MUSIC START: "I'm Waiting" - The All-American Rejects
~*~*~*~*~*~
"Down, don't you know... don't you know where I'll be?
'Cuz I'll be here on my own... waiting.
So I'll be waiting, when I'm waiting...
I've been here before and I don't care where I'm going,
And as long as you're gone, I'll stay..."
~*~*~
It had been a particularly odd day- although, Akio had a sneaking suspiscion that he was in for a long duration of 'odd' days. In the matter of what seemed like minutes, he had witnessed both Cho and her boyfriend, Ryuu, call forth some strange powers and attack the strange creature-students. While Akio showed no visible signs of shock or fear, he was quite impressed. It was amazing how fluidly the powers were called forth... and the adorable thing that Cho brought forth packed quite a punch.
After it was said and done, Dai and his sister were safe. A few words were exchanged, one of which was Akio hugging Dai tightly in happiness that one of his childhood friends was safe. This was followed by Aria-chan yelling at Akio to let Dai breath and so-forth. Akio had let go soon after, and then heard as Cho asked Ryuu to come to her house.
A sharp prickling sensation rose upon Akio's back... as if he were being watched- he and others. His sharp golden gaze looked about for a moment, before he came back to reality. Smiling brightly at everyone, he gave a light bow.
"I must be going..."
"Are you alright Akio?" Dai questioned, although Akio was quick to answer.
"Oh of course! I just forgot I have... well, some papers to take care of. Mustn't let them wait!"
And as common as Akio was around, he was gone.

"Akio-sama... are you alright?" A small, timid voice rose from the illuminated hallway. Akio lifted his head off of his silken pillow to see the frail form of Taguri. With a weak smile rising from his lips, Akio gave a staggering nod.
"I'm alright Taguri-chan... don't worry about me. I'm going to bed early." Silence filled the air for a moment, as she took a step back and hesitated.
"Akio-sama... are you lonely?"
If Akio had been a cat, his ears would have perked up immediately. Swiftly he sat up from his bed, the smooth sheet falling from his naked chest under the glow of the setting sun through his window. Taguri blushed instantly, looking away but Akio laughed.
"I'm just shirtless Taguri... it really is alright. You go swimming enough to know that." Taguri turned her head and nodded, her demeanor still quite timid. Akio patted the spot upon the bed next to him and she quickly dashed to the spot, sliding up upon the tall mattress.
The room itself was quite spacious and seemed oddly circular in shape, although a closer inspection would show the small flats in the wall. A few curved bookcases molded themselves into the walls, their wooden color flooded with orange light, giving them the color of pottery mud. Akio's own bed was actually a canopy bed, the semi-transparent cover a light golden color that glowed with an enchanting fiery look with every sunrise and set. Beyond that upon the ceiling were star constellations... intricately aligned with glowing star stickers and intricate glowing dots for atmosphere.
"I'm not lonely Taguri-chan... why would you ask that?" Akio questioned, bringing his legs up upon the bed in a pretzel-sitting fashion, his back arching inward towards her with his relaxed posture. Akio's pristine skin molded with each position, especially along his shoulders and abdomen. While he was not extremely muscular or beefy, he was well-toned and proved the fact that size was not everything. In fact, his broad shoulders and elegant yet powerful stride was due to his earlier years when he was on the city swim team. With the demand of his studies however, Akio left the team and on weekends would swim on occasion- although every 'swimming' excursion was by no means relaxing.
"Because... you... you never bring any friends here." Taguri said quietly, her eyes looking everywhere but at Akio. Akio merely smiled.
"That's because I have so many other places to take them!"
"Then why are you here so early... so often?" She questioned, her eyes peering at him for a moment. Akio paused.
"Hmmm... I suppose I get tired quite often."
"Really?" She asked. It was at that moment that Akio realized that while she was a child, her questions were rather startlingly perceptive. Akio however smiled, taking his large hand and patting her on the head.
"Yup. Plus tomorrow I have a lot of studying to do."
With this, Taguri smiled broadly and leapt upwards.
"Yay!!! Does this mean you'll teach me Chinese?"
"Yes yes... of course. I'll have plenty of breaks tomorrow."
Taguri nodded, dashing out the bedroom and giving a small 'goodnight' before eagerly leaving the room.
I wish I didn't have to study tomorrow... Akio thought with a sigh, collapsing backwards upon his bed. His hair splayed over the pillow and he found himself staring through the canopy top and at the stars upon the ceiling.
I wonder what Dai and Hotaru are doing... Akio found himself day dreaming about the two. Dai's strong, bold gaze and his strikingly clear-chiseled demeanor. Hotaru's graceful and elegant movements, his bright warmth that always seemed to rush over Akio like a cool wave.
"Uuuuhhhhhh... I bet Hotaru is smothering Dai..." Akio mumured to himself, rolling over on his side. His eyes stared at the glowing sunfire window, the sun slowly diving into the darkened horizon.
Cho's probably eating dinner by now... Akio's mind darted to Cho. He could feel her strong playful jab to his shoulder and her fingers licking through his hair for good luck. He had been so proud of her when she had protected Dai and Aria... working so fluidly, so confidently...
Akio's chest began to boil from within.
Like a seasaw, Akio's mind swiveled back and forth between them all. At one point, he randomly remembered that he still owed a picnic to Satoshi... which led him to wonder if he should have a big picnic and invite lots of people. That led him to remember that most people find it sociably unacceptable to mix Furin with Kazan, especially with his position on the Student Council. That THEN reminded him that he had a late meeting with the Student Council... which meant that his studying would be cut off early.
"I wonder how the cram sessions go for everyone else..." Akio said absently, the darkness spilling over the sky.
Akio did not go a cram school. He was instructed, by his father, long ago that Akio was to be an independent person and study on his own using their resources. For three years, Akio had studied not just for school but also for college. He despised it, but obediently he did it on the days his other friends were at "cram school."
"Cram... what a crude yet to the point word..." Akio thought absently, sighing as he rolled over onto his stomach and shoved his face in the pillow with a mopey moan.
"I'll go to the cafe tomorrow..." Akio then decided, when it was two hours past when he had talked with Taguri. The night sky was in full and the moon's piercing rays ricocheted into his room, the stars upon his ceiling glowing like a continuation of the sky.
His mind occasionally trickled back to his earlier thoughts of a few of his friends... and that little ache in his chest came back to him as it had before. Firmly closing his eyes, Akio forcibly tried to think of something to lull him into a sleep, but for some reason he was restless. Sleep alluded him despite how heavy his eyelids felt and how much his eyes burned.
"What's wrong with me...?" Akio thought, biting his lip absently as his chest continued to splinter.
