    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

Okay, here we go! Check out the sign-up thread for available spots.

    Pokemon: Crystal Storm

Centuries ago, there was a war between the regions of Kanto and Johto. The warriors pushed their Pokemon to do anything possible to win, even shed innocent blood. In turn, the Pokemon became evil and turned against their trainers. To stop the madness, Pokemon with pure blood came together and poured their power and soul into Crystals. Each Crystal represented an element or elements. These Crystals were given to humans of pure blood, called the Aurora Knights, to protect their own kind and defeat the evil Pokemon. Their evil spirits could not rest, so they promised that they would once again bring the world chaos one way or another. But the power came with a price: these humans were doomed to spend their lives as half-Pokemon. Their half-Pokemon blood was carried on through later generations, although it wasn’t noticed.

The powerful Crystals, now called Aurora Crystals, were sealed in a protective underground chamber and guarded by the descendents of the Aurora Spirits, the souls that are contained in the Aurora Crystal. So was a giant egg (yes, egg) containing the Dark Phoenix, a dark-type legendary bird that was made of the evil souls of the Pokemon from the war. The guardians foretold a day when the chamber would open. If anyone was to open the chamber, the egg would hatch and release the phoenix once again. But there is a good side: the Aurora Knight descendents would gather together that day. Each of the Aurora Crystals would split into two, one half for the Aurora Knight descendent and the other half for the Pokemon guardians. These beings must defeat the Dark Phoenix and stop him from destroying all life.

You’re one of the Aurora Knight descendents, on a staying at an archaeology site where they’re about the open the chamber. You were promised pay if you would chase away/defeat/capture the “meddling Pokemon” that are causing trouble for the excavators. These Pokemon are the guardians. The chamber is opened one night, and everything immediately goes south from there. The Dark Phoenix is released and wreaks havoc in the site before taking off in the night. The Aurora Crystals are also released and embed themselves in the skin of the new Knights and their guardians. Oh, did I mention you can understand Pokemon now? And that you turn into a half Pokemon?

I'll get my post up later!

    Imani – Shock Crystal

“Thank you for coming. I thought these Pokemon were going to drive my team insane,” Prof. Fossil told the group of trainers who had congregated in the oversized tent. I was listening to my Walkman on low volume.

A girl standing next to me rolled her eyes. “These Pokemon can’t be that strong. It’s not like they’re a bunch of legendaries.”

“No, but they’re surprisingly intelligent. You should try to find them before they strike again.” The group exited and split up. I decided to follow Masashi.

I turned off my Walkman. “Tell me again why we decided to take on this job,” I said.

“Good pay, new Pokemon, a chance to get out of the house, take your pick. What happened? You were gung-ho about this yesterday!”

“Until I heard about the news!”

    “What news?”

I dug around for Tiger’s pokeball. “I heard stories that a big war was fought here. Something big happened at this very place.”

“Yeah, this is why they want to check out the chamber.”

“Why do you think the Pokemon want us to stay away from this place so much?” I let Tiger out so she can help us sniff out the intruders.

“I’m thinking it’s because we’re in their home.”

“Since when did Charizard live in the middle of the woods?” I grabbed him by the shoulders. “There’s something wrong here. I…want…out.”

“What makes you think there’s something wrong here?” Masashi groaned.

“Ever watch The Mummy?” He shook his head. “Thought so. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. I'll stay, though. Someone has to make sure someone doesn't turn you into dust."

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Yay! First one to post; well, besides classy_cat... ^^;

    Name: Ashley Carmen
    Gender: Female
    Age: 16
Location: Ashley has been on a pokemon journey against her parents' wills for about a year now, but after staying in Violet City for a while, she's on the road again...
Personality: Ashley is what some would call reckless. She often does things without thinking, and ends up paying for it too... She ran off from home when she got her first pokemon even though her parents didn't want her to. She seems to fear nothing, and want everything. Adventure is something she absolutely craves, and thus never passes up an oppurtunity to have some fun. Most situations that others would deem 'dangerous', she simply thinks of as exciting and fun. This makes a lot of people annoyed and angry at her, but she doesn't really care. Or so it seems... And if you haven't already guessed it, she's a very outgoing person; but if she doesn't like you, she won't bother with you. But unless you make it overly obvious that you don't like her, she'll still talk to you.
Before Appearance: She has super short light brown hair with navy blue highlights, and dark blue eyes. She usually wears a sleevless blue shirt and black pants of some kind. She wears a dark gray hat backwards on her head (she thinks it's cool, and doesn't care who doesn't).
    Crystal: Terra Crystal! ^.^
Hybrid Appearance: She is a hybrid of a Tyranitar! She gains a large, thick, forest green tail with spikes at the end; and spikes of the same color down her back and on her head (you know, like a Tyranitar!). Her eyes become a fearless red color, and she grows two fangs in her top front teeth. She also has a large blue-gray armor plate on her stomach to protect her from attacks. The three spikes at the very top of her head aren't the same green color, but are light brown, and the tips a navy blue color (like her hair). She's not very attractive, but that's not where her priorities are, so she's all good with it.
Attacks: Sandstorm, Rock Slide, Thrash, and Earthquake, and Scary Face.
Pokemon Owned: Wartortle (Male), Loudred (Female), and Seviper (Male).
    Relations: Open! ^^
Other: She likes the color blue, but not her guardian. She can't stand the pint-sized Totodile... which brings me to...

    Guardian:
    Name: Chaco (pronounced "Chah-ko")
    Species: Totodile
    Gender: Male
Personality: He may be small, but he's as powerful as the rest. Or so he claims... Hyper, cute, and always alert; he often annoys the crud out of Ashley. Whenever she gets mad at him, he'll just brush it off, or say something completely out of context. However, when things need to be done, he's always willing to do them. And you shouldn't let his size or unevolved look fool you-- he's certainly worthy of being a Guardian.
Appearance: Just a regular Totodile, but he carries a shoulder bag with him. It's tan-colored, and he holds any useful (well, what he considers useful) items in it.
    Crystal: Aqua Crystal
Attacks: Hydro Pump, Mud Sport, Bite, Surf.
    Other: He's a bit of a braggart.

    -----------------
    Ashley/Terra Crystal
    -----------------

I scoffed as I walked into the place the small group of us had been told to go to.

Scientists couldn't take care of these pokemon, so they called a bunch of kids in to deal with them?

I brushed my hair back with my hand as the Professor addressed us, "Thank you for coming. I thought these Pokemon were going to drive my team insane..."

A girl between another girl and I rolled her eyes, "These Pokemon can't be that strong. It's not like they're a bunch of legendaries."

Hey, I thought to myself, I was gonna say that...

"No," said the Professor, "but they're surprisingly intelligent. You should try to find them before they strike again."

I nodded. THis was just getting better and better. At first I thought this would just be some good exercise for my pokemon, but now I saw another oppurtunity.

"Good, a challange!" I said, excited to get going. I was hoping to possibly add one of these intellegent pokemon to my team. Maybe a large pokemon like a Charizard, or a Tyranitar...

I jumped up. "So, when do we start?! Come on, enough talk, let's get going! I want to find out exactly how 'intellegent' these pokemon really are."

"You can start now," said the Professor, beginning to walk away. Apparently he had other stuff to do.

The small group of us all split up. I went off on my own quickly. There was no way I was going to let the others get to the big pokemon first.

I paused as a fork in the tunnel came. Turning to the left, I walked briskly down the darkened corridor. I grabbed Wartortle's pokeball and released him.

A flash of white light and soon Wartortle appeared before me.

    "War?" he said looking around.

"Nope, no war this time, just a creepy archaeological site, and smart pokemon to catch!" I said to him, my eyes glowing.

"Tortle..." said Wartortle shaking his head. He could never understand what I saw in adventures; he would have had rather been in a city with no mummies or anything... But he didn't let it didn't bother him too much; the bond between he and I had grown so much over time that nothing could split us apart.

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Name: Willow Sanders
    Gender: Female
    Age: 16
    Location: Olivine City
Personality: She's shy and quiet at first but will open up once she trusts you. It takes a lot for her to turst someone fully. She's more of a tag a long rather than a loner. She's artistic and always has a sketch pad full of pokemon sketches. She is, however, a very confident battler because she has that trust in her pokemon. She swims a lot (living right next to the beach) and loves being outside.
Before Appearance: Very deep blue eyes. Layered brown hair down to her sholders. She's 5'7'', very tanned and has the build of a strong swimmer. She wears jeans, plain coloured t-shirts, black slip on trainers and a white jacket, which is normally tied around her waise.
    Crystal: Glacier
Hybrid Appearance: Tail, claws and ears of a Sneasel. Her hair and skin is dark blue and her eyes go an ice blue. Other than that...
Attacks: Ice Beam, Blizzard, Aurora Beam, Slash
Pokemon Owned: Dragonair, Charmander, Flaaffy, Ditto and Girafarig.
    Relations: Open
Other: Picture on it's way ^^

    Name: Choriko
    Species: Bayleef
    Gender: Female
Personality: Happy, fun and lovable sums up Choriko in 3 words. She's loyal and full of random facts. Her bubbly-ness annoys Willow's Dragonair but the rest seem to love her.
Appearance (if different from normal): Bright blue eyes instead of red.
    Crystal: Flora
Attacks: Razor leaf, Vine whip (in the anime Bayleef knows it), Synthesis and body slam.
    Other:

    ~~Willow/Glacier crystal~~
"Thank you for coming. I thought these Pokemon were going to drive my team insane," Prof. Fossil who had managed to pack a bunch of eager trainers into one tent.
"These Pokemon can’t be that strong. It’s not like they’re a bunch of legendaries." Said some sarcastic girl from near the back.
Legendaries aren't all that strong... Not as strong as some people's trained pokemon...
"No, but they’re surprisingly intelligent. You should try to find them before they strike again."
The group split up. Most of the people seemed to be from around here. I knew i couldn't of been the farthest away, though. By the looks of things there were even some kanto trainers around...
I wandered down the tunnel. Catching a big pokemon would be nice but getting a good sketch of one would be better.
I got to a fork in the tunnel and watched another trainer release a Wartortle and went down the left fork.
"No way am i gonna follow someone..." I muttered, making my way down the right fork.
It grew darker and colder. I took two pokeballs from my bag and threw them.
"Char!" Said Charmander as she did a little Totodile-like dance.
    "Flaaaa!"
"Okay, you two, lets catch a pokemon!" Suddenly changing my goal for tonight. After all, it was too dark to sketch anything...
We carried on walking. The light from Charmander's tail flickered; she was blowing it...
A Bayleef charged along the tunnel, knocking Flaaffy over and hid behind me. It shook.
I recalled Flaaffy, he had been badly hurt by the blow. Some guy in his twenties came running along.
"Hey! I saw that Bayleef first! It belongs to me now!" He yelled.
    "You wish! Charmander, flamethrower!"
"Houndoom, ignore the little lizard, get the Bayleef!"
Charmander, totally ignoring me, slashed at the dog. Houndoom decided to take a bite out of her arm. Charmander screemed, picked up the nearest rock and used rock smash. Houndoom looked dazed for a second and let go, giving Charmander the chance to use iron tail.
"Good work." I recalled Charmander, "Dragonair, go!"
"Okay! I give up!" Yelled the guy, recalling his Houndoom and running off.
I turned to where Bayleef should of been standing. In it's place was a pokeball. "Looks like we've got a Bayleef on our side!" I said to Dragonair.

