They only increase a certain Type's moves by x1.1
Crunch = 80 Base Power (Non STAB)
Crunch = 88 Base Power (Non STAB + Blackglasses)
Crunch = 120 Base Power (STAB)
Crunch = 132 Base Power (STAB + Blackglasses)
You can see for yourself if you would like to use them or not. I like Leftovers or Stat Berries for competitive battles because I think a lot more people will find them useful compared to those other items.

Belly Drum Charizards used to switch in on Choice Band Dugtrios on RSbot when the Dugtrios had used Earthquake, forcing the Dugtrio to switch and giving the Charizard a free turn to Belly Drum.
However, some tricky people decided to equip their Dugtrios with Soft Sand instead in order to fool others into thinking that the Dugtrio they were facing had a Choice Band attached, and thus their Charizards, instead of getting a free turn to Belly Drum, got a mouthful of Rock Slides.

The Dugtrio could have Leichi Berry instead of Choice Band. Silk Scarf is useful for Exploders.

It could have, yeah, except if the Liechi Berry activated, the opponent would know that it wasn't a CB Dugtrio and they would know to switch their Charizard out immediately.
