The year is 356 AC (After Crash). After nuclear war had rendered Earth unhospitable, what was left of humanity was forced to leave the planet on a fleet of ships known as the “Ark Fleet”, in search of a new world in order for them to survive. After centuries of searching, humanity came across a desolate, desert world, now known as “Wasteland”.

Before proper tests could be conducted to see if the planet was suitable, a disaster occurred amongst the Ark Fleet, causing them to crash land on the planet. Most of the population on the fleet was killed, but enough of humanity survived to prevent total extinction of the race. A good deal of humanity’s futuristic technology was lost in the incident, causing technology to revert back to a semi-primitive form, with a few exceptions of course. Despite the harsh terrain, the atmosphere was breathable, and water was found beneath the planet’s surface, allowing humanity to survive on the planet.

Now, three hundred and fifty six years later, mankind spread out across Wasteland, forming small towns and trading ports wherever water could be found. However, now the metaphorical jackpot has been found. Out in the harsh wastes, a gigantic underground reservoir , along with large deposits of minerals, has been discovered. With such resources, the largest city yet on Wasteland can be constructed. The only problem is that the only city with the resources to at least begin settlement, the city of Gemini, is approximately 5000 miles from the area. Billionaire philanthropist, Michael Anderson, has put together an expedition in order to travel to and settle the area.

This is the story of that expedition.

Ok, some quick information before we get underway. Basically, this is about a caravan travelling across an unhospitable desert planet. Picture a cross between Oregon Trail and Trigun. For the level of technology, for the most part, the caravan will be made up of carts made from scrap metal, pulled by large quadrupeds native to Wasteland known as Tolsons. While there are some examples of higher technology, such as cybernetics and engines, such examples are very rare. Again, look at Trigun for a very good example of the level of technology Wasteland has.
