Brimstone
Hunched walls sludged apart from themselves, forming a horseshoed hallway. Thick globules of red slithered down the jaundiced stalagmites, occasionally bursting into flames of azure. Axianna continued to step forward in rhythm with the shifting rocks, her nails digging into palms.
A larger lurch followed by splintering noise echoed ahead, as the crystalline rocks finished their shifting to reveal the entrance to the Core. Instinctively, Axianna darted forward, sucking in air as she ran, until she was almost against the entrance. Large, mahogany-stretched doors towered above her, while obsidian wolf heads snarled and bared their teeth. Thorny metal vines clawed around the frame of the entrance, tearing its nails into the wood of the doors.
The rush of her heated blood pulsed against her throat as she stood, transfixed. Her lungs drew breath sharply and shallow, matching the strum of her own frenzied heart.
She bit the edge of her lower lip, furrowing her brow...
... and then smiled.
"Acknowledge who I am!" Her mind roared as she pushed against the grain of the doors with a jolted heave. Begrudgingly, the doors leaned forward as blazing light spat through the partway. He was there waiting, sitting as a proud hawk upon its perch. His ringed eyes instantly seizing her, causing her to hold her own place.
"Mortalis...," she whispered.

This is a preview for a story I've been writing on, based off of some recent books I've been reading and some role plays I've done. The story "Brimstone" is going to be a dark fiction, that I plan on riddling with a lot of unsettling imagery and plugging in some controversial views. Think of it as a dark fantasy piece, that can be clawed at to discover real-life applications. :3
The fiction will be rated HM, as "Heavy Mature" although any graphic parts will be edited out. Original copies can be obtained via request upon PM for any chapter.
I sort of view this piece as the representation for the darker side of myself, although it doesn't have a direct correlation.
As I said, it is a fantasy piece... so you can expect heavy fantastical elements. It deals mainly with the idea of good and evil, but takes the viewpoint of a Devil. So expect a lot of references to the layers of Hell, aspects of Heaven and such, but it'll delve into the fantastical version of our own modern world. The writing style will be different in places- some sentences will seem unnaturally short and stick out and a lot of poetic aspects will be plunked into the piece as well.
The first few chapters are in the work and I expect to have 4-5 chapters done within a week and a half or so, which is when the first chapter of Brimstone will be posted. Not sure if people at TPM will have a taste for it, but no one has to read it.
