Due to some threads regarding the berry glitch (aka the time glitch), I believe any newcomer whose Ruby/Sapphire games have encountered the berry glitch and wants help desperately should read this little FAQ before posting about the glitch.
Q: So, what is the Berry Glitch?
A: All I can say is that in Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire, berry trees will stop producing berries after you've played your game for one year.
Q: What?! What else will happen?
A: The berry-glitch will affect all time-related events in Ruby/Sapphire, such as:
- Not being able to obtain berries from the Berry Master (as well as everyone else who gives you berries)
- At Lilycove City, you won't be able to draw the lottery ticket anymore
- After you become the Pokémon League Champion, there is a rare chance that a report of a Pokémon outbreak in a specific area will appear on TV. But after the berry glitch occurs, there will be no more TV reports like that.
Q: Will this affect the way Pokémon will appear in the wild? What about battling them?
A: No. All main game play activities, such as collecting or battling Pokémon are not affected by the glitch.
Q: Is there a way to fix the glitch?
A: Yes! There are three ways to obtain a berry patch that will update your Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire game pak(s):
- Add Jirachi to Your Team from your Bonus Disc
If you pre-order Pokémon Colosseum, you will receive a Bonus Disc which contains a special gift -- Jirachi! You will automatically receive the berry patch upgrade when you use a Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable to transfer Jirachi to your Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire Game Pak.- Play Pokémon Colosseum
You'll automatically receive the berry patch upgrade by using one of the connective features when you link Pokémon Ruby or Pokémon Sapphire to Pokémon Colosseum using a Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable.- Visit EB Games or GameStop
Take your Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire Game Pak(s) to a Nintendo GameCube interactive display at either EB Games or GameStop to download the FREE upgrade.

Also, feel free to hang around the forums a bit and don't be afraid to ask questions (apart from those I've answered above)
