Stories High: Where Characters come to Learn.

You have defeated monsters, saved worlds, hidden your powers, and prevented countless annihilations. Now when all the dust has settled, its time to pack up the weapons, magic books, and armor. Break out the school books, and prepare for months of study, exams, and dances!

Stories High has been around since the early eighties, a place for young characters of any genre to come and complete their studies between journeys. Many famous characters have thus passed through between the years, and many more still attend, either as teachers or students that are nearing graduation. As a student here, you have taken off time either before your next journey, or having just finished up one. Here you will meet others who look familiar or entirely different, those that you have journeyed with before, or may in the future.

Here though, the adventures take a back seat to more important things, classes based around shooting or swinging weapons, dealing with transformations, and other useful things, not to mention the regular courses of math, literature, and the humanities. Your teachers will be tough but fair, but allowed to deal out punishments in their own special way.

Welcome to Classes, Welcome to High School, Welcome to Stories High.

~*~*~*~*~ This is living ~*~*~*~*~

With a trembling hand I brought the spoon full of cereal up to my mouth, taking a large bite out of it before letting it drop down to the bowl. I considered it an amazing event whenever I was able to make it all the way up with out spilling anything. For three years I had been on the medicine, to keep the bad dreams away, to keep the nightmares away. The doctor had told me that it was all in my head, that there was no such thing as a Digital World. I moved the spoon up again, my hand trembling so bad that I dropped the spoon from my hand, sending it clattering to the ground. Wincing in frustration I shoved the bowl across the table of my two small bedroom apartment and rose.

I can do this, I can do this. My stomach grumbled, pained with hunger, but class was starting soon, my first class, my first high school class, my first time to be out and on my own. “I wish you were here dad.” I whispered to myself, grabbing the pink pill off the counter and swallowing it down with a quick gulp of orange juice. That tiny little pill was the cause of my shakes, my trembling, and what felt like constant fear. Yet if I didn’t take it the nightmares would come back.

“Its worth it, that way no one thinks I’m crazy.” I whispered to myself, telling me what my aunt had told me over and over again. So that I’m not crazy. I quickly moved to my book bag, opening it and flipping through all the necessary things for my first day of classes. Leo’s class, the books that we had to have were ‘The Time Machine’, ‘The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe’, and two others, I quickly found the first three, but ‘The Time Machine’ was missing.

Suddenly my heart began to beat faster, my chest tightened, and my shaking grew worse. “Where is it.” I quickly rushed through the apartment, opening up drawers, tossing over books. “Where is it, where is it.” My heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest. I was missing a book on the first day! The teacher would be mad, he would be so mad.

My watch beeped, signaling that if I didn’t leave that I would be late to my first class. Clinching my eyes shut, I tried to calm my heart, he would understand, or I could just borrow one of the books from a student. I quickly grabbed my book bag, rushing down the steps and across the freshly cut lawn, dew spraying against my shoes as I ran toward the beautifully sculpted two story school. The pillars that lined against the school were supposed to be made out of pure marble, as were the floors inside, inside were hallways, lined with lockers on each side, each few lockers separated by class room doors.

“Leo… Leo..” I gulped, finding the door and opening it, my whole body shaking like a leaf now from fear and the medicine. The room looked like a typical class room with wooden desks with metal bars connecting the desk to a plastic chair. The table in the front of the classroom having some figurines of Legendary Pokemon. “I’m not late.” I sighed, taking the nearest seat and slumping down in it.

Taking a deep breath, I swallowed once and clinched my eyes shut, my heart beating quickly as it dawned on me that I forgot to take my emergency heart medicine with me. “Calm down Laura.” I whispered to myself, “Calm down…” I whispered again.

“Laura..” Another voice finished the sentence.

Alright guys welcome to Stories High! If you guys are not late to class you can get your locker set up, Classy will post soon and start class, if you post before that, then just get ready for class and get there. The Cafeteria will be open to serve breakfast also. The books on the reading list are the two I mentioned in my post, or at least that is what Classy told me! Welcome to school!