    We are allowed to catch our guardian, right? ^^;

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Ara ara~
Hope it's all right if my chara meets his guardian in the first post~

    Name: Deuse (Asmodeus) Thespian
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16
Location: He's not entirely too certain, but his pokemon are convinced he was left as a baby in the crowded slum streets of Tamamushi (Celadon) where he grew up and that his parents were mafia. (okay, maybe not that last part.) He drifts from place to place in search of a regular job.
Personality: He has a highly defined sense of justice, and he'd like to help people if they deserved help, but he can't even help himself. On his good days, he's merely mildly depressed and cynical, trying to keep his temper in check. On the bad days he'll kick you in the shins and then yell at you for being clumsy and stumbling in people's way. With that said, he's actually a nice guy who doesn't like being one, in his own way. He's just... very, very tired. Of life, and the things it does to him, in general.
Before Appearance: He's about 5'11". Has a permanent washed-out, underfed look to him; wirey build, and has a very definite tan; if he were to take off his shirt you would be able to see tan marks stopping around his collarbone and elbows from wearing the same clothes for long periods. He has unkempt dark-brown hair that needs a trim, and greenish-brown eyes. He wears a rumpled shirt that's a grubby grey shade with the sleeves rolled up to the elbow and dust-coloured trousers; they both look very worn at the edges. For footwear, he wears boots; the kind with thin soles.
    Crystal: Plain Crystal
Hybrid Appearance: I kind of like to be sadistic to my characters (<----- >_>; so.. EEVEE HYBRID!!!! He gets the Eevee ears, the sharp canines, the tail and *cough* a lot of pale fur around his neck area, though not a full ruff.
Attacks: Bite, Take Down, Sand Attack, Headbutt
Pokemon Owned: Female Guraina/Mightyena [Ishtar], male Jolteon [Piero], male Rapidash [Faust]
    Relations: Blah...
Other: Can streetfight in a pinch.

    Name: Ezra
    Species: Persian
    Gender: Male
Personality: Snarky, sarcastic, and, more often than not, enjoys watching people dither around while he's already figured a problem out. He's highly intelligent, and does not mind showing it off. He's very good at bargaining, arguing and suchlike. Thinks there are no really 'good' or 'evil' sides in this world; just many people with different opinions.
Appearance (if different from normal): His eyes are a piercing blue, and he's extraordinarily thin.
    Crystal: Plain Crystal
Attacks: Slash, Bite, Pay Day, Faint Attack
Other: He could be a vampire. Could be. Only there aren't any vampires in the pokemon world so... he's just an ordinary, extra-freaky Persian.
    ----------------
    Deuse Thespian.|M|Plain Crystal
    --------------------

Deuse began pinching the bridge of his nose, a long-time habit, almost as soon as he heard the words 'drive my team insane'. These words did not bode well. In fact, it probably meant that it would also drive Deuse insane, and he was going to have the equivalent of a severe migraine doing the tracking alone; having lived all the while in the odd city or township with absolutely no liking for the dust and debris of an excavation site didn't help much, either. It'd be impossible.

"You should try to find them before they strike again.” And the guy was gone, just like that.

No money, no place to spend the night and no food can be a very great incentive for the impossible to become possible, however. Deuse groaned inwardly and resigned himself to his fate. He pushed off into a small side cave that none of the others seemed to have seen, released his extremely nervous Jolteon on the basis that it was much quicker than the Mightyena at sensing presences and was immediately hit with the most accusing stare he had ever seen in his life.

It said: YOU HAVEN'T FED US.

"Yes, yes, I know. Find one of those extraordinary pokemon I've heard so much about and then I'll feed you."

However, as soon as Piero the Jolteon had ascertained that they were very definitely in the gob smack middle of the excavation site, of which there was said to be a legend concerning a great war, of which fact his trainer seemed to be gloomily unaware of, he tensed, spikes standing right out, and ran to the entrance of the cave, yelping urgently.

Deuse raised a noncommital eyebrow. This happened often. Piero was afraid of most things ranging from angry Rattatas to intimidating trainers.

He dropped it when, a moment later, Piero rushed back to him and began drawing letters in the sand with a shivering paw. Wow, my Jolteon can write. That is, only in times of great stress and fright. Sheesh. He drew them haltingly and ineptly, to be truthful, but Deuse was pretty sure he could read, in Piero's script that looked very much like deformed two-dimensional Annon:

"W-A-R," he said, pinching his nose again. This was so not his day; the other trainers had probably found all the pokemon by now, and his tracker was wasting time showing off his calligraphy. "So? I'm looking for a pokemon. Not a war."

Piero panicked even harder as his stare focused on something behind Deuse's head, and started scribbling another word on the ground. It looked like:

    "S-C-A-R-Y - whatever, Piero, I know you're hungry but-"

The shadow sprung. And dug its claws into Deuse's shoulder.

This was too much, even for Deuse. He was not accustomed to shadows leaping onto his shoulder and happily making him bleed without so much as a by-your-leave. Well, he was used to people grabbign him and beating him up for no reason, but shadows, well, they weren't substantial, were they, and especially not shadows with long claws-

    "AAAAARGGHHHHH!!!!!"

A Persian dropped down to the cave floor and cat-smiled at Deuse with its ethereal blue eyes in a vampiric way. Piero had presumably turned to a sort of quivering, spikey yellow and white jelly that was even now clutching Deuse's left leg as if hanging on for dear life.

Deuse glowered back at it. "I hate cats... especially you."

PokemonLuver and EFC: Yeah, it's okay.

    Imani -- Shock Crystal

We navigated through the torch-lit chambers, our eyes peeled for any signs of smart Pokemon. Although the idea of getting a rare Pokemon sounded nice, it didn't shake the feeling I had. Tiger looked like she had the same feeling. She suddenly stopped and started to whimper.

"What's the matter, girl?" I asked her, stroking her back. Tiger gave a frightened howl and retreated to her pokeball. One thing that Tiger rarely does is get scared. We looked down the hall and found a sealed stone door. "Is that the chamber that they're trying to open?" I asked Masashi.

He nodded. "We should turn around and go the other way."

I stood there for a moment and saw an Ampharos emerge from a passageway. It walked up to us and started to write in the dirt. "E-V-I-L. Hmm, evil. What's evil?" The Ampharos sparked and sent a warning shot straight up, destroying some of the ceiling. The walls and ceiling came tumbling down, blocking the way to the chamber. I felt the feeling grow stronger. "You're right. Let's go somewhere else and see how the others are doing."

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    SIGN-UP

    Name: Kayla Kaze
    Gender: Female
    Age: 17
    Location: Violet City. Wanderer.
Personality: She's normally aloof to a lot of things. She can seem cold, but she isn't really. She just accidently ignores people. She's got one of those "I'll do what I feel like, if I wanna know I'll ask you" personalities. She can be very kind and caring, but tries not to invole herself with other people that much. She's a drifter, and it reflects in the way she acts. Her first reaction to a challenge is to decline and stay out of it. She can hold her own in fist-to-fist, but dislikes fighting in general. Slow to anger. She only took the job at the site because she's been low on money recently.
Before Appearance: Straight white hair that goes down to her shoulders, a bit messy-style. She has clear blue eyes. 6'1, with a slender figure. She wears a loose white tank top, and a blue t-shirt underneath it. Both are slightly dirty from her travels, but she keeps them in quite good shape. Wears a really beat-up pair of jeans, with worn sneakers that have a lot of dirt on them. She carries around what little she owns in a light-violet backpack; which is pretty much a bit of money, a few 'certain items', and food for her and her Pokemon.
    Crystal: Aero Crystal
Hybrid Appearance: *bows* Arigato! Ok, Lugia. Her arms and hands turn white and morph into wings. Three black stripes appear on her back, but they're usually hidden by her shirt. She sprouts a short white tail, and her ears become triangular-shaped and dark blue (like the thing around Lugia's eyes)
Attacks: Fly, Aerial Ace, Aeroblast, and Confusion
Pokemon Owned: Female Ninetales, male Lapras
    Relations: Open-ish
Other: *whistles* *stabs when everyone's looking away* *points at Ninetales*

Name: Kaze no Koio (I think that's what it is... "Voice of the wind"?)
    Species: Pidgeot
    Gender: Male
Personality: He's quite caring towards others, be they people or Pokemon. He knows when to be quite, and often is so; when around Kayla it's usually best to just be quiet. He's quick to anger if there's something unfair going on against a weaker being, and has a well-fixed set of right and wrong.
Appearance: The feathers on his head change color to reflect the weather: the inner feathers show what it is right now and the outer feathers show what it will be soon.
    Crystal: Aero Crystal
Attacks: Fly, Wing Attack, Mirror Move, Aerial Ace
Other: *pecks at other* *pushes Ninetales towards other* *flies away as Ninetales snaps at him*

"Thank you for coming. I thought these Pokemon were going to drive my team insane." Then that's their problem I thought to myself as I stood near the back of the tent. Pokemon were Pokemon, and if they wanted you out you had to deal with it. I only took this job because I was hungry.

"These Pokemon can’t be that strong. It’s not like they’re a bunch of legendaries." "No, but they’re surprisingly intelligent. You should try to find them before they strike again."

That would make it interesting, to say the very least. I wonder what would've happened if they were. A lot more trainers would probably be standing here.

The group moved towards the opening in the tent, and I moved out before I got run over. The sooner I got paid for this, the better. I wanted to get moving, I had stayed in this place a bit too long for my tastes.

I walked down a nearby tunnel, and released Ninetales. She yawned, stretched, and looked at me expectantly. "Sorry. Food rationing. No more until dinner."

She whined softly, then turned around and started walking. I followed, keeping close for the heat that Ninetales generated. These tunnels could go on for a long time, and if we were seperated, there's no telling whether we'd meet up again.

I lost track of time as we wandered. On the way there was the occasional Geodude, but no Pokemon I'd ever consider a real "threat". Just as I wondered whether we'd all been cheated to go wandering in a cave and get ourselves lost, the groung shook. Ninetales yelped and croutched down, very low. I had never seen her scared, or even startled badly. Something was wrong here. Very wrong...

Suddenly a gust of wind shot down the corridor. I was blown back a few feet by the sheer force of it. When I recovered, I saw why Ninetales had grounded herself; she had barely slid. Slowly, she stood up and walked a few feet, then instantly croutched down. I ran to her and grabbed the back of her neck, clinging as an even fiercer gust blew at us. What came next was something I'd have expected if I was wondering what the heck a wind tunnel was doing at an excavation site: a Pidgeot flew, surprisingly well, through the cave and straight at us. I dodged out of the way, managing to remain unharmed save a cut on my cheek. Ninetales had gotten away easily, and was preparing a Flamethrower for when, and if, the Pidgeot came back.

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    ~~Willow~~
Dragonair suddenly stopped and wrapped himself around me. He shivered alot. I sighed, "There's nothing to be-"
I stopped midsentance. A cool breeze blew playfully around us. There was something odd and chilling about this place. Dragonair put himself back in his pokeball. I laughed nervously.
I found Girafarig's pokeball and threw it. It bounced and started rolling. I ran to pick it up. "Guess you don't like this either..." I muttered, putting it back in my bag.
I continued down the dimly lit tunnel by myself. I reached an odd stone door with a few markings. I recognised them. Unowns. I took my mini sketchbook from my pocket and began drawing the markings.
There was a flash, then the whole cave shook. Bayleef popped out her pokeball and started writing something in the dirt with her vines.
"G-E-T... Get what? O-U-T... Get out? Why?" I questioned.
"Bay!" She cried, pointing into the gloom.
I looked. There was a bunch of angry looking pokemon behind me. "Okay... I see your point... Don't worry, i'm not gonna go anywhere near that door thing... I'll just be leaving now..."
Bayleef got infront of me and walked toward the pokemon. They parted to let her through. I decided to follow. I grabbed my stuff and hurried after her, affraid of being attacked.

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    ------------------
    Ashley/Terra Crystal
    ------------------

As Wartortle and I walked further into the tunnel, several noises could be heard throughout the cave. I frowned.

"Oh... listen to that Wartortle! People are battling strong pokemon! And I'm not! This tunnel we're in is so gloomy, we've just got to find a powerful pokemon at the end of it!" I whined as Wartortle nodded.

Suddenly our tunnel was taking a turn, and was getting closer to the battle noises.

"Oh great... now I get to be teased by seeing everyone else pokemon battling..." I whined again.

Wartortle rolled his eyes. He always found my whining amusing, and this time was no exception. But after his tiny moment of amusement, his face turned very grave. He gave a shiver, and suddenly grabbed my leg.

"Whaa!" I yelled, a bit off-balance because of his abruptness, "What are you doin' Wartortle?! You could've knocked me down!"

    "War..." he said, whimpering.

I blinked. I had never heard him whimper...

"What's wrong? Is it a strong pokemon!? Come on, what's up?!" I said to him, but all he would do is stare down the tunnel in fear.

    "Totodile!"

I looked up. "Huh?" I said, looking a few feet away from us. There in the tunnel stood a tiny Totodile. On his side was a brown colored bag. I sighed.

"Geez Wartortle, it's just a little Totodile..." I comtemplated catching it, "And it's really not worth my trouble."

