Convergence
Consequences

In the year 2137, an event occured that changed life on our world irreversibly. The great, advanced technology of Earth collapsed, ceasing to function, as reality itself was changed. The cause was what came to be known as a Convergence, a wholly natural process where universes merged together, combining their disparate essences into one. Technology failed, since the natural laws it was founded on were changed, electricity still existed, but circuits and other complex electrical devices, for the most part, failed, never working properly. The technological collapse killed billions of the 12 billion inhabitants of the world, decreasing it by two thirds.

Roughly sixty five percent the survivors found themselves changed, as the inhabitants of the other universe, spiritual beings of raw power, were merged with them, with varying results, for some, the mental part of the spiritual essence became a companion, for others, it was a master or a slave, and for a few, it became a merger. It quickly became apparent that those 'Reborn' by this process came in a number of varieties, the majority of which declared genocide upon the minority, who had been the rulers of the spiritual realm before the Convergence. However, after slaying them all to a man, they found that the spiritual essence was merely transferred to a new body, causing another Rebirth.

Thus, the newly formed Earthborn Order formed the Eternal Hunt, a military force dedicated to hunting down the unwanted Reborn, and prevent them from gaining power. The Order, over the following centuries became more corrupt, selfish, and decadent. The only thing keeping things running smoothly is the administration of the Four Oligarchs in charge. Normal humans have come to be a secondary class, considered inferior, and treated little better than slaves.

The year is Order Year 1553, and events are escalating in what used to be North America, specifically the southeast, where verdant forests and plains border the sun blasted deserts of the central south. The Hunt is undermanned there, and those Reborn who have been hunted for so long at last have a fighting chance. Will you be one of them? Will you tip the balance? Only Fate knows for sure, what will happen in the city of Verdanis, and the surrounding countryside?

You are an individual in these events, what side you're on is your choice, but before we go further, it's glossary time.

Important Terms:
Reborn: An individual carrying a Spiritual Essence, granting them to do fantastic things by harnessing the forces of the Aether. There are five varieties, split into three groups.

Aether: The mystical essence that now makes up all things, and which life forms produce.

Earthborn: A Reborn aligned with the world, and connected to one of the four elemental forces, they make up roughly seventy percent of all the Reborn. They can live to 7-800 years of age.

Star-Child: A Reborn alighned with the stars, they are connected to concepts such as ordered systems, beauracracy, and other political endeavours, as well as stealth and deception. They can live(potentially) to 3400 years of age.

Moon-Child: A Reborn aligned with the moon, they have a connection to a specific animal, and can turn into both that animal, and a hybrid battle form of that animal and themselves. Born survivors, they can also take on the forms of(but not a hybrid of) any animal or person they devour the heart of. They can live(potentially) to 2800 years of age.

Sun-Child: A Reborn aligned with the sun, they have a connection to pure, ultimate potential, and an additional ability, ranging from simple things like a combat sense, to control of metal objects. They can live(potentially) to 4000 years of age.

SkyBorn: The Sun, Moon, and Star Children, as a group. They make up for roughly 10% of the Reborn. As a rule, they are almost always more potent than an Earthborn.

HellBorn: The Demons, Reborn connected to pure chaos, they are impurity incarnate, driven insane, having potent shapeshifting and regeneration, becoming roving killing machines. Make up 20% of the Reborn.

Geographical notes: What used to be Texas, and the areas north and west of it have become a complete sun blasted desert, filled with potent animals and beasts adapted to the horrific climate, they are now known as the Aclintic Wastelands. What used to be Louisiana, and the areas to the north and east are fertile forests and plains, with their own, but less common, predators and beasts, now known as the Verdant Heartland.

Aether Use: Beyond what is stated above, Reborn can use Aether to bolster their bodies, making them tougher, stronger, and quicker than a normal human could hope to be. Another common trick is that some will reinforce their weapons with Aether, so that they won't break during combat.

Appearance:Stands slightly short at 5'5", she has extremely dark skin, having lived most of her life in the sun blasted wastelands, coupled with almost white sun-bleached hair pulled back in a long ponytail to her waist. She is clothed in a simple, but durable pants and tunic combination, all in a beige color, along with durable beige leather boots and a simple looking broadsword strapped across her back. Her dark eyes always seem to be on the lookout for danger.
Personality: Hard, but fair, as well as a good judge of character. Tali respects strength, honesty, and the ability to survive, and tends to be a bit gruff. If a person is decietful, unloyal, or otherwise dishonest, she won't even listen to them. Is a nice enough person, if one can get past her shell, and isn't averse to helping those who need it.
