Race for Life!

Hey TPMers!

Weasel Overlord and I are being really crazy (but really awesome) and doing the Race for Life on the 9th of June.

Since it's a Brit thing, I should probably explain. The Race for Life is run by Cancer Research UK and is a women only fund raising event. We're running jogging 5K/3ish miles dressed as Clefairy Gijinkas.

Well, I know Wurze is doing this for very similar reasons as me, but I will let her explain XP I'm doing this because PichuLuver (River/Rio) is suffering with cancer again, and I just want to do something to help. I can't do a lot for her, living so far away, but knowing that the money I raise will help continue research into treating and curing cancer makes me feel like I can help, y'know?

I still can't believe how strong Rio seems through all this. I really admire her for that :3

But here come the pleas... Please will you sponsor us? I don't know if you can do it internationally, I've never done this before, and if you can't, then don't worry. We'll post pictures and maybe our progress of our training (oh yes, we're gonna do some training, or we might collapse XD). But yeah, it would be awesome if anyone at all could give anything

Bex put it a lot better than I could, but yeah, my reasons are the same as hers; it sucks monkeyballs being so far away from your friends when all you want to do is hug them non-stop and help as much as you can, so this is basically as much of a contribution as I'm able to make considering the circumstances. unless someone wants to fund me to fly to Canada forever and be the constant purveyor of hugs to Rio then that would of course be fine too

re: the sponsoring* - I checked out the website process just now, and it seems like paypal is accepted! Very helpful (you don't have to worry about the GiftAid part, since that only applies to UK taxpayers hah I knew volunteering in a charity shop would pay off somehow!)

So far, we're thinking we might get some shirts printed up Clefairy wings and tail on the back, of course~! And I am fairly determined to wear the most adorbs pair of stripy pink shorts I can find. THAT'S RIGHT, I PLAN ON LOOKING LIKE CANDY FLOSS. WOO!

On my end, training pretty much starts tomorrow! Although I have been powerwalking up my very steep hills to and from work, so I guess that'll help?

TWO AND A HALF MILES TODAY. FUCK YEAH!

I have no idea for my mileage per jog, HOWEVER I got my sponsorship form back from work today and I'm officially 130% done! I've raised £130 altogether so far, zomfg!

On Wednesday, I'm going to be selling a buttload of cupcakes at my mum's work for more moneys, so that'll be pretty awesome too
