Has anyone actually gotten all 69 repeat trainers to their 5th round? I've done most, but still have to manage it for at least Hex Maniac Valerie (Mt Pyre) and Young Couple Lois & Hal (Abandoned Ship).

Is it possible that this might be a trigger for something??

I'd like to know if anyone has ever battled a gym leader more than once.

I don't know if it triggers something, but here's who I have completed:

Dragon Tamer: Nicholas (Meteor Falls) gave me dragon claw
Bug Maniac: Brandon (Rt. 120) gave me silver powder

I guess every time you beat them, the trainers will give you items.
Has anyone else received items from trainers like this?

You can't fight the Gym Leaders more than once.

It would be cool if you could rebattle Gym Leaders. ^^

So after you fight a trainer 5 times, you can never fight them again?

if you can't fight them more than once, then what's the point of listing them under trainer's eyes?

No, you can fight them *more* than 5 times (I must have had dozens of battles each with the ones on R104, R121 and R117...), but the pokémon they have don't change after the fifth time round. Some of them have held items that can be stolen in the fifth round and later set. It's just that some of the more out-of-the-way ones won't come up for repeat battles very often, even if you visit them deliberately. Hex Maniac Valerie is a particular example.

Does anyone have a list of the items recieved by trainers beaten after the fifth round? That would help alot.

You don't receive an item from the trainer, you have to steal it from one of his pokemon using Covet or Thief.

    Here is a list:

Black Belt, steal from Machamp, Blackbelt Nob, Route 115
Silver Powder, steal from Masquerain, Bug Maniac Brandon, Route 120
Dragon Fang, steal from Shelgon, Dragon Tamer Nicolas, Meteor Falls
Smoke Ball, steal from Weezing, Ninja Boy Lao, Route 113

You can steal the item every time the trainer challenges you.
So far I have more than 20 Silver Powders from Bug Maniac Brandon.
