Well, hes doing fine, processing student loans, and he has met someone special, but doesnt want to rush it. Also, he has not seen the Indiana Jones movies, however, he is working towards doing so.

When I was modded I actually lay a curse on this place meaning people can't actually leave.

Err. Welcome back! You went at such the wrong time - Gym Leaders are into effect AND there's a new moderator in the next few days.

Anyway Drew maybe it'll be cool starting from the bottom again. *Thinks* If I ever started again I doubt I'd use many of the same Pokemon.

Out of interest, who ran the Safari parks in the old ASB? Not the Egg Park, but the ones where you caught wild pokemon? If we start a Safari park (which I'm working on now) I'd like for people with experience in reffing the mini battles to help out.

Not if, say, the Safari Zone has so many zones, and the person who wants to catch a pokemon pays however many points, and says where they want to go, and the ref posts what pokemon they encounter, blah blah blah.

    I'm back.

Ok, basically, Wolfsong and I had the egg park(I know you weren't asking...) Moltrecuno owned the other park with her bf at the time, brian...a.k.a. Deckknight...a few people had worked there, I don't remember who...so long ago...but there are people like TBA, myself, and Wolfsong, who work at a place called Crystal Caves Capture Center in PCG/AC/CC...where you go hunt for pokemon in the wild...similar...so we would be experienced in that, if there are no workers left from the safari.

    A NEW MOD???

I'm not sure how long the safari zone will last. I can see it being a temporary event but it may be permanant. Dan and I have been discussing it in great lengths this morning and it should be quite fun. Check it out in the archive; its not RPGish really, but it just adds a bit of colour to it.

And since our Gym Leader system has raised eyebrows among ASBRPGers, let me remind you we had Safari Zones before you guys even begun, so slap a plagarism label on us and I'll rip your eyes out. [false smile]

What else did we have in ye-olde-asb? I remember the breeding center and ofcourse my mystery egg central ^^. I also remember the safari park but also something that was kind off like it. Not sure which one, but for one of them you needed to buy stuff like scuba gear if you wanted to go underwater or somekind of suit that would protect you from poison fumes if you were hunting poison pokémon.

Wait a minute, I remember something else. You went in a park and you could go hunt for eggs. You sometimes needed to beat the mother and or father to do it though.

The Safari Park system sounds interesting. I don't believe I ever tried it when it was first implemented, so were it to be reintroduced, I'd be looking forward to trying it out. It does seem a touch RPGish, but hey, if it works and it's fun, that's really all that matters, right? We just need to keep everything well-organized.

By the way - Dan tells me that the Safari Zone areas are going to be based off locations in The Pokemon Masters League - there's going to be secret areas and lots of interesting nooks and crannies so those who have read...well, you'll be a step ahead at finding the best things there

    A new ASB mod?

Sounds interesting, but just wondering, is it going to be Rebecca (The_Missing_Link)?

I can remember the days when she was modding with you and RaZoR LeAf, Chris 2.0, so it would be surprising to see her modding this forum again...unless you guys are getting a new mod instead.

yes, that was Firestorm98's Egg Park...the place Wolfsong, and Firestorm started, and eventually, I was given the co ownership with Amy...we had workers like Snots Fubar, etc...
Things like Overheads came into affect, slowly killing both businesses...but not the egg place...we had to create other ways of offsetting the overheads, like making suits...etc...Let I remind you this was when I believe Cyrus was the head banker...don't laugh...it actually happened...

What didn't make sense, figuring ways to compensate for overhead? if we hadn't, we would have been losing money, and out of business fast...the industries did similar, creating new pokeballs, and raising prices...thank Cyrus...

Thanks, guys. ^^ I'll do my best.

I never understood the logic behind having to pay overhead and that sort of thing. Surely if people just pay to get in, that's all right? I mean, we have a business now and there's no salary, so that's not a problem, right? Even if there needed to be a salary, that shouldn't be that difficult to balance out.

The slary thing in the past was because there was a lot of money flying around. Youd start with 10Yen, and get more for winning. In comparison, you barelw in anything thee days. A battle ending in your favour also got you a free catch or evolution. I can't see there being any overheads again.

We're not including anything like scuba gear, but theoretically if you wanted to explore underwater, all you'd need is a pokemon with dive, or something with Strength could push boulders away from a cave entrance to reveal new places. The old ASB also had a Styling Salon courtesy of OzAndrew, where you could give your pokemon a paint job, tattoos and pericings. There was also, for a short time, a casino run by Razola.

