"Fan Forum E-Zine"

Hey. You may or may not know that two or so months ago we over in Fan Fiction kicked off the "Fan Fic Forum E-Zine" which is basicly a small online magazine we post in the writers lounge. We feature reviews, interviews (which are encompassed in the "spotlights"), articles on writing and trends in fics and the like. Now, I was thinking to myself: "This thing would look great with pictures." Err, wait, that's not it. I was thinking "Wouldn't it be great if we could make more people happy with the Zine?" (honest, I was!) and I thought also that the name was a bit too much. So if it was a Fan Forum thing in general, I could take one F out! Anyway, there is no "Artists Lounge" so you don't really have a place to do some of the fun stuff that goes down in the writers lounge (things about... writing... so in this case I guess it would be things about... arting), so if you were in the 'Zine you'd get to have some Artist articles and stuff. I can think of loads of articles and things that would be good in the 'Zine.

If anyone out there has a penchant for writing as well as drawing (particularly if they have a penchant for writing about drawing) and want to do some articles or whatnot for the E-zine, PM me. The current E-zine is up in the Writers Lounge labelled "Poll: August E-zine" (it includes a poll.) I don't intend to post it here (unless you really, really wanted it here, but I somehow doubt that), but continue posting in the Writer's Lounge.

That's a very cool idea, and I think it would be really fun. I think it would be cool if it had articles about painting, drawing, maybe a monthly or every other monthly art contest. A spirte comic would be super fun, but I don't know who would want to do it. (I would, but I'm not sure if I'm up to the challenge.)

I think it would also be fun to have artist's spotlights as well, with maybe some of their artwork to go along.

Don't really care about whether you just post it in FanFiction or FanArt, I don't know how it would really fit here, but it would be nice if someone could post an announcement when a new article came up so those of us who do not frequent the Writers Lounge won't have to keep on checking up on it.

I could put together a sprite comic if someone would write parts of it. I'm not that great at written comedy. I'm sure someone could write funny bits and I could put the thing together and send it off. Putting sprites and making backgrounds isn't that hard if you know where to look.

I guess I'm sort of in charge of the art side of this thing, until Iveechan turns up at least, so if you have ideas for a monthly sprite comic or art contests, etc. you can PM me.

I'll be doing a little art collum for the E-Zine and a little one panel comic to go with it, but it would still be cool to have a proper sprite comic. Thy, I actually had an idea for a Pokemon based sprite comic, if you want I could PM you the details. Mind tho, I'm kinda busy so I could only lob ideas at you, not actually write the thing. >.< Of course, if you and maybe someone else got together to make a comic that would be great too! Just let me know...

Yeah, the Iveechan's Monthly Rant that May or May Not have something to do with Art! I can see it now! Just joking, of course. I'll be happy to look after the Art side of things, besides, if you're not interested I don't really see why you should have to waste your time on it.

Just announcing that the September Fan Forum E-Zine has been posted. And a few other things:

1) If anyone is interested in making a little comic for the E-Zine please PM me. It doesn't have to be the next Calvin and Hobbes, of course, and it doesn't even have to have more than one panel. It can be done in sprite style or traditional, and the subject matter is entirely up to the artist. Barring lewd, or offensive material, of course. The E-Zine is being posted every two weeks, but the comic can be a once-a-month deal (or, every other issue) if that is more comfortable.

Other than that, next issue I hope to have some Featured Artwork pieces ready. These will be selected from recent to fairly recent submissions to FanArt, and be complete with some comments about the pics and their respective creator. If anyone knows of a pic posted in FanArt that they'ed like to see featured in the E-Zine feel free to PM me. Be sure to include a link to the picture, and why you would like it featured.
