So, Nintendo just broadcasted the latest Nintendo Direct a few hours ago and it was packed with good info.

First, there will be a Zelda-themed gold 3DS XL for the launch of Link Between Worlds. And speaking of LBW, it will feature StreetPass allowing you to battle shadow Links for rupees.

YouTube is finally coming to the 3DS, but no word on if it will support the system's stereoscopic 3D for YouTube 3D vidoes. If it doesn't that would be a huge missed opportunity. Also, with the ability to take 3D videos with the 3DS, it would be nice if we could upload those straight to YouTube using the app. The WiiU's YouTube app will also be getting an update to match the interface of the 3DS app.

The much-anticipated update to the 3DS (which was first hinted at before the Wii U even came out!) is finally set to be released. It'll allow you to connect your 3DS to your Nintendo Network ID to share funds between the 3DS and Wii U. Some reports are even saying you'll be able to make cross-system purchases. All I can say is it's about freaking time. Now all we need is a way to purchase games directly from another device like a computer or smartphone without needing to scan a QR code with the 3DS, and it'll be perfect. Oh, and it goes without saying, but there needs to be a way to log into your account on another Wii U or 3DS and bring all your purchases with you. It's also confirmed that Miiverse will come to 3DS. You'll be able to browse Miiverse, but no word yet on if it will be integrated into future 3DS games.

Finally, some new news for Super Mario 3D World. It'll feature some new special levels, like a golden train filled with coins, levels based on vertical scrolling shooters (and even includes double cherries for some Glaga-inspired action) and Mario Kart-inspired racing levels. It also includes an unlockable game called Luigi Bros, which is just a Mario Bros clone featuring two versions of Luigi. Also, it can be unlocked automatically if you have Super Luigi U. And last but not least, the long-awaited 5th playable character has been unveiled. Rosalina! She'll be sporting the spin move from the Galaxy games. So, yeah, I'm now more excited for 3D World than I was before.