The Totodile fell over. "Toto toto di!!" he yelled at me.

I raised an eyebrow, "Uh... whatever."

Wartortle was still shaking, his gaze not looking at the Totodile, but rather the tunnel ahead.

"Look," I said, taking note of Wartortle's fear, "Why don'tcha go back to your mommy or whatever, because this is no place for a tiny pokemon. Wartortle, let's go see what's freaking you out."

The two of us walked off down the tunnel, the small Totodile following close behind.

I peered behind me. "Dude! Stop following us! I don't want you!" I said bluntly. This friendship had to stop now.

He kept coming. So I ignored him.

The closer the three of us got to the battle sounds, the quicker we all realized that there was more to this place than just digging up pots and stuff.

I came into a room with what appeared to be a ton of debris that had recently fallen. There were two of the other kids in the room with me, and the girl spoke to the boy.

"You're right. Let's go somewhere else and see how the others are doing," she said.

I felt a tug at my other leg. I looked down.

"Toto toto!" said the blue speck, shaking its head with a frown on his face.

I frowned as well, but for a different reason, "Get off of me! And I'm not really concerned with danger if that's what you're warning me about. I live for things like this."

I walked up to the two other kids.

"What's going on? What happened? Did you guys see a rare pokemon?!" I said, wanting to know what kinds of pokemon I should expect to see.

Totodile still looked a bit angry.

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Name: Caleb Marsh
    Gender: male
    Age: 17
Location: born in Lavender Town, grew up there. Has been travelling to become a pokemon master (and eventually a gymn leader) since he was 11, though.
Personality: He spent the majority of his life being bullied so he is a little withdrawn. He keeps to himself a lot and has trouble trusting people. He's always ready for a pokemon battle but it is the only area of his being he expresses any confidence with. Very timid and reserved. At least, that's how he was/is before learning the extent of his newfound abilities. He is likely to have a drastic change of personality once things get in gear.
Before Appearance: 6'1", long and straight jet black hair tied back tight, reddish-brown eyes that almost seem blood red in the dark, not toothpick thin but a little on the scrawny side, pale skin but not abnormally so, wears mostly black clothing (most often a pair of black jeans, a dark grey t and a thin black leather jacket), also wears a black bandanna with a skull and crossbones on it tied tightly over his slicked back long hair
    Crystal: Shadow
Hybrid Appearance: Half-gengar: his skin color became dark and bluish in color(think dark elf from Everquest/Morrowind), his fingers and toes thinned to almost bone width and became sharp and pointed and very claw-like (no more nails either), his build has filled out to be quite athletic, his hair is now spiked all the way back but it is still pitch black (picture SSJ3 Goku only with black hair), his eyes are no longer visible as they constantly emit a trailing dark purple glow (picture one of those guys in anime with flaming eyes), his ears stick out and up slightly in sharp points (similar to gengars but not as prominent), also grew fangson both his upper and lower teeth (short for fangs but very sharp and still very menacing)
Attacks: Shadow Punch, Shadow Ball, Psychic, Bite, Agility
Pokemon Owned: female charizard(Kira), male gyarados(Poseidon), male absol(Cutter), female sableye(Jewel)
    Relations: none
    Other:

    Name: Palin
    Species: Gengar
    Gender: male
Personality: straitforward, doesn't think before he speaks, is not sensitive to those around him, doesn't wish to harm innocents but he will do whatever it takes to stop the Dark Phoenix
Appearance (if different from normal): an ice blue mark of a quarter moon is on the back of his left shoulder, otherwise he just looks like a normal adult gengar(though slightly larger than average)
    Crystal: Shadow
Attacks: Shadowball, Psychic, Night Shade, Crunch
    Other:

    Caleb Marsh
    -------------------------------------

Caleb looked about the dark cave carefully. Even the bright flame from Kira's tail seemed dim. It was as if something was sucking all the light out of this place.
"Steady Kira," Caleb said warmly, sensing his charizard's unease.
They had been down here for a good thirty minutes with no sign of any pokemon. Caleb hadn't waited for their meeting to start exploring. He would have felt too uncomfortable in that tent full of trainers. Instead he had gone ahead into the ruins while the others had been gathering. So far it had been creepy but uneventful.
    "Char charizard," Kira grunted nervously.
Her tail flame was shining as brightly as it could yet the cave seemed to get darker and darker the further in they went. There was something terribly unsettling about this whole place.
"You're right. Let's go somewhere else and see how the others are doing," a voice echoed faintly from somewhere ahead in the distance.
He quickened his pace and Kira reluctantly matched him. Something ahead made her very uncomfortable. After a minute Caleb found himself almost breaking into a run with anticipation. He was getting very scared but at the same time he was compelled to continue on. It felt like there was something ahead he was meant to find.
He kept running for almost a couple of minutes, Kira trailing closely behind him. He would've kept running but he barely managed to stop himself short as a giant door sprang into view from the shadows. He came within a foot of slamming right into it.
As Kira caught back up he took a moment to survey his surroundings. He had found a huge ornate door. It was very old looking and had numerous markings he couldn't understand. A lot of them looked familiar to him for some reason but he couldn't make any of it out.
Looking around further he found what looked like a cave in. A recent one too at that. It didn't completely block off the path but it looked unstable enough for him not to want to try and pass it. He was also quite sure he didn't want to go back the way they had come. That left only one visible exit; the door.
Just as this thought came to him Kira swooped in and grabbed him, pulling him away from the cave in. A huge ball of purple energy flew past where he had just been standing and slammed into the rubble of the cave in. a huge explosion resulted, clearing most of the rubble away.
"What the?" Caleb asked dumbfounded as he spun his head around.
He found himself looking at the shadowed outline of what he thought must be a gengar. Judging from the power of that shadowball he surmised that this must be one of those pokemon all the trainers had been brought in to catch or lead away.
    "Kira, down," Caleb commanded.
Kira hesitated for a moment but eventually set him down. She stood beside him, staring nervously at the outline of gengar. They waited for a moment for gengar to act but Caleb decided it was waiting for them to strike first.
"Alright then.....Kira, flamethrower," Caleb shouted and a long jet of flame burst towards the outline of gengar.
Suddenly the outline disappeared and the jet of flame collided with the door. It didn't seem to hurt the door at all. They spun about wildly, looking for where the gengar had gone. Their question was answered as another shadowball sailed in from the right. Kira took the blast full on, knocking her to the ground.
"Kira return. Go Cutter!" Caleb shouted as he recalled Kira and sent forth his absol. "Futuresight!"
Cutter lowered its body to the ground, like it was preparing to pounce. It closed its eyes and started to glow ldimly in the dark cave. The gengar took the pause as an invitation to strike. It lifted Cutter into the air with its mind and flung him against the cave wall using psychic.
Cutter was obviously hurt by the attack but he was still concentrating. Suddenly, a burst of wind shot through the cave and beam of bright orange light emerged from where Cutter had been crouched. It shot forward and slammed into the gengar hard. By now Cutter was up and charging towards the gengar for a bite attack. The gengar had just enough time to react and phased through the cave wall to escape the blow. Cutter stopped just short of the wall. It suddenly leapt back as another shadowball phased right through the wall. It nearly hit him but Cutter was just fast enough.
This gengar was proving to be extremely clever. It's attacks were more powerful than any Caleb had seen used by a ghost pokemon, too. It was clear that it was not a normal pokemon at all. Something about it and this whole place was definately wrong. And the more wrong it felt the more scared Caleb got and the more certain he was that he was meant to find something here.
As his thoughts raced the gengar re-emerged, seemingly unscathed from Cutters futuresight attack. It puffed a low sigh to show it might be getting a little tired but it appeared strong and ready to continue. Cutter let out a low growl and lowered itself, trying to get ready for whatever this gengar was going to do next.

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    ~~Willow~~
I continued to follow Bayleef. She seemed to know where she was going. We came to another fork in the tunnel, she took the left one.
"You know your way around here better than me... Guess i have to trust you about that..."
Although she had told me to get out, she seemed to be leading me further into the cave. There was a strong wind and an outline of a Gengar flew backward. It totally ignored us and went back the way it came, as if it was going back to attack.
Bayleef began to run, following the Gengar along the dim tunnel. I sighed and followed, wondering what could be so important.
We finally stopped, facing another trainer and his Absol. Bayleef put herself back in her pokéball.
"Oh, so it's your Gengar. Why are you attacking me?" Asked the trainer.
"Me? That's not my Gengar!" I replied, automaticly taking Girafarig's pokeball and releasing her.
The Gengar turned around to face me. Aparantly, it hadn't noticed me before. Girafarig took Ditto's pokéball and released it.
"Okay... As you're out, Ditto, use transform. Not into Gengar, but Absol."
Ditto transformed. Gengar watched it carefully. Girafarig and I ran over to the other trainer and Ditto soon followed. "I'm Willow." I said, quickly introducing myself.
    He hesitated, "Caleb."

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Deuse Thespian|M|Plain Crystal
    Ezra|M|Plain Crystal|Guardian
"No, no, I really hate cats, I mean like really really."
    ----------------

The Persian continued to smirk as Deuse patched up the four long wounds on his right shoulderblade with a bit of his shirt. It didn't seem particularly inclined to injure him further, but it was beginning to unnerve him, the way it just seemed to suggest that there was no being in the multiverse quite so smart as it was, nor anyone quite so well-informed as it was, and that Deuse was a pillock not worthy of its time. Piero grovelled for a while in the general area of Deuse's ankles before slinking into the nearest corner to shiver.

The thin cat waited until it had totally discomfited Deuse and his jolteon to the maximum extent, and then smoothed out a few lines on the ground in immaculate copperplate script:

Greetings, human. You ARE very stupid, bringing an Electric pokemon into a cave. I would suggest that you run for your life.

And then, before Deuse's eyes had even left the last few letters, it unsheathed its claws and sank them into the ground all around Deuse and Piero, repeating the action and darting around the cave. Piero, acting on some inner survival instinct, jumped onto his trainer and hung tight. Deuse, possibly by means of the same innate survival instinct, started running, just before the first few enraged Digletts poked their heads out of their holes and commenced numerous Force 10 Earthquakes.

At first there were only a few adult Digletts; then there were more, including Dugtrio and entire clans of younger Digletts. Apparently, Digletts were extremely family pokemon. Deuse caught a glimpse of the disappearing cream-furred tail of the homicidal Persian and ran after it, dodging the occasional falling stalactite, lugging along his weakened Jolteon and uttering several expletives best not to be repeated here.

Needless to say, the cave collapsed.

By this time, however, Deuse had followed the Persian down a long side-tunnel into an entirely different part of the caves, and he was aware that he was now hopelessly lost and his only hope, if it could be called that, was to continue following the most sadistic living thing he had ever met. Piero whimpered pathetically as they scattered a flock of Zubats and affected an injured pose.

"Oh hell, Piero, you useless piece of arse," he growled, and, running all the while, returned him while releasing Ishtar. At least Dark pokemon could see well in caves, and Ishtar was a sight more sensible than Piero. He grabbed hold of her tail. "Ishtar! Follow that Persian, okay?"

After the corridors had been going on for a long while, and Deuse was positively sick of stumbling over the odd Geodude and seeing the two blue eyes in the distance turn back occasionally and narrow in a satisfied manner, they finally reached another open space.

Shortly after which a long shot of flame nearly incinerated Deuse and Ishtar. Ishtar tensed up, eyes glowing red, ready to spring upon their attacker, when a girl he'd last seen in the professor's tent and a rattled-looking Ninetales appeared in his line of vision. She had white hair and was probably taller than he was.

Deuse had gone over the deep end of his anger by now, and was sculling somewhere in the boiling sea of fairly calm fury beyond it. "What the hell was that for?!" Then he remembered the cat, and his manners. "Sorry to intrude on your little hunting expedition, but did you see an evil-looking Persian, definitely some twisted kind of vampire, has blue eyes and about this size?"

