Dang, I wanted to comment on the last chapter first. Guess that's what I get for waiting so long.
I know we're in the final stretch, but compared to similar situations at the end of Mandate and TYD I can only use the word anticlimactic.
True the opponents have been shown throughout the story, but a half a paragraph of history that we have never even seen isn't enough to make the situation personal.
And what's with the reoccurring theme of evil teacher's anyway? My suspension of disbelief has indeed been stretched to the breaking point. I've always taken your fics with a grain of salt, and even an eyeroll every once in awhile, but these are just popping up out of nowhere.
The Hero characters have been great so far. You definitely want to show their style completely for the last time, as this may be their last appearances in fiction. The opponents however, also scream anticlimactic.
Morphotronics, fun as they are, don't exactly scream "final boss." Like anything, it may have worked with a bit of backstory and/or setup, but you seem to have lost the "fighting for our lives" factor from the previous chapters.
Same for Curran and Pikeru. I'd forget I was in mortal danger if I was facing something that cute. (could have been a nice psychology of letting the guard down if it was touched on)
The Baby from Trial of the Princesses was inspired indeed, but SO could have used a better name. As a final note, it's a shame Sam's finale was so short. She had become possibly my favorite character.
Chelsea has a soft spot. Check the Avatar, I'm a sucker for vampires. (pun noticed, but I couldn't help it. Smack me if you wish)
