    MELOVEGHOST v. CHRIS 2.1

    Round ONE
    We welcome ourselves to a large, grassy knoll along the Lake District. Elite 4 member and Moderator MeLoVeGhOsTs has seen fit to challenge former Moderator Chris 2.1 to a battle to see who's better. Ghosts summons his first pokemon -- a staple amongst his team -- Isane Kotetsu, his altaria. Chris doesn't mind it whatsoever, however, and summons a newcomer to his team -- Kaspa, a friendly golett.

    Kaspa salutes the arena and closes his eyes while the sun shines brightly on his clay stature. Isane, meanwhile, tries to sooth the golem to a nice slumber with her song, but the chords just don't do it whatsoever. Kaspa's eyes open, and he already feels much faster!

    Isane : -2PP // -5PP, +2 Spd : Kaspa

    Frustrated that her performance went unnoticed, Isane decides to focus on the self, and begins spinning around the knoll furiously while simultaneously upping the ante on Team MLG. Her strength and speed gets better and better, but Kaspa puts her dance to a slow stop with a psychic attack! Talk about a tough audience...

    Isane : +1 Atk, +1 Spd, -5PP, -8HP // -6PP : Kaspa

    Isane shrugs off the trouncing headache induced by Kaspa's psychic attack, and continues to focus on the self. As the sun beats down upon the arena, her cloud-like plummage strengthens incredibly! Unfortunately, while she's preoccupied with her defense, Kaspa strikes at her with a fierce ice beam -- knocking her out of the air quite easily.

    Sorry, missed this one -- regarding Sing and it's accuracy rating: the way I see it, Sing works wonderfully if the target is either attacking or relaxing. However, if the target is focused on himself -- stat raising, if you will -- then he doesn't particularly notice the song and has a smaller chance of being affected by it.

    If it's used over and over, however, then it becomes more and more likely for the target to fall victim to it. The opposite is true once the target succumbs to it that first time.

    Round TWO
    Isane grows increasingly frustrated as the battle goes on, and decides to show this nasty ghost a piece of her mind with a fierce ice beam. However, almost as if he knew it was coming, Kaspa successfully avoids the damage by casting a spell of protection upon himself just before the attack could do any harm!

    Isane : -7PP // -9PP : Kaspa

    Completely fuming, Isane decides to take it out on Kaspa dragon style. A fierce aura of dragon energy surges from her slender frame as Kaspa tries to brace himself. Isane throws his body forward, and Kaspa ignites in a sea of white light that nearly blinds her. But her rage has already done that, and she manages to strike at Kaspa with a series of blows that knock him to the ground quite easily.

    Isane : -7PP, -2 Acc // -3PP, -13HP : Kaspa

    And as the battle continues, so does Isane's rage. She continues to slap Kaspa around like a ragdoll with her powerful tail until she finally succumbs to her tiredness. The outrage fades, and now she wonders just what she was doing before. Kaspa seizes the opportunity, and strikes back with a fierce rock slide. Unfortunately, the damage is nearly halved by Isane's insane defenses.

    Isane : -7PP, +25% Con, -4HP // -13HP, -5PP : Kaspa

    Round THREE
    Isane's rage has since subsided, and she decides a celebratory dragon rush is in order! She darts around the arena speedily for a few seconds before violently crashing into the friendly ghost, knocking him to the ground quite easily and making him forget what he was supposed to do!

    Isane : -6PP // *flinch*, -11HP : Kaspa

    Friendly ghost Kaspa goes into not-so-friendly mode, and retalliates with a swift shadow punch. However, against Isane's nearly metallic defenses, Kaspa probably ends up hurting himself even moreso than his opponent. Isane, quite confused, forgets what she was commanded to do and instead tries to hit with another dragon rush. But her eyes are buggy from the flash, so she completely misses her target!

    Isane : -3HP, -6PP // -2PP : Kaspa

    Her eyesight returns to normal, and her consciousness reboots, enabling her to battle properly now. With a fierce cowel, Isane fires off a nasty ice beam that snaps at Kaspa's torso, sending him back quite a few feet. The ghostly golem slowly pulls himself together and responds with another weakened shadow punch...

    Round FOUR
    Isane is feeling mightly confident about her position over her opponent, and decides to up the ante with a nasty dragon claw. She sails through the air over towards Kaspa and slices down, but as her claw connects, the ghost merely vanishes! Kaspa laughs from afar, having summoned a swift illusion to absorb the blow. Devious!

    Isane : -4PP // -1 Clone, +3 Clones, -6PP : Kaspa

    Kaspa starts the second act by hurling a massive stone high into the air. It collapses harshly onto Isane, who dives into the ground. Thinking about hwo tired she is of Kaspa's tricks, she turns her disgraceful fall to the ground into a powerful earthquake. The tremors ripple throughout the ground, and Kaspa's illusions quickly fade away.