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Name: Kaia Harrington
    Gender: Female
    Age: 16
Location: She was born and raised in Mahogany Town by her parents, noted breeders and her grandfather, Pryce. She's a Pokemon trainer by nature and wanted to take over her grandfather's spot when he retired, despite her lack of ice Pokemon usage
Personality: She's a loner but quite determined. She likes to take control of things and be the leader if she's the oldest of the group or actually know what she's doing. She's well known for her quick temper, which is why she's suited for the Flame Crystal more than anything. She can get ahold of herself before she does anything drastic however
Before Appearance: Small for her age, 5'1. Her physique is slightly tanned and thin but strong, if you look closely enough. Her hair is a rough milk chocolate and it hangs down to her chin and curled in. Her eyes are a steely blue/gray and it's bad news if you stare into them when she's angry. She dresses simply - solid blue t-shirt, khaki pants and New Balance sneakers
    Crystal: Flame Crystal
Hybrid Appearance: She grows to about 5'7 and gains the Charizard tail and wings, as well as the strength. Her nails grow long and sharp and her skin takes on a reddish-orange tint. Her tail flame is a mixture of black and blue and so is her breathing flame
Attacks: Flamethrower, Slash, Dragon Rage, Double Team, Heat Wave
Pokemon Owned: Nightshade (male Kadabra), Orion (male Scizor)
    Relations: Open to anything
    Other: None

    Name: Aries
    Species: Umbreon
    Gender: Male
Personality: Pretty much what you except from a normal Umbreon. He's a fighter but he's level-headed and thinks before he attacks too quickly. He likes to have fun when not in imminent though so he's not a stick-in-the-mud all the time
Appearance: He's normal except his eyes are an icy, bright blue
    Crystal: Lunar Crystal
Attacks: Psychic, Faint Attack, Bite, Confuse Ray, Iron Tail
    Other: None

    Kaia Harrington - Flame Crystal
    ---------------------
"Thank you for coming. I thought these Pokemon were going to drive my team insane," Prof. Fossil told the congregation of us standing around.
I had a strong urge to say that they weren't anything special but someone else got to it before me.
"These Pokemon can’t be that strong. It’s not like they’re a bunch of legendaries."
"No, but they’re surprisingly intelligent. You should try to find them before they strike again."
And with that, the professor walked away and everything went their separate ways. I shrugged my shoulders and went into one of the many tunnels that was open for exploration. I released Nightshade and watched his spoon light up and illuminate an otherwise incredibly dark tunnel.
"Well, this is an adventure," I muttered dryly, which garnered a slow nod from Nightshade.
I almost had thoughts about going back home and training to take over grandfather's spot but I had to shake it off. How could I take over an ice gym when I didn't even like almost every ice Pokemon in existence? Aside from Glalie and Sneasel (and Articuno but who could find one of those?), not one ice type gained my respect. Maybe I could persuade grandfather and the Pokemon League council to let me run the first multi-type gym. That would make it a lot harder for those traveling trainers to beat me then.
    "Kadabra!" Nightshade said firmly.
Lost in my own thoughts, I didn't even notice my own Pokemon stop in his tracks, scared witless. Bowling into him, I knocked the physically weak down to the ground and thrashed around till he finally had enough sense to teleport from beneath me.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I grumbled and turned to face him, who was standing behind me and pointing forward with that stupid freaked look still plastered on his face. Looking ahead, I gasped as I stared into the eyes of the most gorgeous Umbreon I've ever seen. I mean, he looked normal enough except that his eyes were like my birth stone except much brighter. He stared at me for a minute before scraping something into the dirt. I had no idea what he was doing until he made a coherent English word. Instead of asking, I waited until he was done with his message.
You are in danger, human. Let me lead you to a safer place instead of this current location.
Good god, Fossil was right, I thought to myself in amazement.
"You sure you won't screw me over?" I asked aloud.
The Umbreon shook his head and started to lead me down a right fork in the tunnel, which I had no idea existed until he started walking ahead. I recalled Nightshade (who was still in a shocked state) and put my trust in the strange Pokemon. I didn't know why but I had a feeling that he wouldn't lead me astray.

Her first is a tight fitting longsleeve white shirt, with a dark red diamond-shaped collar, and a matching ruby red skirt that goes down to her knees, and a simple pair of tennis shoes. Her other outfit is a formal white blouse, that has a long v-neck were a dark red undershirt sticks out, it also consists of very loose fitting red pants, that are made to look like a long dress when she wears them. She also wears a faded tan knapsack around her shoulder which holds her possesions.
    Crystal: Draco
Hybrid Appearance: Part-flygon. Her hair becomes yellow-green. A long green spike comes out of the top of her forehead, but is a little shorter then one that would be on a flygon. She gains flygon wings, and a tail. Her body in general is somewhat more stream-lined. Her eyes are still the fiery amber color, but there is a certain ruby metallic hue to them. She still wears her two outfits, though she has to find special ways of getting them to fit.

Pokemon Owned: Darias (Salamence, Male) Nagi (Fearow, Female) Lina (Sneasel, Female)
    Relations: none, open
    Other: *destroys other* the end

    Name:Naomi
    Species:Flygon
    Gender:Female
Personality:She is very loyal, and alert. She never trusts anyone at first glance. She wold do anything to protect those she loves, and if that means sacraficing her own life she would do it. She never gives up, and that is her greatest strength.
Appearance: She is crimson instead of light green. The edges of her wings are jagged looking, and curved up.
    Crystal: Draco
Attacks: Dragon rage, Earthquake, Slash, Fly, Sandstorm
Other:It has returned, we must make an angry mob!

    ..::Kaida Ryuu-Draco Crystal::..

"Finally we're here" I muttered looking ahead at the archeaological site, "But look we're late. Darias grunted and continued walking forward down the path, I rocked back and forth on his back.

"Snea?" Lina inquired tugging lightly at my blouse. I turned around to see the wide eyes staring back, she wrapped her long arms around my waist as she bobbed up and down with me in the momentum of Darias.

"Do not worry Lina, even though Darias has caused us to be late that doesn't mean we won't get our chance to search through the ruins. And I won't let you fall off either." I tapped her shoulder tentatively and she nodded. A loud screech from above warned me of Nagi's decent. She landed lightly at the place where Darias's long neck met his body and sat perched there.

"FEAROOOH!" She cawed spreading her wings out and lifting her head to the sky.

"What is it Nagi?" I said trying to calm down Nagi who flapped her wings in panic, staring towards the large jagged place that was the ruins. Still struggling to hold the struggling fearow, I squinted out at the hill, at first I saw nothing. But it was soon clear what I saw, a glimmer, a bright star of red light and the light seemed to vibrate so fast, that the top of the ruins looked almost as though they were vibrating. The light then quickly dissapeared into the mountain, I stared out solemnley, I wasn't certain but I had the feeling that was what I was looking for.

"Darias, up!" Darias snorted before crouching down and then pushing off, and in timing Lina lept off and landed on the back of Nagi who swept off to catch her.

I wrapped my arms tightly onto the smooth neck of Darias, he bellowed loudly before darting forward. Nagi flew directly behind him and with the wind resistance blocked by Darias she was easily able to keep up with him. And so that was how they were trained, and that is why it came to them as instinct. The speed at which we approached was breathtaking, the many lose articles of clothing fluttered behind me in the wind. The strong wingbeats of Darias echoed with the occasional sequence of fluttering wing from behind. We were but a streak in the sky, and as we approached the side of the ruin, Darias slowly made his decent. Angling himself diagonally to the ground bofre falling to all fores once more. Nagi landed silently on her perch. And Lina on hers, for even before the mind could have concieved it their seperation was in perfect syncronization as they landed on target.

I slid off Darias's back to look at where we had landed, it seemed as though we were on a small ridge at the side of the ruins. From first appearance it seemed ordinary. But in hopes that I could remain independent for at least my arrival I nodded to Darias who knew what to do.

He slid his hind legs back, sending small pebbles tumbling down the edge, his next arch back, his stance stiffened. Then he lurched forward immediatley shattering the cliff wall and sending even more shards of the cliff face down to the ground below.

At first I expected that we would have to go for another round of making our own entrance, but I was completley surprised when I discovered that inside was a long tunnel. Though it was narrow, it only appeared to be to thin to walk in because of the long arching ceiling. I quickly reached into my bag and searched through it, quickly pulling out my flashlight and pointing it ahead of me. As soon as the narrow hallway was flooded with light the brilliant flash of red rippled in the darkness before dissapearing into the darkness.

"Quickly!" I shouted running down the hallway. Nagi immediatley took to the air and Darias lifted me up with his head and I slid into place on his back as he ran down the hallway. Lina, who was the fastest, went forward. I struggled to hold tthe beam of ligt stationary as Darias ran. But the only traces of the swift Lina as she ran were the flashes of color that sparked before dissapearing forward. It was not long before she was far ahead of us, but I could still hear the light clicks of her claws against the hard stone walls. But when that suddenly stopped I knew she must have reached her destination and I tossed the flashlight to Nagi, who grabbed it in midairand showered light down the hallway.

The faint sillouhette of Lina stood, a small shadow in the faint light from the flashlght. But suddenly the sparkling flash of red descended upon her. It slammed down upon the crippled frame of Lina. The defiant shriek that filled the tunnel could be described as no less than an arrow peircing through my soul. IT was the thread that held together the balance between life and death. And it made my blood run thin.

"Lina!" I screamed, no longer could I see her but a small heap of black on the ground. Darias roared, a mighty sound that made the walls of solid stone themselves shake. And I was not surprised, for I was lost in the same blind fury. And Darias crashed through the hallway, the walls shaking as though they would collapse. But nothing ment more to us now then Lina.

I bent low against the tough body of Darias as he shattered through the sharp edges of the narrow pass through which Lina had been attacked. He cried out in pain but only for his own fear for Lina's safety. Nagi landed switly on him, for almost immediatley the winds in the room had suddenly picked up speed, sharp chips of rock cut my face and blinded me. But even the sharp needles flying into my face wouldn't stop me from reaching Lina. Raising my arms over my face, I edged forward, not wholey sure if I was going the right way, but I had to I had to find Lina.

At my resistance the winds picked up speed, asuddenly becoming a furios storm, my feet slid back, but I pushed forward and the storm pushed harder but I didn't stop. And neither did it. It was so hard ow, I couldn't even bring my foot forward, my feet slid I cried out in alarm as I was swept back, zooming towards the jagged ashen walls that glowed like crystal through the many stained stone arches blocking out sunlight but lapsing it to it's will. ANd my mind was lost because I knew there was no hope, the whole world was now slower, I aw Lina laying there, through the storm and she was all that mattered. I would die but then she would to, because of me. I couldn't let that happen

"NO!" I screamed as I hurtled towards the wall. Only to be snatched up like being suddenly ripped from reality. And I looked up to see Nagi and Darias, Darias stared at me hanging onto his neck. And I nodded, I understood. I pulled myself forward, holding mself tightly to the thick neck of Darais, and I reached up adn brough Nagi to my side, she wrapped one of her large wings around me, sheilding me from the storm. And Darias began to push forward.

It was a tough battle against the whipping sand and wind. I still had no idea how this was happening, what could be causing this? I struggled to open my eyes which were sealed tightly by sand in my eyes. But shaking it I squinted through the wings of Nagi and out into the rage, and I stared not at it. But at it as a whole. And I saw it, the red shining shape. But it was no longer a blur. I now saw it, it was a pokemon. The dragon, flygon. But it was like no flygon I had ever encountered, it's skin shone a darkest ruby. Like the deep longing red of a sunset, it stared at me, it's great wings beating beyond the sight of eye and yet then I heard it. The soft notes that emerged through the harsh winds. It was so clear and crisp now, I did more then hear it, I saw it, I felt it, I tasted it. I lived it. IT was a mellow song of sad notes reaching out to me, and I listened intently and though it was still but a cluster of haunting songs I gasped as they fit together like a lost echo. And they formed words to me, but so long as though singing, but a song like the notes became the words and the chorus of wind fed it along. And it was a blur of context beyond imagination, beyond anything I had felt. The vibrations flowed thorugh my body and they became my own thoughts that echoed like the many splashes of water in a rainstorm.

Human, why do you break into this place? You must leave, you can't stay. Get out, get out, you have no idea what you are meddling with. Leave now. You have no power, you are nothing so leave and never return."

I grew angry at the voive. It treated me as though I was nothing and it was to shallow to see what I was trying to do. I felt nothing but anger, it was in my way and I wasn't going to let it get away with that.

"I WON'T LEAVE! I AM NOT GOING TO GIVE UP AND I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK SO GET AWAY FROM ME AND MY FRIENDS, MY FAMILY. DON'T GET IN MY WAY!"

