Something Really Weird Just Happened in My Sapphire Version...

I was releasing some Pokémon that I really don't use... And I was gonna release Tentacruel and when I released it the screen started flashing and a lot of !!!!!!! points came up... Then it said that Tentacruel came back... Then the game said "Was it worried about you?" I tried to released it again and the same thing happened... What could this mean?

Ohh...what's weird. MAybe, the reason is that Tentacruel don't want to leave you or something...or maybe a glitch in the game...

that is VERY odd O_o. I have never heard of that happening before, lol. My bet is its some sort of glitch, but whatever it is, keep the tentacruel, and you can tell all your friends "this is the pokemon that loves me back!"

Hmm, I odn't think this is a glitch. R/S probably has a few surprises, and one of them is clingy Pokemon.

heh, 50 bucks says ur tentacruel has learned a HM that none of ur other pokemon know. (waterfall, dive, etc)

u cant release a poke if it is ur only poke with a certain HM, try it!

so now i learned waterfall to swampert.

This was done to stop the "Cinnibar Island Glitch" + similar problems that occured in RBY. Wanna try it? You must have a game pack, and someone to trade with. Get the badge required to Surf (I believe it's Lt. Surge's, but don't quote me on that). Trade with someone to get a Surfing pokemon, and immediately Surf to Cinnibar. (DON'T get the HM!) At the island, release said Surfing pokemon into the wild. TA-DAH! You're stuck, permanently, on Cinnibar Island. You have to restart your game to fix it.

Can't you just trade for another surfing pokemon?

well, sorry to say, but ur wrong.

*If you have only taught 1 pokemon 1 HM (that means only one of all ur pokes knows that HM) you cant release it.

start a new game and try it.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Okay now I get it... I recently deleted all my Pokemon in Pokemon Sapphire and yea Tentacruel was the only Pokemon with Dive so I couldn't release it... But I like the idea that it didn't want to leave me so Imma train it now... LoL...

Do you think that the poke's happiness is easier to increase when training if it's in the situation of "not wanting to leave you?"

(more like not being allowed to leave you)

Or is it just a rule created to prevent a glitch & doesn't benefit anything else?

Nope. There's no practical use of this 'glitch'. Doesn't increase the chance of pokerus, doesn't up exp points, doesn't even increase happiness. Problem solved, we can get back to whatever it was we were doing.
