The Six Families

We have lived among you since the beginning of humanity. We have been your cat, your dog, the bird that craps on your shoulder, the horse running in the field that you drive past, the mouse that scampers across your floor in the middle of the night. We are ‘Twin Species’, Humans gifted with the ability to become the animal of the species family they were born into. We hide among you, living lives and keeping secrets in ways that you can never imagine.

The families we have been born into are some of the most powerful in the world, we are like the mafia except with claws and fur. And our families have one rule: Never, Ever, Expose ourselves to humans.

If we do, the human who finds out, he or she doesn’t get their mind wiped, they do not get a chance to make a empty promise to keep our secret, we find them, and we Kill Them

Out of all of the things the six families control, they only actually control very few schools. And of those they are scattered across the planet. One of those few schools is North County High. The school you currently attend, which you knowingly or unknowingly know is controlled by the five families, right down to the teachers.

For a Twin Species this is a very important time in your life, during your teenage years you spend life in the human world, learning how to walk among them as you deal with your awakening animal side that you become aware of at puberty. After graduation from North County High you will spend the next five years of your life living as a animal, completely giving up your human life for those five years.

But for now you attend High School, a experience that normally would be torturous, made even worse by the fact you now have to deal with the ever present animal side, and all the draw backs and problems that brings with it. Although the teachers there know of your lineage and will even help you deal with it. You share classes with humans as well who can never learn of your secret.

To make matters worse the families hate each other, the felines war with the canines, the avians with the rodents, the equines with the insects. Give you a whole set of bullies before you even step foot inside of the building!

But enemies, friends, secrets, and over baring parents are all part of High School. So welcome to North County High

As mentioned above there are Six Families of Species you can be a part of if you choose to be a Twin Breed.

Felines: Covering everything from the normal House Cat to a powerful Lion

Canines: Covering everything from a normal trained Dog, to a powerful wolf.

Equines: Covering everything from a Horse, to Cows, Sheep, Donkeys, anything with hooves.

Avians: Everything type of flying bird.

Insects: Creepy Crawly insects from Spiders to Lady Bugs.

Rodent: Mice, Rats and Squirrels

Twin Breeds are given three forms that they can switch from based on their emotional state.

Human: Of course your human form, it is completely indistinguishable from any other human except for possible hints of your nature.

Furry Form: Named after the Fetish known as “Furries”, this is brought about by a quick shock, an emotional kiss, or a quick burst of anger at some one. This form can contain anything from just a small addition of a tail or wings, to full blown fur and a half way merger with your other half.

Animal: The complete animal form, completely indistinguishable from any other animal of the same breed.

Name: Kathy Felis
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Race: Twin Species
Family: Feline
Breed: Tiger
Appearance Human: She is know as the beauty of North County High, her wild mane like hair dips below her shoulders, the almost orange colored hair that she almost never brushes, adding a absolutely wild like beauty to her. She has piercing hazel eyes, which have intimidated even the strongest man at the school. Her face and body are almost with out blemish, having curves of a adult woman and firm C-Cup breasts.

She is usually wearing a red leotard, spending most of her time in the gym training for the school gymnastics team. When she actually attends classes she wears the typical school uniform of her old school of a button down white blouse and blue skirt.
Appearance Furry: Same appearance with the addition of a Tiger tail and ears.
History: Kathy had a harder time adapting to her heritage than usual children. Leaving her school and friends to attend the new High School, and then the sudden shock of the emergence of her Tiger side scarred the girl. What was once a shy, friendly, and smiling child, turned into a quiet, focused, competitive teenage girl almost over night.
Personality: She is also known as the beast of North County High, as leader of the Gymnastic’s team she has employed almost a pack like mentality. She will not tolerate weakness or failure. She does not like to talk much and is used to having things done her way. Challenging her usually is rewarded with a icy glare.
Other: No one has cracked her shell and seen her smile since the Tiger emerged when she was 13. She has never dated or even kissed a boy and tends to focus on training her body.

Name: Adam Leone
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Race: Twin Species
Family: Feline
Breed: Lion
Appearance Human: He's very short for his age, looking two to three years younger than he should be, his body is very frail and doesn't have much fat on it, and he looks like he spends most of his time in doors. He did survive and eventually was adopted by a loving family. He grew up completely unaware of his heritage, and was bullied constantly. Despite that, he has a incredibly bright mind and was able to leap frog several grades to the point that he is scheduled to graduate High School before he turns 16.
Other: Didn't know until recently he was a Twin Species when he experienced his first change.

Kathy Felis

Ten seconds… I grip the bar, flipping and twisting wildly to build up speed, faster and faster I flip, faster and faster I twist. It was a science, a art form, to know when to release your grip on the bar, when you have built up enough speed to glide gracefully, not forcefully, but gracefully across the air to the second uneven bar.

I would close my eyes during the whole process, never daring open them, instead I placed all the trust in my body, and when it was time to let go I just knew. It is a rush in a way, being able to perform so gracefully that you awe your audience.

