*** Star Wars: Hidden Thoughts *** ( Sign Ups )

Nearly 1,000 years before the Empire swept to power, the Grand Republic of the Galaxy was embroiled in a war that had brought it to its knees. The New Sith Empire, long thought on the verge of collapse after centuries of fighting, swept across the galaxy with amazing force. Lead under the charismatic Lord Kaan, and his Brotherhood of Darkness, the New Sith Empire captured numerous systems, and those that didn’t fall to it’s strength, joined willingly after fallen under the charm of Lord Kaan.
The Republic was sent wheeling backwards, forced to defend system after system from the Sith’s armies, the Republic is forced to turn to a untested leader, and the Army of Light, a fighting force mixed with Jedi and Republic troops, which has turned to recruiting force sensitive children to fill its ranks.
After years of fighting, the Sith were poised to attack the core systems, with a dagger pointed directly at Coruscant, the Republic’s seat of power. It comes to the surprise of every one when the New Sith Empire declares a ceasefire at their moment of victory. The Republic jumps on this opportunity, using it to gather supplies and forces, while trying to figure out how to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
For the crew of the Theif’s Shadow, the time is perfect to make some extra money; the ceasefire allows them to travel across enemy lines with out the fear of finding themselves jumping into the middle of a battle. It also allows them to smuggle goods and drugs to needy worlds that have been ravaged by war, as well as sneak Jedi and Sith across enemy lines.
On one of these missions they are tasked with picking up a Jedi lost behind enemy lines, the lost Jedi is retrieved, but dies enroute back to Republic lines, with his last breath he tells of the true reason the cease fire was called. The Sith have discovered a ancient device, one capable of destroying all life on a planet with a single bomb.
This revelation is only one step upon a larger adventure for the crew, as they find themselves on the run from the Sith, along with numerous worlds who would gladly see the war end, even if it meant a Republic defeat, as well as forces acting within the Republic willing to let billions die if it meant a hasty end to the war.
Can the crew warn the Republic in time to save the lives of everyone on Courscant, or will they find themselves the subjects of a New Sith Empire by the time they arrive back.
~~~~~~~~~
Obviously taking place 1,000 years before the time of Vader, there are no X Wings, Stormtroopers, or Tie Fighters, it is more along the line of Knights of the Old Republic in terms of style and technology. I would rather do my best to avoid having a crew full of Jedis and Sith, even though they are cool. The Star Wars Universe is populated with so many races, and so many interesting characters I am sure everyone can make a character that does not seem like a copy of Mace Windu. Oh and any Gungan gets airlocked the first chance we get ~.^
If you wish to do some research on the Expanded Universe, races, weapons, or this time period I would suggest checking out Wookiepedia it really is a bastion of Star Wars knowledge.
Also I will allow for one undercover Jedi on the crew, not a ex Jedi, not a rogue Jedi, but a undercover Jedi meant to keep tabs on the crew during the mission.
Ship Positions
Captain ( Position taken by Roy Karrde ): Obviously the leader of the ship, the first on the planet, the last off, he commands the ship and makes all the top decisions, as well as gets the largest cut in the profit
Mechanic ( Several open positions ): They can build anything, turning a toothbrush and a few steel plates into a blaster pistol, they keep the ship up and running and everything well armed. They are very good at sabotage and are great at sneaking around and planting bombs or disrupting speeders so they group can make a quick get away. They are one part Ninja, one part handyman, and one part MacGyver. ( Cross series promotion! )
Navigator ( Only one position open ): With nerves of steel, and reflexes that seem to only be matched by Jedi, the navigator has to be able to steer the ship through asteroid fields, armadas of ships, or even security platforms that line the atmospheres of planets, some times a combination of all three of those at the same time. One mistake and everyone could end up dead, or worse, stranded half way across the galaxy.
Weapons Officer ( Several open positions ): Either using the ships weapons, or firing his or her own blaster, the weapons officer must always be prepared to gun down in cold blood, the war has forced them to prepare not only to take on capital ships, but to deal with light saber wielding Sith or Jedi who storm the ship looking for smuggled goods. They must be cold blooded killers who also have a sharp eye and a itchy trigger finger.
Droid ( Several open positions ): One part computer, one part trained killer, the droid be it on four wheels, or two feet must be prepared to kill with multiple weapons to protect his owner and crew, at the same time be a repository of knowledge that can interface with any computer. They may be called upon to be a translator, to diagnose the ship’s problems, as well as run and shoot when the need calls for it.
Race/Species: Human
Ship Position: Captain
Weapon: One standard blaster pistol on his belt, a second hold out blaster in his pant leg
History: He was one of billions of war orphans, having lost not only his family but his planet to the war between the Jedi and the Sith. He spent most of his young life making runs with slave traders, learning the tricks of the trade of operating a illegal ship during war time. The stress of the situation eventually made him turn to drugs, taking a form of spice to calm his nerves and lose much of the brutal stress caused by living the life of a slaver. When a slave revolt took the lives of most of the crew and his cargo. He made a jump to the nearest Hutt world and used the ship as collateral for a loan on what eventually became known as the Theif’s Shadow. Over the past dozen or so years he has put together his crew, using his skills as a slave trader to profit in war time under various other semi legal and illegal acts
Appearance: Like many smugglers he does not take much time out for personal grooming, he has his hair slicked back in much like a mullet style, his hair is a deep brown, but with some strands of gray starting to mix in. He looks like he hasn’t shaved for several days thus he has a small amount of beard growth. He has dark brown eyes that seem to always be thinking, searching for a angle, searching for hostility, or just trying to figure out the fastest route out of the room. He wears a black padded trench coat that reaches to his mid thigh; it contains a comlink in it that keeps him in constant contact with the ship. Beneath it he has light armor, that is stitched into a black shirt, a belt that contains his blaster, and black pants that contains the small blaster inside the left pant leg
Other: He is still addicted to spice, but does not let the crew know about his addiction.
I will have my sign up, up soon, obviously I am the captain, and the last name will be Karrde, I mean why not, I originally took the name from a Star Wars Universe character! It would only be fitting!
