...Just on the border of your waking mind...
In a system far away from here is a small planet simply known as Arkos. Here, a civilization similar to ours exists. People work, play, and live their lives from day to day with little fear of the strange. Money and power rule the people and wars are sometimes engaged because of this.
...There lies another time...
But one thing differs between their world and ours: every night, just after dusk, a beautiful phenomenon occurs where everyone is taken to Another Time. I would be lying if I said this place was unlike any other in existence. In fact, it’s almost exactly the same world as Arkos, but for about 4 to 5 hours, an entire segment of the past day is repeated; a sort of retrograde time where people can live through a part of their day a second time.
...Where darkness and light are one...
Unfortunately, this is no trip to the past. Time cannot be changed; only rewitnessed. And for the average person, this is more than enough to leave memory to rest. As Another Time only comes during the night, most people experience it as what they feel is an unearthly recall dream. A sense of distorted déjà-vu of their past day that can be both sweetly and bitterly enjoyed.
...And as you tread the halls of sanity...
Yet, there are those who, for whatever reason, cannot sleep at night. These people know that Another Time is real...and alive. For it is said that anyone who can remain awake for all the night hours, those people will have free roam of all the memories of the people of the world.
...You feel so glad to be unable to go beyond...
Unlike those who sleep, these people are welcome to wander through the experiences of any other person in the world. Anyone of conscious mind is allowed to soar through the skies in search of anything that may be of value to themselves. Some would call them enlightened, others may dub them cursed. Regardless, these Twilightwalkers are the only ones that know what is truly happening in Another Time and the destruction it is slowly bringing to the world...
...I have a message from another time...
For the past decade, the people of Arkos have been on the brink of war; the tension over the years has only escaladed into a more and more severe breaking point. Should the fighting ever begin, it would spell doom for not only the inhabitants, but the entire planet itself. Each country has developed its own array of mass-destruction weapons capable off destroying giant cities in a single blow. This has put the entire population under fearful stress, even causing insomnia in a number of people. You are one of these insomniacs, and clinically diagnosed as such. In order to help you through these hard and complicated times, your doctor has recommended you join an Insomnia Research Institute in order to find the root of your problems and possibly resolve them....
Name: Pretty much anything, considering it’s a completely foreign planet.
Age: Normal ages, preferably between late teens and mid-thirties
Gender: Either-or... These people are still human.
Appearance: Nothing crazy, but the civilization is basically Earth in about 20 or so years.
Personality: Have fun! Just remember that everyone, regardless of your personality, is an insomniac
Specialty: This is your gravity power (which will come in very quickly). Basically, everyone will have this power, but you will specialize in using it one way or another. Whether that is flight, gravity rotation, or even compression, you need to have expertise in some area.
History: Keep this rather limited to the past 2 or 3 years, and why your character has become an insomniac and why they turned to the clinic.