    Isane : -8HP, -8PP // -11HP, -2 Clones, -5PP : Kaspa

    For the third act, both pokemon pull out the same gun. A chillingly cold beam of ice is fired from both ends before connecting with each pokemon, dealing different levels of damage as it strikes. Both pokemon hit the ground quite easily, but only Kaspa is freely able to get up. Isane, meanwhile, is frozen to the ground.

    Isane : Frozen, -7PP, -18HP // -14HP, -7PP : Kaspa

    ~Frozen victims are rendered unable to act until they are thawed out; there is a 20% chance each action that the ice will thaw on its own; Fire-type attacks, either used by or against this pokemon will thaw out the ice more quickly.~

    Round FIVE
    As Isane struggles to free herself from her frozen bindings, Kaspa closes his eyes and puts a devious curse on her. A small pin emerges from negative space and stabs Kaspa in the torso before looming over Isane hauntingly. She feels a cold chill down her spine as the heat wave engulfs her, melting all of the ice in record time! The heat wave, weakened by the ice, manages to engulf the golett, still with his eyes closed...

    He doesn't open them...

    Isane : -8PP, Cursed // -4HP, -20HP : Kaspa

    Isane feels victorious over her ghostly adversary, but then begins feeling a trembling feeling as the ghost's curse takes hold over her majestic frame.

    Isane : -10HP, -5PP // null : Kaspa


    Ref Notes:
    ~While under the effects of Curse, pokemon will receive 10HP *and* 5PP damage at the end of each round; the cost to curse a pokemon is very high.~

    Isane welcomes her new adversary by summoning a massive meteor from the sky. The screaming chunk of earth and dragon energy is distracting enough for Horne to lull her opponent to sleep nicely before the rock slams into her body.

    Isane : -10PP, -2 SpA, Asleep // -3PP, -14HP : Horne

    Horne shoots off a quick ice beam as Isane wraps herself up in her cloudy wings. The ice beam deals incredible damage.

    Isane : -18HP, +5PP // -6PP : Horne

    The altaria continues to sleep, but the curse finally lays her out -- unable to battle as Horne recovers lost energy.

    Isane : -10HP // +9PP : Horne

    Round SEVEN
    The altaria is recalled and replaced by another one of Muggles' strongest contendors: Katara, an imperical-looking empoleon. She adjusts her trident mask for a few seconds before being struck by Horne's earthly tackle, but she doesn't seem bothered by it whatsoever. Instead, she focuses on things other than her opponent, and begins sliding around the grassy field, gathering up speed.

    Katara : -9HP, -1 Spd, +2 Atk, +2 Spd, -5PP // -4PP : Horne

    Horne, perhaps worried that her opponent is a baffoon, tries to stupify her foe with a nice, confusing stare. Unfortunately, the creature she's staring at stares back, having been a perfect doll created just moments ago by Katara to absorb damage for her.

    Katara : -10HP, -5PP, Sub: 10HP // -3PP : Horne

    As Horne contemplates her life after her previous failed engagement, Katara finally gets on the offensive by smashing the large dragon in the side, dealing incredible damage despite Horne's bulk. Horne retaliates with a thunderbolt, nearling crippling Katara's double!

    Growing increasingly frustrated, Horne fires off a barrage of swift stars to obliterate the last of Katara's double's health; she watches in excitement as it finally crumbles to nothingness, but ultimately cries in pain as she suffers another of Katara's brick breaks.

    Katara : Sub: 0HP, -5PP // -4PP, -13HP : Horne

    With just one target to go for now, Horne is free to show Katara how she really feels. A swift thunderbolt falls from the sky, frying the emporess penguin nicely. It's poetic justice, one might say, but Katara strikes back with a steel wing.

    Katara : -14HP, -3PP // -7PP, -9HP : Horne

    Horne responds with one more thunderbolt, but Katara endures the hit and hits the large water creature with another powerful brick break.

    Horne charges forward and smashes into Katara with another tackle, fueling up the penguin's already bulky attack stat in the process. Katara returns the favor by striking back with a fiercely powerful brick break.

    Katara : -9HP, -1 Spd, +2 Atk, -5PP // -4PP, -15HP : Horne

    Horne unleashes her next attack -- another furious thunderbolt -- which rains down from the sky and strikes Katara. But honeybadger Katara don't care, and she instead retaliates with another brick break.

    Katara : -14HP, -5PP // -7PP, -15HP : Horne

    Horne bulldozes once more, maxing out Katara's attack prowess, and then gets sent across the plain by the penguin's super-powered giga impact...

    Yeah, I don't think anyone's coming back from that.