And Darias and NAgi both cried out with such ferocity that the wind withdrew for a moment, and whirled lazily at the ceiling as though waiting to figure out what had just happened.

"Lina!" I jumped from Darias and ran to Lina, she lay in a crippled state, opening her eyes wearily and lifting her arm which was covered in scratches. She breathed so harshley, I cried. I didn't want to lose her, she couldn't leave me. Now tears fell down my face, I lifted the injured sneasel to my chest and held her so tightly that even as the winds seemed to now uneasily return I didn't even bring my attention to them. And I came to Darias and went on his back adn the harsh winds campletley settled, and all that remained was the light breeze warning that it could return, but lacking the steps to reach it.

"Lina, I am so sorry," I whispered into her tattered ear, I stroked her soft pelt, now tangled with clumps of sand and dried blood, "IT will be okay, I promise, I will not let you go. Just hold on."

The wounded pokemon blinked wearily, her head rested upon my chest. And I didn't look up when the light sound of the flygon landing filled the room. And then the song came again, the voice more gentle. And so faint I could barely decipher it and yet the vibrations were clear enough that I knew what they were and they echoed eternally.

"You are not trying to escape my deadly storm, you and your pokemon risk your lives for one another with no worry for yourself, but only the force to continue to protect them... And I did not see that before. I give my apologies."

I was out of the blinding sands now I realised that hte oice was caused when the flygon flapped it's wings. And I had before heard a flygon's song, but never the haunting melody like this, and never the words that had made my blood turn to ice.

"You are far more then what I expected, and I wish... that many of the other humans I have encountered possesed what you have shown to me. Please follow me away from this place, for it is in tune with the vibrations of many a fate so we must leave here. Follow me"

The flygon flew forward, slowy as we followed it down the tunnels. The haunting melody following it, not the words now, but the sad song that was like the night itself. And it echoed around the hallways as we followed, creating it's own symphony of this place...

phew, that was long. Open for interaction if anyone feels like it.

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Caleb Marsh/Shadow Crystal
    ------------------------------------------------------

Caleb stared at the girl awkwardly, unsure how to respond. She had just come along and thrust herself into his battle without hesitation and without asking. He was quite upset and quite unable to say anything about it.
"Caleb," he finally answered her implied question of his name. "And......and th-th-this is m-m-m-"
He stuttered at her nervously, unable to form the words he was looking for. He wanted to shout that this was his battle and he didn't want anyone to interfere with it. There were a few problems with that though. First, she was obviously much more confident and aggressive than himself. Second, she did make an effort to be polite about things. Third, she was a she which made Caleb even more timid. Girls were often worse than bullies so he was scared to risk saying much of anything. A loud boom brought his mind back to focus as he realized the gengar had not paused to contemplate the new developments.
"Cutter, keep dodging and try to tackle it," Caleb shouted with the utter confidence he had completely lacked when trying to address Willow. "My battle."
Although he couldn't turn to tell this girl to her face he did manage to say it while he was in the thick of the fight. Things were always much more clear to him in the middle of a pokemon battle.
Much as he'd anticipated the gengar continued getting closer to Cutter as it attacked. As soon as it had the chance Cutter leapt at the gengar trying to tackle it. The gengar simply phased out to let Cutter pass through it but before it could Caleb saw the opportunity he had wanted.
    "Faint Attack, now!" Caleb shouted.
The gengar didn't have time to react as it was already prepared for a physical attack. The faint attack hit home as Cutter slammed through the phased gengar and it was sent flying back. It phased back in just in time to crack loudly into the huge ornate door. Caleb and Cutter acted quickly while the gengar was momentarily stunned.
"Quickly, while it's stunned, Irontail!!" Caleb roared with sudden enthusiasm.
Before the gengar was back on its feet Cutter came about, his tail glowing brigghtly. He swiped sideways and slammed it into the gengar, pushing it even harder against the ornate door. So hard that the resulting sound thundered and echoed down the cave. So hard, in fact, that the very door cracked under the power of the attack. It still stood but a large crack now ran the entire height of the door, letting out an eery dark glow.
"Cutter," Caleb shouted for his absol to get clear as he threw out a pokeball.
It clicked as it hit the gengar and the ghost pokemon disappeared in a flash of red light. The pokeball rumbled in place on the ground. It shook violently for a second, the red light still glowing signalling the gengar was not yet caught. Caleb thought for sure the gengar would burst free any second to resume the battle but it did not. After nearly a minute of rolling about it came to a stop. As Caleb went over to retrieve it he noticed something unusual. Although the pokeball had stopped moving, the capture light had not yet gone out. It was still lit signalling that the gengar was still able to break free should it choose to.
"Wow. That was a great battle," Willow said from behind him.
Caleb startled and nearly fell over in surprise. He had almost completely forgot she was there.
"Than....." he began to thank her before he remembered he was upset at her for trying to interfere. "It w-w-w-was my b-battle."
Caleb stared at Willow for a second, trying to be defiant and brave. He shifted nercously and posture slumped however. He couldn't even keep eye contact for more than a second. Instead, he bowed his head and took a couple of steps back, almost as if he were afraid of her. He tried to look up to see what she was doing but he couldn't bring himself to do it. Girls were almost as bad as bullies afterall. Most of them were nice for a little while but in the end his experience taught him that none of them truly cared. At least, none of them ever cared about him.

"Sorry... I had no right to just jump into your battle like that... Force of habit..." I said quietly, uncertain why Caleb couldn't keep eye contact with me. An awkward silence followed my attempt of an apology until Ditto finally decided to transform back into its original state.
I sighed, took out my sketch book and began drawing Caleb's Absol, Cutter. Caleb finally looked up.
"W-w-what are you drawing?" He asked, slowly making his way over.
"Cutter," I said simply as I drew Cutter’s face and expression.
He stood behind and watched me for a while. I think Cutter seemed to know I was drawing him because he stayed very still and if he did move he went back to almost the same position.
I finished, ripped it out my book, scribbled something at the bottom and held it out to Caleb, "For you."
He stood there shocked for a second, but took it all the same. He studied it for a while. "T-t-t-thank you," He stuttered, keeping eye contact for about two seconds and smiling slightly.
I smiled back; it was good to know my art was appreciated by someone. I looked over at the crack in the huge stone door. It looked a lot bigger than it did when Gengar first hit it…
"Is it just me, or is that crack in the door getting bigger?" I asked, watching it in slight horror.

Both I and Ninetales had tensed every muscle in our beings. This Pidgeot was strong, and very fast. At least, it seemed so to me. I didn't know whether Ninetales was tense because she was ready to move at any second, or because of the fear she had shown before. Maybe it was both.

A small white blur shot past us nearby. I blinked. Had I just seen that, or was I imagining things...? Whatever it was, it wasn't a Pidgeot. It was too small. Either that or that thing we were fighting was way too fast.

A few stones clattered and Ninetales was instantly using Flamethrower. I froze, unable to move for a bit while my heart got used to freezing for half a second. I let out a small relieved sigh as I noticed it wasn't the Pidgeot, but a Mightyena. And its dark-haired trainer. Who did not look very happy. Oh, geeze...

"What the hell was that for!?" Yeah, I'm gonna be in a bit of trouble for this one...

"Sorry to intrude on your little hunting expedition, but did you see an evil-looking Persian, definitely some twisted kind of vampire, has blue eyes and about this size?" I blinked. Wow, he got his temper in check quickly...

    "..."

Without realizing it, I found myself sweatdropping. Evil-looking Persian? Twisted vampire? Blue eyes? This guy must really have it out for one of the Pokemon in the caves.

"I saw something going in that direction," I pointed, "but I'm not sure if it was a Persian or wha-AH!" I let out a yell as our little friend the Pidgeot forced his way back into our minds again; using a vicious Wing Attack on Ninetales. Ignoring the other trainer and focusing on the battle at hand, I quickly called out Lapras. He gave a little yawn, and whined at not being called out into water. I ignored his protests of hunger. "Ice beam!"

    Imani -- Shock Crystal

"We saw an Ampharos. Does that qualify as a rare Pokemon?" I asked the eager trainer.

"Toto dile dile!" the messenger bag-wearing Totodile behind her shouted.

The girl growled. "I told you to leave me alone!"

I blinked. "You mean, it's not yours?"

"No! I was looking for one of those rare intelligent Pokemon and instead bumped into this squirt!" She jabbed a finger at the Totodile, who just laughed. The girl sighed in defeat. "My name's Ashley."

"My name's Imani. This is...what's up, Masashi?" I noticed that he was staring through the cleared rubble.

"There's a battle going on the other side," he said in a monotone voice, his eyes still looking through the cracks. "I think some guy captured one of those smart Pokemon. I'm guessing it was a Gengar."

Ashley slapped her forehead. "Oh man, I'm missing out on the action!" The Totodile groaned.

Some more of the rubble cleared, revealing two more trainers and the door. The door had a crack in it, and it was getting bigger. "That's it! I'm out of here!" I shot up and started to run, but crashed into the Ampharos as soon as I passed Ashley. With the Ampharos was an Espeon. "What is going on?" I asked them. "That door is cracking up!" I felt that feeling get stronger.

The Ampharos took one look at the door and started to panic. So did the Espeon and the Totodile. "Okay, they definitely know something we don't," Masashi said nervously.

I took steps back as more cracks appeared in the door. My legs were confused on whether to run away or stay and wait what happens. The door crumbled to dust and the corridor immediately sank into darkness. The Ampharos's tail glowed. "What just happened?"

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Kaia - Flame Crystal
    ---------------
I started to grow impatient as we continued along the damp corridor. I was starting to freeze to death and it looked like we weren't going to arrive anytime soon due to the Umbreon's casual stroll. I wanted to know what was going on and I wanted them now, damnit!
"Ok!" I stomped my foot on the ground. "First of all, where are you taking me? I'm trusting a blue eyed Umbreon for god know's what reason and for all I know, you could be leading me into a trap! You could possibly belong to someone else and just lead me into a pitfall to steal all my Pokemon or something. I thought I was here to train a bit and possibly gain a new addition to my team but nooooooo, I'm standing here like a fool and questioning my own sanity. Did you even realize that people were sent here to get rid of you and your oddball friends even though we don't even know why you're in here in the first place?!?"
Rings pulsating steadily, his passive eyes stared me down until I could stand it no more and looked away. Making a noise that I thought was a snort, he started to paw words into the ground when his ears perked up and shot backwards.
"Let me guess, you heard a rock. Well, there's a lot of rocks around here, buddy."
He gave me a darting glare before running off in the direction of the sound.
    "Hey c'mon, I was only joking...wait up!"
I started to run after him but after half a minute, I realized it wasn't any easy task. That one was in his prime and it appeared he trained constantly until it showed, which unfortunately was now.
"Damn Umbreon," I wheezed and rushed to keep up with him.

Man, these archaeologists have been really thorough with their work, I gulped and looked around at the carefully dug tunnels while unsuccessfully trying to keep up.
Five minutes later, I was almost on the verge of quitting and slowed down considerably enough to lose my sight on the Umbreon, although the dying light provided the way to let me navigate the tunnels without getting lost forever. In that last minute, I was unaware of the growing light and the sounds of human and Pokemon voices alike.
"Man, I really have to listen more and stop being oblivious to everything," I muttered and jogged a bit more to get to my supposed destination a bit better.
It wasn't long before I arrived and my jaw dropped at the odd scene. A Ninetales and Lapras were battling an out of control Pidgeot while an Ampharos was staring down the long corridor with people from the group and more Pokemon standing around it, looking bewildered and frightened. And right in front of me was the Umbreon, who, unlike his previous persona, was also scared and nervous.
"What the hell is going on?" I said aloud and hoped for some kind of response.

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Deuse Thespian|M|Plain Crystal
    Ezra|M|Plain Crystal|Guardian
"Curiouser and curiouser." (Ezra's opinion. Not Deuse's)
    -----------------

As if a singularly homicidal Persian wasn't enough, now there had to be a singularly ballistic Pidgeot, as well. Deuse mentally cursed the gods, the Persian, the Pidgeot, the blameless trainer and her Ninetales, the Digletts, and eventually got to mentally cursing everyone else as well including himself for being so shortsighted as to get conned by a bunch of scientists. He was about to leave the Pidgeot to her (because he had often tried to help other people in such cases and gotten a rebuff for being nosy and spoiling their battle, even if they had been about to lose), until flying fragments of ice almost beheaded him, and probably would have if Ishtar hadn't shoved him to the side.

