The Legendary RPG Created by Vulpix.ck, a TPM Original from 2001

The year was 2007. It’s been 14 years since the pride of the Pokémon League, Red, rose to stardom. Team Rocket was thought to have been abandoned 9 years ago. For some time, there was peace on earth.

They came with out warning, Team Rocket the group long thought abandoned rose up almost over night. Explosions rocked cities all along Johto and Kanto, causing thousands of deaths, and even more injured. Worst of all the government of the two lands were destroyed; the capitals were in flames, their leaders badly maimed or dead. The countries were thrown into chaos as people hid in fear, clinging to their families.

With one week of terror Team Rocket was ready, poised to sweep in and take over the countries of Johto and Kanto, the resistance against their rule was light, with fear of further waves of bombings keeping many at bay. By the end of the year Team Rocket had cemented their rule, destroying the constitution of the two nations in favor of one built on fear and tyranny.

For the civilians it was even worse, Pokemon that could be considered a threat to Team Rocket were banned, either rounded up and redistributed to Team Rocket members, or destroyed out right. Adults suspected of being dangerous to Team Rocket’s reign were shipped to concentration camps designed for a slow death. Meanwhile teenagers were recruited into the Team Rocket Corps to train them and turn them into foot soldiers for the regime.

For Team Rocket that wasn’t enough, they wanted the Legendaries, both birds and beasts that were native to both countries and held power far beyond the Pokemon they already had captured. With the Legendaries their rule would be cemented, and no other nation would dare challenge them. As Team Rocket hunted for the Legendary Pokemon, and human and Pokemon alike cried out in fear and anguish, a Pokemon only known in fairy tales was awoken.

~~~~ 2 Years Later ~~~~
You are a member of a small group of teenagers hidden away on the other side of Mt Moon: Midnight Forest, a haven both for your group as you escaped Team Rocket’s dictatorship, and Pokemon lucky enough to escape slaughter by Team Rocket. At first Team Rocket is content with letting pockets of refugee camps such as yours exist, but even their blind eye to the midnight forest has a sinister purpose.
As the year winds down, the first batch of foot soldiers for Team Rocket are nearing their final exam, Team Rocket decides to test their new soldiers by turning them loose upon the Midnight Forest, with orders to put a end to the refugee groups.
As Team Rocket swoops in with their helicopters to attack the Midnight Forest, a small Pokemon zips by. In the Midnight Forest, before your eyes, Mew appears, no longer content with watching the horrors brought upon human and Pokemon, Mew releases a wave of pink energy that washes over you, even catching one of the first Team Rocket Helicopters.
Mew has bestowed upon you the powers of one Pokemon, from the Flamethrower of Charizard, to the morphing powers of Ditto, to the Psychic powers of Abra, each one in the group has received one power. And with it, your body has also added one part from that Pokemon.
Mew has given those of the Midnight Forest the power to fight back against Team Rocket, to end their reign. But Team Rocket now knows of your powers as well, and has now turned its attention to tracking you down for experimentation and dissection.
The fate of millions, the fate of two nations, now rests in your hands.
Name: Roy Karrde ( Teh Original! )
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Alliance: Midnight Forest
Physical Looks: He's around 6 foot with messy dark brown hair, he combs it to the side but he is clearly in need of a haircut. and hazel eyes, he has a semi muscular build, and wears a blue tee shirt which has a red flame on the middle of the shirt, he always wears his dark brown jacket with him, as well as blue jeans with a hole cut out for his tail. His hair mostly hides a long cut on his forehead that he received when he escaped from his captors.
Personality: Roy has grown to be somewhat of a leader to the Midnight Forest Refugees, this causes him a lot of stress, but he is usually upbeat and friendly, he can be distant when the stress overwhelms him, he does not let many see him under stressed and during times in which lives are on the line he can get cold and angry under fire.
History: He was one of the founders of the Midnight Forest Refugee camp, when the bombings happened his parents sent him fleeing to Midnight Forest, as the weeks passed he was joined by some, and made daring raids into some close cities to gather more. He knows his family is dead, but has too many responsibilities in Midnight Forest to worry.
Pokémon: Tyranatar, Chikorita, and Charmander
Power: Flamethrower * In the beginning the power he can shoot a long string of flames from his mouth that could engulf a person, as time goes on his flames will get stronger and be able to engulf several people or create a long barrier of fire * He also has a scaily Charizard tail with a bright flame at its tip. The tail is not very thick and fits his human frame pretty well as he keeps it curled around his leg some times with out the flame burning him or his clothes.
Weapons: He carries a P90 that he was able to get off a Team Rocket soldier off the first battle. He barely uses it because of the amount of ammo it consumes.
Other: None yet although I may change the power/Pokemon part as I am iffy on it.
After a lot of thinking I am going to enforce a 500 word limit, if you have a problem with this please PM or IM me, I promise to make exceptions
~~~ Night, Midnight Forest ~~~~

I made my way through the camp, it was early in the night but I couldn’t help making my rounds around the camp, always looking for something out of place, something sneaking around in the shadows. In the two years since we came here, and severed all of our ties with the out side world, we had only received rumblings and rumors of what was going on in our beloved countries. Every once and awhile some one would make it to the midnight forest, and bring stories about the horrors of the outside world. But even that was few and far between, and the further we got from the day of terror, the day Team Rocket took over Kanto and Johto, the fewer refugees would come.

