trading with colluseum

Is it possible to trade pokemon from FR/LG to colleseum to RU/SA without the ruby and saphire plates or not?

My understanding is that the plates are required to trade with Colusseum as well as Ruby Sapphire. If not, I can't see anything that would prevent FRLG -> Colloseum -> R/S.

You probably would need the plates, or at least the national dex. They wouldn't allow you to transfer post-151 pokes to FRLG before you've got your national dex, so the link will probably fail.

You can use Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green with Pokemon Box but you can't take away Pokemon after the first 151 Pokemon. This is to stop you taking Pokemon who were made after Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow originally and you can't even take Eggs if they have new Pokemon in. Using Pokemon Box you could upload some Pokemon from Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green and transfer them to Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire that way.

You can't move any Pokemon from FR/LG into Box before you get the National Dex. (Maybe even the Plates).
I know because I tried to move some Pokemon from my Japanese FR/LG games into Box right after I started those games and it didn't work. It was not possible to move any Pokemon from Box to FR/LG too.
