    Wow, has it really been since March that I posted something in here. Why don't we change that...

    I'm up to battling anyone, so long as the Pokémon they used aren't fully evolved. And to celebrate my return, we're gonna bring back the battlefield I created:

    Arena: Cajon Pass
    In this scenario, the battle takes place within a desert canyon, about 50 feet high and 100 feet in width at its widest. Even so, there are plenty of rocks and inclines filling the area, so maneuvering will prove difficult. The temperature is balming, and the sunlight is so intense, it feels like Sunny Day is in full effect...

    Rules:
    • 3 on 3.
    • I'll send out first, while you may attack first.
    • Status inflicting-specific moves are banned. If a regular technique has the chance of inflicting one, that doesn't happen.

    Once a challenger and ref are in place, I'll make my first choice.

    I'll send out Odonata my female Yanma with Speed Boost. You didn't say whether abilities are on or not, so I've listed it anyway.

    Super Sonic, Silver Wind, Air Cutter

    Yeah, abilities are on. Sorry, forgot to put that in. Draco's ability is Sand Veil.

    Draco, Protect yourself from the Supersonic. Whip up a Sandstorm to conceal yourself. Then take advantage of the cliffs around you and use Rock Slide.

    Supersonic ~ Silver Wind ~ Air Cutter

    Yello! We have RL and Mario here. Mario throws out a Gabite, and RL throws out a Yanma, named Draco and Odonata respectively. It starts with Odonata making a supersonic noise, trying to confuse Draco, but no dice, Draco was protected by a Barrier. [Draco: -9 EN/Odo: -6 EN]
    [Sand]
    ~~~
    Next, Draco throws starts whipping up a Sandstorm, but with the sun so hot already, its now hot and gritty! Odo tries to use Silver Wind on Draco, but again, no dice, the wind just gets blown away drifint goff into the sandstorm. [Draco: -6 EN/Odo: -8 EN -4 HP(Sand)]
    [Sand]
    ~~~
    Odo, wanting something to work for him, tries to slice Draco with air, it hits, but isnt nearly as effective as it would be normally. Draco, snickering, focuses on the rocks above Odo, and wills them to fall on the dragonflymon. Poor bug. [Draco: -2 HP -8 EN/Odo: -23 HP -4 HP (Sand) +1 Speed]

    As an added layer of cover, create a Substitute for that Yanma to fight against. If they use a technique to foil the creation, swap in Aerial Ace.

    If the Substitute came out successfully, take a break on the second turn. Otherwise use Rock Slide. Finish off the round with Stone Edge.

    Yanma lets go with a Solar Beam. The sun is intense, so if you can get it off in one turn then great, make it a double, if the sandstorm is in the way then charge for a turn then hit out. Finish off with a Tail Wind to lift yourself up high and well out of range of any attacks.

    Solar Beam ~ Solar Beam ~ Tail Wind

    This round begins with Odo charging up a solar powered beam, it launches and hits in one turn due to the intesified sun, but no damage was done to the now hiding and snickering Gabite, becuase what Odo hit was a Draco made of sand! [Draco: -8 EN/Odo: -9 EN -4 HP (Sand)]
    [Sand]
    ~~~
    Draco deciding that he needed to relax, hopped up onto a boulder and sprawled himself out across it, taking a quick breather. Odo thought this would be quite the wonderful time to launch a powerful Solar Beam into his face, so he did.
    [Draco: -13 HP +4 EN/Odo: -9 EN -4 HP(Sand)]
    [Sand]
    ~~~
    Draco didnt like that he got some damage put on him, so he charged Odo, fist clenched, ready to pound Odo hard with Stone Edge, but no dice for him, because Odo was riding the canyon wind like a Carnival ride, making Draco's attack fail.

    Try and trap it with a Twister. Follow up with Draco Meteor to blast it out of the sky. If it's been successfully grounded, use Aerial Ace.

    Well, it looks like DCM is unable to continue reffing this, so we have two options, RaZoR: we can either request a subref to take over, or we can call off the battle and try again another day. It's up to you, as I have no problem doing either.