“Seen anything new?” I asked, approaching Kite, I needed something to break the silence the camp could get quiet at night and with the constant threat we seemed to always be under it was nice having some one to talk to even if it was as boring as the weather.

“Braden wandered off some where about a hour ago, other than that..” He ended his sentence with a shrug. While we enjoyed our freedom, it was pretty boring when the biggest event was the wanderings of our local explorer. “Think we should go after him?”

I sighed, thinking about it, he was pretty good at coming back but with Braden there was always the worry that he would hurt himself or wander off too far. “I’ll go, it’s not like I have anything else to do.” I turned back to him to see Kite was focused on something in the sky.

I turned my head in the direction he was looking, quickly finding what looked like a shooting star, a purple orb that was streaking across the sky from the mountains. “Too close to be a shooting star.” Just as the words left my lips the another bright flash was seen, streaking toward the orb and striking it, a loud boom rocked the ground and shook the trees around us as the orb went crashing to the ground near by.

“Stay here!” I shouted, knowing that it was far too late for that as people left their tents to come out and see what happened. The best I could do was beat the rest to what ever had landed in the forest beyond our camp.

I took off hoping I could out run the others, racing past trees and shoving branches out of my way as I followed a path that would hopefully lead me to the crash site. The further I got away from the fire light of the camp I began to notice a purple glow that seemed to get brighter and stronger the closer I got until I reached a small clearing, in the middle stood Braden with a small crater in front of him and a purplish cat Pokemon hovering in front of him.

“Braden move away, very slowly.” I spoke to the mute boy, who seemed to ignore what I was saying. The Pokemon turned its head past me, gazing off in the distance as if seeing something none of us could see, possibly what ever it was that shot him down.

“Braden” I hissed, trying to get his attention as a small group of people from the camp began to arrive at the sight. Please listen, they are coming for you, take my gift and drive the evil off this land The soft spoken female voice seemed to come from inside our heads like thoughts instead of actually being spoken.

There isn’t much time The words came again, this time the purple Pokemon began to rise into the air, moving higher and higher before stopping, for a moment nothing happened, and then it released a brilliant ball of purple light that washed over us. The light so intense that I had to close my eyes and turn away as it washed over my body, electrifying every cell with an energy that felt like a Pikachu shock.

I didn’t even have a chance to wonder what had just happened when I felt a pain race up my tail bone. My pants were suddenly growing tighter and tighter before ripping. I turned to look over my shoulder and watched in shock as a thick red scaly tail seemed to grow longer and longer until it nearly reached the ground, lit by a small flame on the end.

I barely had a chance to take everything in, as the stunned silence that seemed to fill the air was broken by the sound of gun shots and the rotating blades of helicopters.

Wilson, Lieutenant First Class Team Rocket Soldiers
~~~ Team Rocket Chopper ~~~~
The heavy set man stood at the front of the chopper, holding on to the bars of both sides as the chopper remain lit in a deep dark red light that was used for military missions. The assignment was simple, a search and destroy mission with a bunch of cadets.
“Suit up, we’re two minutes out” He barked to the cadets, the helicopter jerking slightly from turbulence. “You know the drill, shoot first, only get use your Pokemon if you are drawn into the battle.”
His voice was cut off by one of the pilots shouting for his attention from the cock pit. “Sir, we have a contact coming in hot behind us, most likely some kind of early warning Pokemon.” The pilot pointed to the small green radar which showed a dot steadily approaching the helicopter before finally streaking past the windows in the form of a purple ball.
“Shoot it down.” He commanded, the pilot didn’t hesitate, flipping two switches before squeezing the trigger, sending a rocket speeding away from the helicopter and striking the Pokemon. “The second helicopter will land five minutes after we make contact, expect heavy resistance since they most likely know we are coming.” The helicopter began to make it’s decent toward the small twinkling camp fires.
“If all else fails you, rely on your training..” His words were drowned out as the chopper began to reach the ground, the noise filled the cabin as the back ramp lowered and the restraints holding the cadets in were released. Just as the first cadet stepped out of the chopper a blinding purple flash of light filled washed over the cabin, causing many of the cadets to scramble to turn off their night vision goggles.
“What the hell..” Wilson looked around noticing the other cadets standing around in shock at what just happened. Their mission and purpose quickly kicked back in as he grabbed two cadets by the collar, pushing those in front of him out of the chopper. “What are you waiting for! Go!” He shouted.
Wilson is just a NPC character and anyone can use him, you guys can start the fighting if you want, it most likely will be bloody so enjoy experimenting with your new powers.
