Banned Attacks: I'd prefer if all status stuff was banned if you don't mind. Just an all out thwack to the finish. ^^''' The stat boosting/lowering is ok though.
Arena: Indigo Stadium-Just a normal grassy field. A few rock piles jutting out of the ground and a good sized pond for water types.

I'll start with my Sneasel, Darkwind ♀.

Rush her with a Bullet Punch to the jaw then blast her while she dazed with Mud Bomb to blind her. Finish out with Poison Jab to her stomach!

Ok Darkwind you're way faster then he is so let's try this, use a Quick Attack to zip around his attack and get on his back. Dig in securely with your claws. Then slice him across the head with a Shadow Claw. Finish up with giving him a massive icecream headache with an Ice Beam to the back of his head. Right where you sliced it. You can't freeze him, but his head won't like it.

By the way River, when you said "all status stuff banned" you mean status inducing attacks that don't do damage(i.e. thunder wave) or that status stuff just doesn't happen (i.e. you get hit by fire blast but you don't get burnt no matter what?)

Round 1

It promises to be good, two experienced ASB-ers ready to battle TO THE DEATH. *coughs* oratleastuntilapokemonfaintsbutthatcountstoo. *coughs again*

On one side, we have the delightful River, who chooses her sinister Sneasel, also known as Darkwind. Her brave challenger is none other than Vermillion, who chooses the freaky NEW frog thing that is no way as cute as the adoooorable Mudkip which is this ref's TOTAL FAVOURITE WATER STARTER(after Squirtle and Totodile of course).

The Croagunk attempts to capitalise on his opponent's type weakness at the very beginning, dashing forward with rather unexpected speed to smash a shiny metallic fist right into Darkwind's face - or he would have if Darkwind had remained where she was supposed to be. Zipping around her opponent, making full use of her lighter body and quicker movement, launching herself and landing securely onto Nimrod's back, digging in deep with all of her dangerous talons. However, after this, things don't really go as planned as she is not only taller, but also heavier than her diminutive opponent, and they both topple down onto the grass as he loses his balance.

Their orders forgotten, Nimrod fights to get to his feet, while Darkwind has found that her talons are in too deep, and she is unable to dislodge them for a successful shadow claw.

Realising that his struggles are futile, Nimrod moves to the next course of action - offensive defense(?) and twists his hands as far back as they can go to jab Darkwind. She cries out a little in pain as poison is forcibly injected into her veins, but remains focused and the back of Nimrod's head is subject to a beam of icy coldness. Talk about brain freeze!

Luckily for Darkwind, due to weirdo magic circumstances in the arena, her status condition is instantly cured as all the poison is mysteriously purged out of her body.

Status: Ever eaten too much ice cream too fast? Magnify that feeling by about 5 and you've got how he currently feels. But he's not frozen. Nu-uh.



Ref's Notes:
1. I was actually planning on a whole new reffing style, buuuut it's a little hard to implement as of now as it's rather more time consuming. So what you;re getting in "hiagt-is-sick-of-studying-and-is-partially-hyper-style"
2. As usual, just fyi, I don't believe in energy KOs... unless the combatants specially request for it =)
3. New attacks are fun(not) - I had some trouble deciding if Bullet Punch would actually hit when Sneasel was asked to quick attack...but then I compared base stats for speed, and it was kinda obvious who would be faster in any event... And for Mud Bomb, I assumed that the attacker has to physically throw the mud first for that attack to happen. Unfortunately, one turn was missed by both Pokemon due to slight chaos when the Sneasel landed on Croagunk's back. Effectively, the move they both used was Struggle.
4. BATTLE ON YAYAYAYAY. No significant changes to arena

Thanks Hyper, ^^. I'll post my attacks later but I meant all status stuff(even bonuses on attacks), so when I use Ice Beam, he can't get frozen (why I mentioned it in my attacks). I just want a good ol thwack down to the finish. So yeah . . . I'll edit in my attacks later.

Ok Darkwind, if you're still stuck use another Ice Beam to his head to keep him addled. Then use Strength to slam him into ground. If you're free after that, use Double Team

If however you are free, still use Ice Beam follow it up with a Blizzard and then Double Team

Sub in Counter for physical hits.

I'll post in a little bit, I've been hella busy with the El Highero Educationo...(thats bad Spanish for you guys out there). Also Croagunk isn't water type or a starter, just Poison/Fighting.

Actually I am aware of the Poison/fighting bit cos I had to look up its types in some Pokedexes ^__^ but it's blue and looks like a water type starter to meh... ^^U

Round 2

Nimrod is slightly hesitant about his first order, after all, most beasts are well protected at the front of their heads, not the back - but being a well trained Pogey, he obeys, thudding his head backward and with a rather sickening crack, connects with Darkwind's face. However, since he is facing forward, he fails to note a rather strange nimbus glowing around his opponent, and suddenly, he feels a terrible force thwacking the back of his head, which is already bruised. The only good this serves is that Darkwind's claws are torn right out of his back - but what's this? Where the claws once gouged are dreadful tears where blood is already freely gushing out.

