Finally, it has arrived.

World of Warcraft Beta Signups This Week!
At 6:00 pm PST on Wednesday, January 28th, the signup period for the World of Warcraft Beta Test will officially begin. We will provide a link to the beta-test application right here in the news section at that time. Testers are not going to be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis, so you will be able to submit an application and receive equal consideration anytime during the signup period, which will end on Wednesday, February 4th at 6:00 pm PST. Please note that multiple submissions from the same household will result in complete disqualification.

For this initial phase of the World of Warcraft beta test, we will only be able to accept applications from Canada, Korea, and the US. The test for Europe and other countries around the world will happen later this year. Please do not contact us for further information regarding the beta test; we will be posting a FAQ in the days ahead.

The Europeans need to have loads of different translations. Why can't they release a British version THEN all the other versions?

This is an American company, so duh, they're going to test the American Server first. Then they'll get to testing the European one.

I don't see people whining that Koreans got first pick for the Lineage II beta...

They don't have the server support for Europe yet.

Given the high sensitivity of the World of Warcraft beta test, hotmail and yahoo email addresses will not be accepted. Your email address will be the primary means of contact concerning the beta test. Please make sure to double check that the email address you provide is valid and will be for the foreseeable future

I was pretty angry about this, but then I realised its only emails ending in @yahoo.com or @hotmail.com, so any other free email service should still work, unless GFraizer is telling a lie

I can't wait to see how they utilize the "Keep paying after you buy the game" engine.

And the popular "Make constant upgrades to the game, but hold off on the bug-fixing until you've got enough to warrent an expansion pack" engine as well.

I heard it's gonna be fun! Like Everquest!

And isn't Everquest making a RTS? Hmmmmm...

Better than the "Never make the game because the servers cost will drain any chance for making a profit" engine. SERVERS COST MONEY. GMS COST MONEY. Get a job.

Final Fantasy XI was bug free, and Blizzard has very few bugs.

Every game critic is saying it is 300x better than everquest and it was in alpha stage. Oh yea, by the way Mike this is BLIZZARD we are talking about...

EverQuest was amazing at the time. It was far from average. However it is average now, WoW promises to be amazing since its less completly MMORPG and sometimes they say it feels like playing a single player rpg.