(what had happened was this. the lapras's ice beam was spot on target. there was no way the pidgeot could have avoided becoming a solidified, bird-shaped block of ice. in fact, it had been almost unfair that the whirlwind that it whipped up had shattered the ice and sent it in deuse's general direction, obviously intending to stay alive and kill someone else in the same move. so unfair. intelligent pokemon without trainers: the bane of the aspiring capturer's life.)

That's two times already that I've avoided certain death by means of elemental attacks today, thought Deuse as he got to his feet. I'm definitely going for the record.

The Persian, otherwise known as The Evil Twisted Vampire Cat Thingy, slunk out from the shadows and clawed down Piero's pokeball from Deuse's belt, releasing the Jolteon. Deuse, sensing this golden opportunity to murder it in a suitably horrible way and thereafter end his torturous tour of the caverns, grabbed it by the neck. It smirked at him and raised a calm paw in the direction of the Pidgeot, who was sending more ice fragments their way, and occasional embers as the other trainer's injured Ninetales tried to help its comrade. It was becoming increasingly hard to dodge.

Deuse looked at the Persian and the Persian looked at him, and then their gazes fell upon Piero, who now held the dubious honour of being the only electric pokemon in the immediate vicinity. He immediately tried to hide behind Ishtar, who unfeelingly nudged him in the direction of the raging battle.

I don't wanna die, you don't wanna die, and I'm pretty sure Ishtar doesn't wanna die, so in light of our predicament, I'm being forced to intervene in a battle that is, technically, none of my business. I'm so sorry, Miss Owner-of-Lapras-and-Ninetales.

"Piero, Thunder!" The Jolteon unwillingly released a large amount of electricity from his spikes, aimed toward the Pidgeot. The blinding flash made it impossible to see the outcome of the move.

This state of affairs was followed, about point five seconds later, by someone saying, unceremoniously, "What the hell is going on?"

"What the hell is going on?" Asked a confused trainer as she walked toward us.
No one said anything. I turned toward Ditto and Girafarig to find they weren't there and that Bayleef had taken their place.
I sighed, she looked just as scared as the other pokemon. The crack grew. It was almost as though it was about to burst. Bayleef ran out infront of the confused trainers and pokemon and began writing in the dirt.
    "R-U-N. Run?"
"Bay!" She said, trying to run through the trainers and pulling me with her.
"No... We'll stay..." I said, taking her vine from my hand.
"Bay!" She said again, trying again to take me with her, a tear slowly dripping down from her bright blue eyes.
"It's okay. I'm sure there's nothing in there that we can't take on." I said, looking around at the other trainers.
She stopped, looked at me with some sence of pride and stood by my side.
    The door burst open.
The thick stone that the door was made of flew at us. The trainers ran for cover of the explosion. The pokemon found or caught in the cave stayed where they were and broke up the rocks with various attacks. Dust and smoke filled the tunnel causing most to cough and splutter.
The dust settled eventually. I looked up. There was a cracking sound from inside the chamber that was now open. The other trainers looked up quickly at the sound. A phoenix shaped something appeared. It must of been a pokemon. It looked a lot like Moltres but... it's fire wasn't a bright glowing red, it was black. It's eyes were red though, deep red. An evil looking deep red. Nobody said anything but the silence was broken by the bird's shrilling scream. I winced at the high pitched cry. The pokemon were yelling at it and then us, as if we'd been wrong. I took my gaze away from it for a second and looked at one of the rocks that had flown at us...
    ...The Unowns...
I took out my sketch book and flicked through until i came to the page where i'd sketched the door. I read it slowly.
    "Beware, leave this place;
the Dark Phoenix is sealed in this chamber.
Open it and he will be released
to bring the darkness back from the war..."
I looked up again, it was glaring at me. This was a time that i'd normally laugh nervously and edge away. I couldn't. It looked toward the ceiling, shot what would look like fire from a Moltres's mouth at it and flew away into the night.

Would've replied to this earlier, but my Dad hogs the Internet... >_<

    ------------------
    Ashley/Terra Crystal------------------

I stared at the pile of rubble as the pokemon around us all became more and more frantic. The cracks in the door seemed to be multiplying, and the Totodile next to me jumped into my arms. I jumped back a bit in suprise.

"Ahh! What?! Why are you all so scared? I think this is exciting!" I said, my attention once again turning to the cracking door.

Wartortle clutched my leg a little tighter. He didn't like all of this, and just wanted to go back to Violet City, where things were never an adventure...

The door suddenly broke apart, as a girl and a Bayleef ran past us and back again. I watched excitedly when the dark room revealed a huge bird-like pokemon thing. It looked kinda like the legendary Ho-oh, but like if Ho-oh had turned evil or something. I blinked.

"Why'd I forget to buy one of those disposable cameras...?" I mumbled, Totodile watching me.

He looked up at me, a saddness filling his eyes. As if he were sorry that any of this were happening... I stared back for a moment, then realized that Wartortle was still out.

"Wartortle? Are you okay?" I asked, as the dark bird let out a horrible cry.

Totodile jumped out of my arms, and began to give the bird an angry look. The other pokemon from the cave did the same, some even yelling at the bird.

I patted Wartortle on the head. "It'll be okay buddy... If you don't like it here then... I guess we don't have to stay..." I said quietly. Even though I was reckless at times, no adventure was worth my friendship with Wartortle.

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Imani -- Shock Crystal

The black feathers, the red eyes, the evil aura...

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" I yelled out loud. "It was like the dark side of Ho-oh or something!" I noticed that I was holding onto the Ampharos during the whole episode.

"We just released the Dark Phoenix," a girl whispered.

My heart sank into my stomach. "The what?"

She showed me the sketchbook. "This is what I saw on the door."

I read it and shivered. "Oh boy, it's The Mummy all over again." I looked back and felt the Ampharos nudge me harder and harder. The Espeon was tugging on Masashi's pants. I got up and looked down at the Ampharos. "What do you want now?"

It walked toward the doorway that was once evil and pointed to it. "You're not telling me that you want us to go through there! I'm not going to!" The Ampharos sparked angrily and shot the ground at my feet. "Then again, let's go!" We followed the Pokemon through the door. What we saw shocked us as much as the Dark Phoenix.

In the center of the room floated small yet beautiful crystals, each a different color. The Ampharos pointed to a shocking yellow crystal. Feeling a strange pull toward the crystal, I stepped forward and touched it. A bright light flashed, and the crystals shot off and started bouncing off the walls.

"What in the world is happening now?" I yelled, ready to run out of the room.

    OOC: Hello? Where is everybody?

    Imani – Shock Crystal

This is a dream. None of this happened. This is a…

“AAH! There’s glass stuck in my hand!” I yelled. I looked closer and saw that it was half of the yellow crystal that the Ampharos went to. So where was the other half?

The Ampharos approached me and showed me her arm, the other half of the crystal stuck in it. She smiled and opened her mouth. “Can you hear me now?”

“AAH! You can talk!” I scooted back a little, my mouth hanging open.

“Good! Although I have always been able to talk. You just are able to understand me. My name’s Beacon and I’m your guardian.”

I calmed down a little, accepting the fact that this wasn’t a dream and that I should stop screaming. “You’re my guardian. Why do I need a guardian?”

“We have released the Dark Phoenix. If we don’t stop him, the world will once again be war-ridden and chaotic. We are the only ones that can defeat him.”

Well, this sound like so many movies and books. “Look, I’m no Harry Potter. I’m not even much of a fist fighter. What can I do?” I felt a tug at my butt. “Would you stop pulling on my clothes?” I asked without looking back.

“It’s not your clothes, Imani. It’s a tail,” I heard Masashi say. I picked up the “string” and waved the long, flat, lightning bolt end of it. I didn’t know what to do. “And that’s not all.” He reached up and touched some unknown part of my body that was sticking out of my head. I brought out a mirror and checked out two Raichu ears. My real ears were gone. On top of that, my cheeks had some color. The weird thing was that it was a yellow color.

“Oh man. I turned into a Raichu,” I said in the mirror, watching my new pointy canines. If I turned into a Pokemon, I was scared to look at everyone else.

    Kaia - Flame Crystal
    ---------------
I fidgeted as we all stared into the chamber, which was starting to make a crackling noise. I was on the verge of getting the heck out of here but something was keeping me rooted to my spot. The noise grew louder and louder until we saw a black/red outline. Looking more closely, I found it to resemble a Moltres, but rather evil due to its look and nature. It gave a shrill scream before disappearing altogether. Deathly scared, I was wondering what it was until someone commented, "the Dark Phoenix."
"Dark Phoenix? What is that?" I quietly questioned aloud.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find an answer as the Umbreon nudged my leg rather hard. I looked down to find a message in the dirt.
    Enter the chamber.
"You're kidding," I frowned at him. "Why would I want to go in there?"
He stared at me long and hard until I couldn't take it anymore.
"Ok, fine..." I muttered and walked forward to enter the room.
To my utter surprise, I found small crystals of different colors floating around the room, all in easy-to-reach but different locations. Something about the red one caught my eye. Red was far from my favorite color but it was somehow alluring and before I knew it, I was standing in front of the ruby like jewel. Sticking my hand out, I slowly grasped the crystal and felt a burning sensation before light engulfed my sight. After a minute of consistent rubbing, I could finally see again and looked down at my supposed companion.
    "So, what now?"
    "Look at yourself."
I stared at the Umbreon for a bit before speaking again.
    "Did you just talk?"
"How observant of you. My name is Aries and I'm your guardian. We're here to stop the Dark Phoenix before he brings chaos and detroys the world. That flame you grabbed was the flame crystal. Although you would think that a fire Pokemon would be your guardian, I of course am not. I have the lunar crystal since I'm a dark type and as you can see, it's placed in the middle of the ring right above my eyes."
Looking a bit closer, I could indeed see the dark crystal right in the center, light glinting off of it.
"Well, this is definitely a surpise. Where is my crystal?"
    "Look for yourself," he replied.
I looked down at my arms to see the flame crystal imbedded in the palm of my left hand and skin color changed to a light red. Another noticable change were my nails, which morphed into sharp, deadly claws. Checking my legs to see if it affected my whole body, I lifted a pant leg up and saw the same rusty red as on my hands and arms.
"I look like a tomato," I complained. "Anything else I should know about."
Aries shook his head in exhasperation but lifted a paw up and pointed at my back. Twisting my head, I cried out as I saw a long, red and cream stocky tail protruding from my behind, the tail flame crinkling slightly. Amazingly enough though, it was black and blue, unlike it's usual red and orange form. It still had the same effect though, which was lighting up an area for full view. And checking to make sure, I put my arms behind my back and found leathery, folded wings greeting my touch.
"A Charizard," I muttered and shook my head in disbelief.
"Believe me, you're in for much more than you think."

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    Sorry, I'm back now! ^^

    ------------------
    Ashley/Terra Crystal
    ------------------

Once the bird had flown off into the sky, or wherever... the room began to glow a rainbow of colors... After the colors flew around me closer, I noticed that they were actually crystalline pieces.

"What the...?" I said aloud, suddenly realizing that if I was going to leave, my last chance just probably went by... I clutched Wartortle tightly in fear.

"Tor..." he gasped, staring at the show of colored crystals.

I gave him a sideways glance, "I'm n... not afraid!"

I stared at a light brown crystal that had been floating near me for a few seconds. There was just something about it that caught my eye; that made me feel as if it were something bigger than just an odd glowing crystal...

"Wartortle!" yelled my pokemon, pointing toward a sprinting tiny blue lizard.

"Toto... dile?" I said slowly, wondering where it was going for a moment.

"It doesn't matter," I said coldly, "Who cares where that annoying pokemon went to..."

I looked back to the crystal, its bright aura so enchanting... I reached out, Wartortle pulled me back, fearful of what would happen to me, but it was too late.

My index finger lightly touched the glowing rock, and suddenly I felt a hot piercing feeling. I pulled back my hand quickly, my face beginning to frown. But as I pulled my hand back, a bright light formed around Wartortle and I.