Ignoring his rather drastic wounds(Pogeys heal quickly, isn't that a happy thing?), Nimrod smirks rather mockingly, and pulls several faces and struts around with a puffed up chest. Forgetting her orders, Darkwind lurches forward with almost impossible speed, slashing at him with her (very sharp) talons. She puts her whole heart into it, infuriated by his insults but he barely falters, and instead uses all his strength to strike her all over her body. She ignores her pain as she loses all sense of rationality, and continues assaulting him furiously, tearing with teeth and claw whenever she can.

1. Ref is in the middle of ALevels. Sanity not expected.
2. It seems that 2 out of 3 of Nimrod's attacks were physical, so Darkwind used Counter once, the other time, she was too pissed off to notice.
3. My online dice seem to be on a permanent blink so from now on. I will use a random number generator (not that it makes any difference ^_^U)

Lets try...Earthquake to shake things up followed by Sludge Bomb and finishing with X-scissor!

Ok Darkwind, you are veeeery angry so pick that annoy bugger up and hurl him into the pond with Strength! Then while he's gurling/swimming use Surf to bounce/practically drown him in there and make him feel like he's in a dishwasher! When he finally manages to extricate himself from the pond, use Ice Beam to his face as he comes for you with X-Scissor.

If however you are to angry to hurl, use Fustration but stand on him again to avoid the Earthquake as best as possible. Then follow the other attacks, just drown him with the Surf instead since he's not in the pond.

Round 3

Ignoring his very numerous cuts, Nimrod slams his duo coloured left paw onto the grassy ground and concentrates as tremors start to shake the arena. Ignoring this, with a great burst of strength, Darkwind lifts the smaller and lighter Croagunk and tosses him with all her strength towards the rather large pond. He is uninjured, but instead starts struggling towards the shore as fast as he can. Darkwind is in no charitable mood to allow her opponent any reprieve, and surfs up a mini storm for the rather unfortunate Nimrod, who flounders wildly in order to keep his head on the surface.

The waters calm as she loses concentration, and Nimrod finally manages to make it to land. Darkwind however is not satisfied with the revenge for the insult, and ignores trainer orders and attacks him bodily once again. He counterstrikes with X-scissor, but the strike isn't entirely successful as it's really hard to focus properly when sixty pounds of angry teeth and claws are trying to kill you.

Darkwind is more than pleased to be able to put as big a distance between herself and her opponent as possible, disappearing and reappearing at the other side of the pond. Unfortunately for her, the canny Nimrod is right at her tail, uncomfortably close, but no attacks are forthcoming it seems. She settles herself down to relax, but is unnerved at the appearance of many Nimrod clones surrounding her. The dark cat forces herself to remain calm, even under the gaze of many pairs of nebulous eyes.

Alrighty! Darkwind use Ice Beam to counter that Sludge, freeze it and slam Nimrod all in one. Then use Aerial Ace to whack him hard with some supereffective fun. Lastly use Quick Attack to avoid the Vacuum and hit him from behind.

Round 5

His multiple images fade, and spitting quickly, Croagunk releases a huge blob of sludge right at Darkwind's face. The catlike Pokemon retaliates as quickly as she can and manages to freeze up part of the sludge, but some splatters onto her forehead, and though she is instantly healed of any poisoning, thanks to the special arena, it does still hurt. Nimrod suffers minor damage from a much weakened Ice Beam too.

Taking advantage of her higher speed, Darkwind leaps forward and slashes down with her glowing left paw. Since she is conveniently close, Nimrod's strange while beam hits her hard, dealing decent damage.

With a movement of his hand at a speed so fast that it cannot be seen, Nimrod creates a strange vacuum wave, a wave of pure nothingness that moves at an impossible speed towards Darkwind. She attampts to move away, but the nature of the emptiness is that it sucks things in, and she takes on the full force of the wave. Finally free of its strange grasp, she darts behind Nimrod and gives him a good whop to his back. He is thrown forward and lands on his face, not too happy. He struggles to his feet and shakes himself off.

1. ladeedum. I had some slight problems with the reffing of the last attacks on both sides... Partly because I have no idea what vacuum wave looks like but it's listed as a fighting... and it's supposed to go first all the time. I interpreted it as the user moves a limb with such speed that he creates a vacuum in the air that moves as a wave towards the opponent.

Seemingly effortlessly, Darkwind's form shimmers, and now, it's Nimrod's turn to find himself surrounded by her baleful gaze. Dark energy causes the air around him to waver wildly, and suddenly, he is before the right Sneasel, throwing his full weight against her. Thanks to her innate dark nature, the damage she sustains is rudimentary.

Once again, Nimrod utilises Vacuum Wave, which slams into Darkwind, whose body shimmers slightly in an attempt to counter. Unfortunately, it fails, and Nimrod strikes a second time. Darkwind has evidently decided to darn it all to heck, and retaliates with a swift chop to Croagunk's belly.

1. Ref is sick. u.u Oh, for Pursuit.. I was thinking if it would be effective.. Then I decided that it would be. So yeah ^_^
2, For Vacuum Wave, I was in a quandary, because though it is a fighting attack, I don't count it as something you can counter. So Darkwind ended up Countering uselessly the first time Vacuum Wave hit, but used Aerial Ace in the end after being hit for the second time.

Before he collapses, he emits a single croak of defiance to let his foe know that he will not forget this defeat - and Darkwind is left the only one standing triumphant.
