Peyton Manning is a playoff choke artist. A regular-season demon, no doubt, but come playoff time, he is incapable of carrying his team in the same way he does throughout a season. The Colts got to the Super Bowl three years back just because the defence finally came alive. And Peyton Manning as Super Bowl MVP? Ludicrous. Just the NFL's way of capping the season off for their QB wet dream. Real Super Bowl MVP? Dominic freakin' Rhodes. And Justin Tuck the next year. They just didn't have the balls to call it like it was.
Manning this year's MVP? Yup, that's alright. I'll give 'em that. But last year? That was bullshit. Kurt Warner gave that team life from beginning to end, while Manning came out of the gates like shit. How can a player who nearly helped cost your team a playoff berth be considered the MVP?
If you're comparing Brady and Manning, it's pretty simple. Manning = better overall QB. Brady = better clutch player. And when the NFL is all about winning Super Bowls, when it comes to playoff time, I'd rather Manning be polishing his precious MVP trophies on the bench.
Chargers/Vikings Super Bowl ftw, since my dreams of Bengals/Cardinals is halfway ruined already.
