It's time for another one of my crazy polls! Today's subject is... music!
--GENERAL SECTION--
1. What do you think about music lately? (As in, too childish, too "adult", too much rap, pop, rock, hip hop, country, etc. Or is it just right?)
2. What is your favorite style of music, and why?
3. What's your opinion of the newly-named "kissing cousins" (aka Britney Spears and Madonna). And please, don't start spouting flames. Wouldn't want to burn my shirt.
4. Are you an avid listener of a certain band, or theme of music? (By theme I mean Final Fantasy soundtracks, Pokemon soundtracks, holding a Game Boy up to your ear for an hour, etc.)
5. What's your favorite topic in music?
--POKEMONIZED SECTION--
6. Do you own any Pokemon music CD's? If so, how many, and which ones?
7. What is your favorite song on a Pokemon CD?
8. What is your favorite theme from the Pokemon anime? (i.e. the original, Orange Islands, Johto Journeys, etc. themes)
9. What song, if any, do you think should NOT have been included on any of the Pokemon CD's? Why do you feel the way you do?
10. Would you consider buying more Pokemon CD's, if they came out? Why or why not?
And my answers:
1. Honestly, I think the music industry's gotten too caught up in the "adult" image. I'd rather go back to the days of fifty trillion boy bands than see some of the newer stuff.
2. Other than Pokemon, I'd have to say classical. Yes, I'm weird. So sue me.
3. I don't mind if those ladies do stuff in their spare time, but I think kissing is out of place during a nationally televised awards show, whether it's heterosexual, homosexual, etc. (I hate to think of what you could come up with for "etc", but I'm sure there's something.)
4. I'm a huge fan of the Pokemon CD's. I've also got a friend who has all the Final Fantasy soundtracks (hence my mentioning it in the question).
5. Probably goal-oriented, positive stuff. I'm not into the "kill, hate, destroy" stuff myself, though I'm sure some people can relate.
6. I own every one I could get my hands on. Let's see... 2 B. A. Master, Pokemon the First Movie soundtrack, Pokemon 2000 soundtrack, Pokemon 3 soundtrack, Totally Pokemon, and Pokemon Christmas Bash. That amounts to six (which just happens to be the number of this question! Wow!).
7. Probably "Dreams" on the Pokemon 2000 CD (track 2), though Wonderland and Flying Without Wings (tracks 4 and 7, same CD) come pretty close. I also get a kick out of some of the old 2 B. A. Master songs, and Brock's dilemma in "Two Perfect Girls" on the Pokemon 3 CD (can't remember which track, though I do know it also has a karaoke version) was great.
8. Well, I always seem to like the newer themes better than the ones before, but for some reason I've always enjoyed the Orange Islands theme. I want to take the ultimate step, have the courage to be full... to risk it all, and not forget, the lessons that I hold... I wanna go where no one's been, far beyond the ground... to learn the way to take command, to use the power that's in my hand... *trails off dreamily*
9. Ugh, I have always hated "Dance of the Bellossom" on the Pokemon 2000 CD (track 15). Really, hearing the Pokemon chant their names means nothing, even to the biggest fan, without seeing what's going on. Plus, if you have a non-Pokefan in the car, while most of the other songs make perfect sense even out of context, Pokemon noises wouldn't make sense to anyone who didn't watch the show. I would have rather the anime version of the Orange Islands theme taken up that space. Of course, I can't say I like the karaoke songs much better on the Pokemon 3 CD, but "Dance of the Bellossom" can be downright irritating if played at the wrong moment. (Note to self: NEVER turn on CD player with friends in the car!)
10. Most definitely. Heck, I've even started a thread in General Discussion over my search for the newer CD's!![]()
