Default some random question + water/mud sport?

    okay random question

today i was battling my lombre against.. i dont recall, but that pokemon was poison type and used acid on me.
    and then i used absorb
and then the scroll at the bottom said..
"LOMBRE USED ABSORB!.... iT SUCKED UP ALL THE TOXIC ACID!"
    or something like that
what the heck does that mean!? ahahah

    ok the real question..

    mudsport watersport etc..
whats the point? i only see water/grass pokemon use water sport and ground.rock pokemon using mud sport, thats the point if the type is already innefective/not very effective?

    ex.

goldeen (of course has a mild resistance to FIRE..)
GOLDEEN USED WATER SPORT! FIRE'S POWER HAS BEEN WEAKEND!

    whts the point sdjgbdsjgbfd

    im sorry, im bored,

    i love you all..

well, if you opt not to evolve mudkip before lv.24, it learns mud sport, and is weak to electric attacks, Relicanth is weak to it, and learns it...as does a ton of water types weak to electric attacks:
http://www.psypokes.com/dex/techdex.php?id=300 click egg moves for the list...

As for water sport, I say surskit/masquerain...

PLUS, those moves can be baton passed on...helpful if you have pokemon weak to moves in your party.

well to answer the first question... you were probably battling a tentacool and it had the liquid ooze trait which causes moves that suck up HP from it like Giga Drain, Leech Seed, Absorb etc. to take away HP instead of replenishing it...

The more important use of Water Sport and Mud Sport is in Double Battles. If your Goldeen is paired with a Nuzleaf, the Nuzleaf would very much appreciate it if the Goldeen would please halve the damage of Fire Attacks so that the Nuzleaf won't be quite so vulnerable to them.

And yes, the Poison-type your Lombre battled must have had the Liquid Ooze Special Ability. Nasty thing. Especially since it's unpredictable. Tentacool can have Liquid Ooze, or they could have Clear Body instead, which prevents stat-lowering moves. Gulpin can also have Liquid Ooze, or it could have Sticky Hold, which prevents item-stealing attacks from working on it.