"Ow! Stupid thing!" I spat at it.

    "WARTOR??!" screamed Wartortle fearfully.

At first I thought he was afraid of the light that had enveloped the two of us, but the light had vanished as quickly as it came, and Wartortle was still fearful looking...

"What?" I said in a gruff voice, unlike my usual self.

"You... you... your...!" he replied, shaking like a leaf.

"I'm a wha... wait! Did you just talk?!" I yelled, feeling a surge of energy. Could I understand pokemon? What a great gift!

"Of course," said a small and squeaky voice.

Wartortle and I both turned around.

It was the Totodile. I glared at him.

"Alright mister smarty-pants! What's going on here? Why can I understand you; and what's wrong with my voice!" I growled angrily. And I really did growl too...

"My name is Chaco. I am your personal guardian. And you, my friend, have been fused with the body of a Tyranitar. Look at yourself; aren't you a cutie!" he said sarcastically, winking at me.

"Okay..." I said, still utterly confused. I took a look at myself... a large, thick, forest green tail with spikes at the end was sticking out my bottom... and spikes of the same color paved their way down my back... my belly had a gray-blue armor plating of some kind... I felt the top of my head, and not to my surprise, there were three points... my tongue could trace the contours of two large fangs at the front of my mouth... and although I couldn't see them, my eyes had turned into a fearless red color...

I found myself suddenly laughing, "This is SO COOL!"

    Wartortle sighed, "Oh man..."

Totodile cleared his squeaky throat. "Ah-hem! This is important! I am your all-powerful guardian, and I wield the Aqua Crystal! You, Ashley, wield the Terra Crystal. I think we should give the other kids a few moments to adjust, and then regroup and come up with a plan against the Dark Phoenix..." he said pompously. His ego was obviously larger than a Snorlax.

Who was this little Totodile to be pushing me around?!

Gomen na, but studying for Chemistry and Physics tests is very stressing and torturous~ ><;; *just flunked both of them today... and has more on Monday*
    ----------------
    Deuse Thespian|M|Plain Crystal
    Ezra|M|Plain Crystal|Guardian
    "Wstfgl?"
    ------------------------

There was a large, evil-looking bird. Deuse found himself marveling at the sheer evilness of the aura that it gave off. There was no way you could mistake this phoenix for one of the firey good-willed birds that lived in an imaginary kingdom over the sea and far away. It couldn't have communicated its purpose better if it had had the word 'evil' written in large letters all over it.

Evil bird thing? All right, time for me to piss off. I've had enough for one day.

Deuse would have walked away. In fact, he turned back with all intentions of walking away. It wasn't his fault that the damned Persian took a flying tackle at him, and they both crashed into the chamber. He fumbled for a while for a handhold, and grabbed...

...A crystal. The crystal. It was a very ordinary-looking crystal, but it was the crystal, with italics, nonetheless. This, as he would learn shortly, was a bad move.

Approximately a lifetime and many dancing white lights in front of eyes later, Deuse found himself listening to many different voices making their opinions heard. That was perfectly fine. What wasn't fine was that it was mostly Pokemon that were.. speaking. A Totodile somewhere was praising itself in highly pompous tones, and some other Pokemon seemed to be telling a story about a Dark Phoenix to... people with bits of pokemon fused onto their bodies?

And then he saw his tail. It was no ordinary bushy Eevee tail. For a start, it was his.

The corner of Deuse's eye twitched convulsively. He wasn't sure if he should hyperventilate, scream, or act calm and collected. On the basis that it couldn't hurt to hyperventilate once in a while, he was going to start when he reached up to his head and felt two furry Eevee ears. His canines were elongated, as well (like a vampire's thought deuse), and to make things possibly worse, he had the hints of a magnificent cream-coloured ruff around his neck. The crystal had dug itself into his shoulderblade, exactly where the Persian had raked him with its claws not two hours before.

"My word. That is a marked improvement," remarked the Persian snarkily from his perch on a ledge directly above Deuse.

Deuse was suddenly enlightened to a fact that he should have commented upon earlier but hadn't. "Excuse me...? You can talk?"

"Naturally, as everyone can, in their own different languages," deadpanned the Persian, examining its perfectly buffed claws, "but in this case, it is Asmodeus Thespian that has learned to listen. My name is Ezra. As it is, it appears that I am your guardian. The Dark Phoenix, your condition and your crystal are part of a very long story that you will presently hear retold if you happen to use your new ears in the general area of one of the more helpful guardians. Have you any more queries to make of me?"

Deuse's lips moved slowly, parsing the Persian's name. Ezra? That means.. 'help'? Of all the paradoxical names...

"Have I ever told you that you are the most self-effacing, annoying arse of a ca- GAH!!!!!" This last was uttered as Piero jumped him, cannonballing into the middle of his chest and pinning him to the ground. Ezra smirked, and Deuse noticed the other half of his crystal embedded in the midst of the ruby on the cat's forehead. Ishtar rolled her eyes some distance away.

"Boss! You're so cute!" said Piero happily. "Are you sure you're not a girl?!"

Ishtar drawled, in her silken voice, "On the other hand, you might just be queer. Or maybe you get turned on by half-humans."

"BUT WHY EEVEE?!?!" Deuse wanted to know. "There are LOTS of other more useful and stronger normal pokemon around!"

"I guess it's just your luck," said Ezra insinuatingly, his smirk widening as Deuse tried to reach for his neck and failed.

*bows* Sorry, evil homework projects and stuffs.
    ~|~|~|~|~
    Kayla Kaze

My luck with birds today seemed to be increasing. Not. The first Pokemon of worth I find is this ballistic Pidgeot, and then there's this giant... dark bird... thingie. I didn't know. How was I supposed to describe it? It was a cross between a Ho-oh, a Moltres, and the darkness of every dark Pokemon in the world, times three. Plus two. Divide the sqare root and... ah, screw it. It was big. It was bad. It was firey-like. It was a bird.

Ignoring every part of my judgement screaming at me to run away, run away now, and get the hell as far away as humanly possible, I entered the cavern where the bird came from. A strange glint caught my eye. And another. And another. And a whole rainbowed mess of glints. The concept suddenly clicked in my head that there were crystals in this room, all floating, all glowing different colors. I did not understand the workings behind the floating-ness of them, but I accepted that the fact they floated.

For some reason, I became oddly attracted to this one crystal. It was a very light blue color, and I could make out slightly my reflection in it. For a few moments, I just stared at it, trying to figure out why it was floating. How. Or whatever I could. Of course, I wasn't even sure if it existed. Now wouldn't that be fun if it didn't? So, there's only one way to test that. Slowly, I reached out and tapped the crystal. Brilliant move.

A bright light enveloped me, cutting off my senses. For a few seconds, all I could do was blink and try to make out something. White. White. More white. Not much to see. White. Yay.

The lights dimmed, and I found myself back in the cavern. Weird. A clicking sounded next to me, and I turned in the direction it came from. After a second to let everything process, I fell backwards, with a nice little cry something to the nature of: "MAD PIDGEOT!!!"

Soon after contact with the ground I felt something different. Turning around, I spotted a white sliver on the ground. Connected to my butt. "How long have I had a tail?" I reached out to try and pull it, see if it was really connected or just someone's joke. That's when I saw my... arms. "How long have I had wings?"

Uh-oh. Psycho Pidgeot walking up to me. Not good not good. Wonder when I'll wake up?

"Hello. My name's Kaze no Koio. Sorry about attacking you like that before, but I just didn't want that to happen." He indicated in the direction that the dark bird thing had flown in. Or, he indicated as well as a Pidgeot could. Wait a second... "How long have you been able to talk?"

Imani and Beacon -- Shock Crystal

"Well, it can't be that bad," I said calmly while I played with my tail.

"Speak for yourself," Masashi groaned as he checked out his new Espeon form. The Espeon giggled as Masashi tugged on his new ears.

"So you knew that this chamber would be opened?" I asked Beacon.

She nodded slowly. "The other guardians and I tried to stop this from happening, but I guess that there was no avoiding prophecy."

I looked around at the other guardians. It seemed that a Persian was driving his partner insane. "What's gong on over there?" I yelled at the two.

The Persian merely smiled and jumped down from the perch. "Just a little friendly conversation, dear," it said. He bared his fangs at me and looked at me like I was his next meal.

"Ezra, now is not the time!" Beacon yelled. "The last thing we need to do is to make these humans feel worse than they already are!"

His name's Ezra!?! "What is this guy doing with a name taken out of the Holy Bible? He sorta looks lake a vampire with that look." I shivered at the thought of Ezra biting my neck while I was asleep.

"Can we please change guardians? Or crystals? Or both?" Eevee Boy pleaded.

I shook my head furiously. "So, any idea where the Dark Phoenix is going?"

    "No."

"Well, we'll just have to wait until we hear news of this."

    ~~Willow~~
I stared at the others in amazement. They'd all changed! They all looked like pokemon...
Bayleef pushed me forward toward some crystals. One of them caught my eye. It was a very icey blue with a snow flake engraved into it. I reached out and grabbed it. Biggest mistake of my life? Maybe...
My vision was blocked with a bright white light. The last thing i remember seeing was that same snowflake. I opened my eyes again and looked around. The others were talking to their pokemon. I could understand their pokemon!
I rubbed eye with one hand. It was painful... I looked at that hand. I saw a claw with a small amount of blood. I looked at the other, another claw. My shoes had fallen apart and in theirn place my feet looked also like claws.
"Okay... What am i?" i asked no one in particular.
"You look like a Sneasel. 'bout time you touched it... I was waiting." Said Bayleef. Hold on... She spoke?
    "You can talk?" I asked.
"Yes, i've always been able to talk. Pokemon aren't that stupid... I'm your guardian, my name's Choriko." She said, happily.
"Umm... Hi?" Said Charmander, looking utterly confused, "Where's Willow?"
"It's me! I'm Willow!" I said, walking over to Charmander.
"You're sooooo cute!" She said, hugging me. "You have such pretty Sneasel ears!"
I reached up to the top of my head. Sure enough, i had Sneasel ears.
"You have the ice crystal," Informed Choriko, "but i don't get it... Why are you a dark type?"
"Sneasel's half dark and half ice... OW! Charmander!" I yelled.
"I'm not doing anything... I think you have a tail..." She said.
I turned around, there was a little pink something coming from my jeans. I ripped a hole in my jeans with my claws and threaded the tail through. It was more than one though, like a Sneasels'.
Great... Not only was the dark pheonix released but i had to morph into half a Sneasel... Great...

    Deuse Thespian|M|Plain Crystal
    Ezra|M|Plain Crystal|Guardian
    "...Help."
    -------------------

"Are you kidding? This cat IS a vampire!"

The Raichu girl shrugged. "Well, we'll just have to wait until we hear news of this."

Stress and a long day made Deuse more voluble. "No, I don't want to wait, I've already had a very very bad day, and I would like to go home if I had a home, which I don't, and sleep it all off, which I can't, and-" Deuse looked down at his tail, against which Piero was rubbing himself in a mildly disturbing way. He kicked his Jolteon off none too gently. "Could you stop doing that!"

Ezra curled his own tail round himself, yawning. "Are you on heat?"

"NO! I'm MALE! MALE!!!!!" By now, it could be safely said that Deuse was hysterical, something he wasn't very often.

    "Interesting."

The Ampharos had by now assumed a very serious expression and was glaring sternly, or trying to glare sternly, at Ezra. "You should be trying to reassure him and inform him of the situation!"

"Try to see it from my point of view, Miss Beacon. He seems intelligent enough to know that this predicament is an extremely taxing one. I do not see the use of me telling him more when it would only make him more annoyed than he already is."

"But you're already doing that just by being yourself."

"That's true." Ezra stretched languorously. "Deary deary me."

"Don't you even think that it's vital that we should try to find out where the dark phoenix is going?" huffed Beacon, probably disgusted at her erstwhile colleague's apathy.

"No, because I know where it's going."

    "Where?! Where?"

"Oh, somewhere to wreak havoc and destruction, I'm sure," replied Ezra diffidently. Beacon sweatdropped and fell over.