I released my grip from the bar, one second of flight, and then half a second to flip around the second bar before I could perform the half twist. I had done it so many times I had it down to the very second.

“Miss Kathy.” A voice pierced my thoughts, the brief interruption was enough to throw my timing off, my hand slipped from the bar in mid twist. For any less of a athlete they would have fallen at that moment. But because of my… special heritage, I had the strength to maintain my body weight with one hand as I finished the twist, spinning two more times before dropping from the bar.

“Why the hell are you talking to me, why the hell did you even interrupt me?” I growled, grabbing the towel off the ground and dabbing the sweat off my forehead. My eyes drifted over to the young girl, no older than a sophomore as she stood there in the doorway, her body shaking. “Do you realize how big of a screw up you just made?” I added a slight growl to the end of the sentence, dabbing the sweat off my neck as I glared at her.

“I-I-I’m so s-s-sorry” She stammered, her hand gripping the doorframe hard enough that it looked as if she would fall over if it wasn’t for it.

“You’re s-s-sorry?” I asked, repeating her stutter in a snide fashion as I began to move toward her. “I don’t care if you are s-s-sorry.”

“The principle sent me to find you, they want you at the pep rally to introduce the Gymnastics team.” She blurted out, her eyes closed, looking almost as if she had just wet herself.

Tossing the towel aside I continued past her, I could smell her fear; it was a sweet, almost intoxicating scent. I briefly licked my lips and continued on to the main gym just a few doors down. I was one of very few words, and while the practice for which I was participating in was not essential, I still did not enjoy being erupted.

As I entered the revolting and disgusting smell of so many teenagers washed over me. I was used to the smell of sweat and body odor, I just could not stand such a concentrated dose of it.

One of the teachers took notice of my entrance and rushed up to the Principle who was finishing up the introduction of the football team. “And next up is Kathy Felis, who is our lead gymnast.” She quickly said, moving away from the mic almost immediately after the words left her mouth as I walked up upon the stage.

Standing in the middle of the gym I could see half the student body, two grades sat in the bleachers in front of me, the other two which I had focused on when I came in were behind me. So when a few in the freshman class began to whistle and whisper quietly, I knew exactly where they were sitting and what they looked like.

“I’m Kathy Felis, I am the top gymnast at the school, I am the top gymnast in the district, and I am one of the best in the country. Do not make eye contact with me, and do not piss me off.” After I had finished my short speech, I turned and walked right out of the gym. I wasn’t one for poetic speeches, or long introductions. The purpose was served and I had been introduced, now it was back to practice.

Adam Leone

I clutched my backpack, my trimmed fingernails digging into the fabric. Just two nights ago it had happened, out of no where I had grown long blonde hair that dipped down to my mid back, I had grown a tail, and my ears had rounded out and moved to the top of my head. It had lasted only a few horrible minutes, minutes that had been scarred into my brain.

It just wasn’t possible for such a thing to happen, and ever since that moment I tried to tell myself that very fact. That humans could not grow tails, it was just genetically impossible. That matter could not be created out of thin air, that it violated a wide range of scientific laws. But no matter how many times my rational mind would tell me it was impossible, there was a equally vocal part of my mind that told me with up most certainty that it did happen.

The school bus slowly came to a final stop outside of the school, ending its trek with a familiar jerk as the double doors opened and people began to file out. I wanted to desperately erase the memories from my mind, I was just a normal thirteen year old sophomore, who’s IQ beat out most if not the entire student body. I could accept that I was smart; I just could not accept that I could grow a tail.

I eventually made my way into the school at my own pace, which usually meant being shoved and pushed in a wide variety of different directions. Being shoved, pushed, and kicked was just something I had accepted as school life, something that had been part of my life for a very long time.

The first few hours of the school was reserved for a opening assembly for the entire student body, held in the school’s huge gymnasium. If it was anything like last year’s it was just a glorified pep rally, meant to introduce the latest athletes for the mindless masses to drool over. For me, it was time for me to catch up on my studies before I began AP Physics.

When I reached the gym, and took my seat with my classmates, my suspicions were quickly confirmed. A good portion of the presentation would just be a glorified pep rally. “Mindless dribble..” I mumbled to myself, rubbing the moisture off my glasses which had collected from the humid room.

As I flipped through the pages of my text book, a voice caught my attention. Something deep inside of me whispered for me to look up, to pay attention for this person was important.

Eventually the urge was just too powerful, and I looked up to see a girl in a leotard making a quick speech, her voice dripping with anger and annoyance. I couldn’t explain how, but I just knew, deep down I just knew. That she was just like me. She could become some kind of animal like I did.

Some how I just knew it.

Alright well it’s the first day of the new school year! Get to the school, those that know the secret probably will know most of the Twin Species, although since Adam’s animal just emerged, he was just a normal human to the rest of you until today.
