the clock due to faulty coding/programming.

Default I also heard about this....

,but I am wondering, does it affect ALL games? My guess is that it does, and maybe an elusive few will not warrant the nasty bug. I just wish that you didn't have to pre-order any thing in order to get the bonus disk. (which I very much want)

So that's the wish. Whatever. Mine came with a Salac Berry.