    ===Round 3(1)===

    Whoo, and I'm back in Cajon pass. These walls make for a great wind tunnel. Even though there's a blistering HOT Sandstorm going on, Odonta seems to speed for the skies(-1). Man that bug is fast, and Draco knows. it. He tries to send a Twister up after it, and well...it's not really going to make it. Odonta breaches the top of the Sandstorm, but not quite the top of the canyon and floats in the freedom of the sky. Aiming downward, that tail of his helps to amass a massive ball of light, that goes streaking down in the sandstorm. The Twister comes up, and finally strikes Odonta after all that, but the Solarbeam missed. That Sandstorm still did just enough to obscure Draco from view.

    D: -2E ~~ O: -10E/-5H

    Draco watched the massive attack split the Sandstorm and hammer into the ground a few feet to his right. That was too close for comfort. He started to hum, and cast a heavenly spell that let his body give all a certain aura. An aura that Odonta could see through the storm. Ripping free of the Twister, that familiar charge was initiated again, and fired..this time striking Draco in the chest. The beast flew backwards, slamming down and into the canyon wall (-1).

    Odonto however, would not escape scot-free. A enormous space rock came bulleting for the pass, dwarfing Odonta in every way and smearing his body all along the cliffside. Ouch. Odonta barely flew right after that attack- one wing really off kilter and his left side all sorts of smashed.

    D: -11E/-13H -2 SpA ~~ O: -10E/-18H

    Odonto however remained undaunted, even as the Tailwind began to peter out. Weakly Draco watched the damned bug go back up to try for another Solarbeam (-1). So he quietly scaled the cliffside. When Odonta broke the sandy blanket after being grounded hard by that Meteor, he immediately turned to receive a slash to the face. Draco lunged off the wall and soared over, slashing him as he glided back toward the cover of the storm. Odonta wasn't having that, and fired a Solarbeam right after him. Draco was a sitting ..err diving duck. The Solarbeam hurried his trip to the bottom of the canyon real fast.

    D: -3E/-13H ~~ O: -10E/-6H

    Odonta smirked. Who needs a tailwind when yer naturally this fast....

    Use Aerial Ace two more times. If these are enough to knock it to the ground, follow up with Dragon Claw. Otherwise, just use Aerial Ace a third time.

    ===Round 4(2)===

    Zipping high seemed to be the theme for Odonta, and as such, Draco was none too pleased. He scurried to the canyon wall once more and lunge doff it.The splash of sand that joined Draco in his vertical ascent left Odonta a little bruised (-1), and that was aside from the slicing strike he recived to his underside. Odonto however recovered and buzzed toward the still ascending Draco and latched onto his back with his feet. Odonta then simply flew into a wall-Draco first.

    At that speed..Ouch!

    D: -3E/-11H ~~ O: -6E/-6H

    Odonto released Draco, but the dragon was still well enough to push out of the wall near immediately and grab Odonta. The dragonfly was slashed twice across the back, but instead of falling to the ground belly first, Odonto buzzed those wings and managed to exert enough power to keep himself afloat as Draco now hung on for dear life. (-1).

    Another wall strike was in Draco's future, Odnoto pulling up and dragging him across the surface as he escaped the Sandstorm again.

    D: -3E/-12H ~~ O: -6E/-6H

    Odonto looked down at Draco, whom let go of the dragon fly in an odd manner. He planted his feet on Odonta's underbelly, before kicking off. Those nasty Dragon Claws left another aerial like slashmark for him to recover form, and Draco sped toward the sands.

    Odonta wheezed, but dove after him, speeding past in a manner of seconds. (-1). Banking below Draco, Odonta managed to complete two revolutions around the dropping drgon, before latching onto his tail fin and performng a barrel roll! It ended with Odonta letting Draco go at the end of said roll, his speed augmented gratly by Odont'as interference. He slammed into the ground with such force that the Sandstorm was blown away!

    D: -3E/-13H ~~ O: -6E/-6H

    Oh and it keeps getting better!!

    Since he's bracing himself, there's no point in you wasting valuable energy trying to knock it out on the first turn. Create a couple clones with Double Team, then finish him off with two more Aerial Aces.

    Odonta didn't like playing defensive right now. Why couldn't he go and shut that stupid silly dragon down? Oh well. The dragon still was having a tough time right? Oh wait no. It just split into 4 copies! Now how was this supposed to be helpful.