For anyone who doesn't know how Safari Zones worked, it was basically like this:

    Chris2.0
Hello I would like to buy a pokeball and I will be taking my male Flygon, Anemos with me. I would like to explore the generic Mountain region please.

    RaZoR LeAf
OK Chris. You are on Flygon's back taking in an aerial view of the mountain when you spot a Skarmory nest on a nearby peak. There's only one bird in the nest right now. What would you like to do?

    Chris 2.0
I don't really like Skarmory, so I'll move on.

    RaZoR LeAf
Anemos flies past the Skarmory, an you circle the mounatin. As you explore the higher reaches you spot two Golem racing down the mountain side. There's also an Ursaring snoozing against a larg rock nearby. What will you do?

    Chris 2.0
Golem sounds interesting, but I'll go for the Ursaring. Anemos, start off with Sandstorm to irritate Ursaring then use Iron Tail to give it a major headache. lastly hit it with your Dragon Breath.

This would then continue up until:

    Chris 2.0
Ok I'll throw a pokeball at Ursaring now.

    RaZoR LeAf
The pokeball hits Ursaring. It shakes once, twice, three times.. Ursaring is caught. Congratulations Chris 2.0. An Alakazam appears and teleports both you and Anemos back to the entrance. Enjoy your new pokemon and please come again.

I really like that nowadays its harder to obtain points/moneys/yen... its just easier to keep track of, and that as well as no longer getting a free catch/evo for winning keeps ASB teams manageable..

and congrats TBA.. dont know you too well, but I think youll do a great job

Overheads were though up because the park owners/workers had an unfair advantage...so thought some...so...Cyrus, being the intelligent ASBer he was, decided to screw ASB up to a point noone would want to return...

Well, congratulations man, I know you'll do a great job. But tell me, your new rank won't affect our friendship right? I know it might make some people be like, "Don't talk to me unless you have something important to say." And i rarely have anything important to say XD

Also, Safari Zone sounds pretty good, but perhaps too simple? I mean, how many points do you have to pay to enter? And you can catch say a Golem. Thats 9 points compiled, as well as 2 different required EXP from battles.

    Nah, don't worry.

Well, something to keep in mind is that it'll take considerably longer than just geeting it approved, and catching a Pokemon is rarely a sure thing. Besides, there would have to be some sort of limit on balls, so it's sometimes a metter of luck as well. If you want to get a high leveled Pokemon, it might be more direct to just catch the basic form and evolve it yourself.

Alright I have a question. Seeing as how Vermillion has left while he was reffing some battles, I was wondering if I can't get a sub ref and call the battle quits would I still get point and if so how much? The battle is a 3-on-3 and my first pokemon is at 65% while my opponent just sent out her second. I'm trying to decide if I should just quit or hold out for a sub ref.

I personally would like to see an adventure! WITH ZOMBIES more than anything as you try to rescue Pokemon and shit. And at the end, depending on your Pokemon rescued, you score different points and are exchangeable for REAL points and pokemanz evolutions.

Hahahaha, yeah thats a great idea! A resident evil zone! And we can exchange points for weapons, which will pay off in the end if we get more points by doing well! Itll be like a more fun risky version of the slots ^^. Magnum worth like 8 points lol.

Well there was an RPG esque adventure that Charnumber did.
It was kinda like an expansion of the Safari idea but had a plot and you fought npc trainers etc.
    That was pretty cool.

I'd enjoy writing that story... it'd be super fun! I'd write all the guidelines, then get other people to run it!

Awhile back, I remember creating an an ASB Adventure involving hybrid 'mons called Chimera. The general idea was that the R&D lab responsible for creating them lost control, and the Chimera were running free. It was then the mission of you and your team of Pogies to go through the lab and "kill them off", so to speak.

You would go through ten or fifteen rooms fainting various enemies (with the damage calculations heavily increased); each room would reward you with an item that could be used throughout the quest (such as Potions and what-not); after a certain amount of rooms, you would end up fighting a "mini-boss" Chimera and "big boss" Chimera that were much stronger than the usual list of creatures.

I ended up scrapping the idea about a month before my second depature, however.

Again, sounds like Resident Evil. Scientists accidently creating creatures called Chimeras that have to be killed.