    Odonta buzzed backwards, upset to have wasted energy on that.

    D: -3E +3 cl ~~ O: -5E

    Draco then surged forth, as Odonta looked around quickly. He already spied where all the hits were going to come from, but what he didn't surmise was which one was real. All Draco's crisscrossed each other without touching, further adding to the confusion.

    Odonta barrel rolled from the hit and tried to bash through one of them as he did so. It worked, but it was only a clone.

    D: -3E ~~ O: -1E/-6H

    Completly tuckered out, Odonta barely batted an eye when the final strike came from overhead.

    D: -3E ~~ O: Gone

    Arena:
    In this scenario, the battle takes place within a desert canyon, about 50 feet high and 100 feet in width at its widest. Even so, there are plenty of rocks and inclines filling the area, so maneuvering will prove difficult. The temperature is balming, and the sunlight is so intense, it feels like Sunny Day is in full effect...

    ===Round 6(4)===

    One down, Razor now swaps to a rocky type all his own. Out flips Para, an Omanyte with all the right moves. Draco doesn't like the odds currently, and raises the ante, so now its 6 on 1. Para shrugs (can they?) and shakes off spurs from its shell. The spurs however, are poison tipped.

    D: -3E 5 cl. ~~ P: -3E

    Para wriggled backwards, and stared at the clones that now surrounded him. He forced the earth to erupt energetically, slicing through a Draco like a hot knife through butter. But the other Draco's smirked, pleased with the outcome. The sands that whirled about seemed to pick up, but only around Para's base, sucking him within a specified range.

    D: -3E 4 cl.~~ P: -8E/-7H trap.

    Not keen on being stuck, Para aims for another one. The Briny shot splits through another Draco, missing the real one. Draco and the 3 clones all jumped up and down, creating a Earthquake that forced Para deeper into the ground.

    D: -9E 3 cl.~~ P: -5E/-20H

    The Tomb grates on Para's sides (3)

    Before we begin this round, I believe Draco should have 25 E remaining.

    In any case, he's not going to last much longer, so let's see if we can't make him use up more effort points.

    Hit him with Iron Head to start off. Protect yourself from the Ice Beam, then follow up with Earthquake.

    ===Round 7(5)===

    Draco glares at the stuck Para, and runs around the cyclone of sand. With all these clones, Para is hard pressed to take a chance, but then gets a great idea. An Icy Wind is released, and maintained in one direction. The dragons all run thorough it-and Draco winds up eliminating its initiative, and getting struck by the chilling blast. In retaliation, he dives in and hammers Para into the sand head first.

    D: -8E/-12H ~~ P: -3E/-11H

    Draco lands back on his feet and curls into a ball. A shield erects itself, just as ice in a beam rattles it harshly. Para is definitely not amused by this.

    D: -9E ~~ P: -8E >o.

    Para does not give in though, and fires off a watery attack to try and counter that damn dragon. But Draco shows no effort to retaliate, he's plum tired right now.

    D: -7H ~~ P: -4E

    The Tomb grates on Para's sides (3)

    Well, there's nothing we can do unless RaZoR chooses to prolong the inevitable.

    Put Draco out of his misery, and we can shift to my next Poké.

    Well rather than me wasting energy, you could just recall and send out a new one now.

    Otherwise Bubblebeam till it drops.

    Why you bumping. You didn't do anything. :/ Razor asked if you just wanted to release a new one-which you could if you wanted to. Was waiting on an answer on that from you.

    How would the switching mechanic work? Is it like the games where the new Pokémon is unable to do anything, or does it follow different guidelines?

    And am I correct in guessing that the one that's been switched will slowly but surely regain Effort Points each turn?

    Ah ok. Good questions.

    1) Switching takes up one action, you you just say "Swap to [whomever]., You then command two more actions, like so

    "Swap to Bugaboo~Megahorn~Drill Peck!"

    2) No, the Pokemon recalled is not going to gain back EP. They're frozen in a sense, until re-released.

    With that in mind, I'll keep Draco out until he goes down. That doesn't mean we can't drag this out.

    Double Team, then take a break the rest of the turn, if you survive that long.