Caleb watched the giant door as the crack he had accidentally caused continued to grow, spilling eery dark light into the cavern. His mind was screaming at him to run away but his feet were glued in place out of shock. As much as he was afraid of whatever was behind that door, something inside him knew he was destined to pass through it.
A few of the other trainers made a vain attempt at running from the impending disaster but Caleb just stood dumbly in place, his heart nearly pounding out of his chest. As the crack spread through the entire door a loud thundering bang could be heard. The door shattered outward entirely. The other trainers ducked and dove for cover but Caleb remained perfectly still, frozen with fear. Before he was aware of what happened a glowing chunk of the door slammed him in the chest, knocking him clear back against the far wall a good twenty feet.
As Caleb struggled to get back to his feet to see what was going on he clutched at his chest. There was a burning sensation where the black glowing piece of the door had hit him like fire and needles. He looked about quickly for signs of the piece that had struck him so he could examine it but it was nowhere to be found, as if it had evaporated.
He stumbled upward, looking towards the now exposed chamber. He strained his eyes to see what was beyond but could only make out a dark and fiery blur. His vision seemed skewed and his eyes burnt horribly with the same feeling as his chest. He tripped forward several steps, making his way towards the foggy dark light ahead of him. He heard a huge explosion and the dark fiery blur quickly disappeared upwards. The foggy dark light was just as quickly replaced by a dim glowing rainbow.
Unable to see where he was going he carefully walked forward. As he approached the dim rainbow he lost his footing over a rock he had not been able to see. He found himself umbling forward until he felt his head crack upon something hard. Everything seemed to go purple. He reached up to his forehead and barely managed to feel a piece of something before it seemingly disappeared beneath his skin. Suddenly he was overtaken by a new painful sensation as his entire body jolted like an electric shock had been sent through it. He collapsed to the ground with the pain and he felt sure he had blacked out.
When he finally endeavored to open his eyes several minutes later he felt a fresh rush of fear. His sight had finally returned but there was something terribly wrong with it. Everything seemed to be coated in a light violet haze, like he was wearing purple tinted sunglasses. He reached his hands up to rub the haze out of his eyes but reeled backwards fearfully as they came into sight. What he saw before him were not his hands but sickly darkish claws like the melding of a gengar's paw and the grim reaper's boney talons.
He backed away in terror until he found his back against a wall, staring at the monstrous claw before him. Terrified and nearly demented by pain and fear, he balled up and tried tucking his head into his arms so that he may rock in place. His hands recoiled as they touched his head however as they felt spiky protrusions. He forced himself to reach back up and he traced his new claws along his hair; formerly straight and tied back neatly, now an array of jet black spikes that trailed almost halfway down his back. His discoveries did not end there as he also felt his ears. They were tilted back slightly and elongated much like those of a gengar.
"no........." he chirped weakly, beginning to rock in place. "NO!!" he shouted, clearly starting to lose his grip on reality.
In a fit of terror and anger he got up and looked around. He noticed that he was not the only one who looked different. Every trainer present seemed to have been fused with one pokemon or another. It was quite too much for him to handle.
"NOooo!" he screamed one last time before he began to run.
He managed to just get clear of the chamber and emerge back in the cavern when some unseen force halted him. He tried taking a step forward but was yanked backwards, falling on his butt. He turned around to see what had grabbed him and saw the gengar he had just captured staring at him with a sad expression.
"I knew this would happen. That's why I had to attack you. To keep you out of this chamber. You weren't ready for this," the gengar said plainly.
"You.......you can talk?!" Caleb sniveled as he curled back into his ball.
The unreality of seeing a pokemon speak calmed him very quickly. It reminded him how impossible everything that had just happened was. If the pokemon could talk this obviously had to be some sort of weird dream. He must've gotten hit by a falling rock or something when part of the cavern had collapsed. He must be out cold and dreaming.
"I wish it was only a dream for it is truthfully a nightmare become real. You have freed the dark phoenix and now, you and your fellow chosen trainers must find a way to destroy it with the help of us guardians," the gengar answered solemnly as if it had been reading Caleb's every thought. "I suppose introductions are in order. I am Palin, your guardian. I believe you are Caleb? And I have already met Cutter."
The gengar began rubbing its sore back as it nodded towards Caleb's absol. Caleb spun to see Cutter stroll up next to him. It nudged him with its head to show encouragement and then sat down, waiting for him to get up.
"I think he's telling the truth, master. If there was no truth to his story than why would you resemble his twin?" Cutter whispered quietly at him in an awkward cross between a hiss and a purr which was his way of expressing seriousness while trying to be warm and calming.
"Cutter.......you're speaking English?!" Caleb suddenly stood, dumbfounded.
"No master, I am speaking as I always have. It is you who are understanding pokespeak," Cutter replied carefully.
Cutter rubbed agains his hip like a cat would to try and cheer up its owner. Caleb looked at Cutter and lightly scratched him behind the ears. Cutter's words assured him he was not going insane. Caleb looked around at the other freakish trainers and let out a long deep sigh. Now he knew why he was drawn to this chamber. Now he knew what had driven him onward despite his mounting fears. He was meant to enter this chamber and he was destined to recieve the amethyst crystal which had sunken into his forehead. Now he just needed to figure out what to do with his new destiny.

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

Imani and Beacon -- Shock Crystal

"I know one way." I pulled out my weather radio. "If there's something freaky going on, they'll be broadcasting it." I turned it on and tuned into the station in Goldenrod.

"This is Stormy Weather at Ecruteak City, where a gigantic yet unknown flying Pokemon is destroying everything in sight. The bird arrived here ten minutes ago and immediately started demolishing everything and everyone in the city, starting with the Ecruteak Gym."

"Oh man, Morty must be pissed. Oh well, we know where it is. Let's go!" I yawned deeply and started packing my stuff.

"It seems that the bird is leaving now," the weather radio continued. Everyone groaned. "It's taking off and heading west."

"Now how did that reporter stay alive?" I wondered out loud.

    "Probably hid somewhere," Deuse said.

I clicked off the radio. "That's it! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm too tired to go after that overgrown evil Pidgey anyway! Let's just camp here for the night and hope that Johto is still there in the morning!"

"No! We should still go after it while it's still out and about!" Beacon shouted out suddenly. "The Dark Phoenix is a hater of light. It will disappear at sunrise and continue when the sun goes down."

I sighed and stood up, my body starting to ache. "Okay, we should take Beacon's advice and go after the Dark Phoenix. Now, since it's going west and the closest city in that direction is Olivine, we should get there as quickly as possible. If anyone has a Pokemon they can ride there, do that. I'm pretty sure that at least one of us can fly without a Pokemon."

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

I'm soooo sorry I'm late, but like I said in the sign-up topic, Verizon shut off our Internet service and I couldn't get online. I hope I'm not too late!

    ~Name: Arnen Takenara
~Gender: Female (most would say she doesn't act like it)
    ~Age: 14
~Location: She just moved to Goldenrod from Lilycove.
~Personality: First off, know this: She doesn't care. She doesn't care what people think or say about her, and she doesn't really care how she looks unless she likes it. Fashion is nothing to her, just an idiotic and vain concept others obsess over. She doesn't care if someone insults her; she lets it bounce off. She's also very intelligent for her age, not in a booky kind of way, though she does carry a book in her pocket everywhere she goes. She is introverted, but opens up with her friends. She's got classy taste, obvious by her clothes, and is not easilly impressed by most things.
~Before Appearance: She has a pale complexion -- she doesn't get out much -- and her deep brown eyes contrast it prettilly. Her hair is also dark brown, and, like brown hair is, it looks black when it's damp. She wears a long-sleeved black velvet jacket that resembles and old-fashioned frock coat over a white lace-trimmed blouce; she lets the lace on the sleeves hang out of the coat. Her pants are black jeans, just plain black cargo jeans. She wears fur-lined boots even in warm weather. She doesn't need makeup, not that she even touches the stuff, because her face is zit-free.
    ~Crystal: Aqua
~Hybrid Appearance: She's half-Vaporeon. Her hair becomes an aqua-blue color, and her canines become long and sharp like fangs. A Vaporeon fin juts from the top of her skull, and a slight ride of fin goes down her spine, ending in a tail. Her skin has a slight color to it, and her eyes become dark blue. Her fingernails are longer and almost claw-like, and have a glassy look to them. The Aqua Crysta is in her forehead.
~Attacks: Surf, Bubble Beam (through her palms, not her mouth), Water Pulse, Acid Armor
~Pokemon Owned: Espeon (female, nicknamed Sakura), Golduck (male, nicknamed Kappa), Rapidash (female, nicknamed Hi no Kaze, or just Hikaze)
    ~Relations: None
    ~Other: Boo!

~Name: Chietsu (means "depths of the earth")
    ~Species: Sandslash
    ~Gender: Male
~Appearance: He's black instead of tan, with midnight-blue spines. His claws are siver, and his eyes are an eerie pale-blue color.
~Personality: He's quiet and lucid. He has a quick temper, but doesn't snap easilly. He tends not to take his anger out, though. He's very meditative. He's very wise, too, and steadfast in battle. He does tend to sort of go off into a daze from time to time, though. He's very honorable as well, and looks down on unscrupulous souls.
    ~Crystal: Terra
~Attacks: Earthquake, Dig, Slash, Rock Slide
    ~Other: *cuts other to ribbons*

    ~`~`Arnen~Aqua Crystal`~`~

I walked alone through the dark cave. It was indeed very, very dark, more so than night. Fortunately Hikaze's flames lit the path as I rode on her back.

After a while of nothing to see, and no sound but the steady clomp of Hikaze's hooves, the ground shook slightly, and a Sandslash dug its way to the surface. This was no normal Sandslash, it was black and midnight-blue. It glared at me with it's odd blue eyees, and began to write in the dirt. Strange, yes, but hadn't Prof. Fossil said these Pokemon were intelligent?

It had written a message, in neat, legible English:
Leave here now, human. It is not safe, for the Dark Phoenix may soon wake.

I blinked, bemused. Why didn't it want me to continue on? And what was the Dark Phoenix? "What do you mean?" I asked, though I didn't expect an answer. The Sandslash shook its head while pointing towards the end of the tunnel. I sighed. "I don't know what you mean, but I have to goon. The Prof.'s counting on me to do this." The Sandslash heaved a sigh, shaking its head again. I still couldn't tell what was wrong. I leapt of Hikaze's back, patting her quickly on the nose in thanks, and walked ver to the Sandslash. "What's so bad down there? That phoenix thing?" I asked, crouching down. It nodded. "If it's so dangerous, I think we should go check it out. Why don't you come with?" I stood up and got back on Hikaze, handing her an apple from my pocket as I did so. I pressed her sides lightly with my heels and we continued on down the tunnel. I noticed the Sandslash followed reluctantly, muttering to itself in Pokespeak.

The tunell finally converged into a large cavern. Many people and Pokemon crowded the place, some fighting, others just standing around. At one end was a large door with a steadilly growing crack. As soon as I stepped in it seemed, the crack finally overcame the door, and it broke into a dozen pieces on the floor.

A large flaming bird, like Moltres only with black flames and evil eyes, erupted from the hole that had been the door moments before. It screeched, torched the ceiling, and fled from the cavernous chamber. The Sansdslash was glaring at it all the while and when it was gone, began jumping up and down, poiting towards where the bird had come through. Hikaze was too scared to move, so I had no choice but to dismount and return her to her Pokeball, with an apple and a few reassuring pats. I followed the Sandslash into the smaller chamber, and saw that i had on the walls several crystals. Some of the Pokemon began to go berserk, attacking those crystals. The crystals broke, flying around the room. One, a teal one, hit me in the forehead, and I lost consciousness...
Yeah, I can break necks with my mind.

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

Although its already quite late in the RPG, would it be okay if I applied for a Late Star Up position, with my human as the Lunar Knight, and my pokemon as the Guardian of the Flame Crystal? I'd like to be involved in the RPG if I could, because it looks really intresting.

    Thankyou for your time.

    ~~Willow~~
"Olivine? That's my home town. If anyone can't fly, i know the quickest way by foot." I offered. Sure, i could fly on Dragonair, but she wouldn't be too keen on that...
    They nodded.
"The best way out is the same way the Dark Pheonix got out..." Said Choriko, looking upwards. "I can't get up there, mind. I'm not fast enough..."
I recalled her and Charmander hopped on my back. "Sneasel has a high speed rate..." I muttered before running toward the wall. I climbed up fastly with ease. I smelt smoke in the air and it was humid. I waited for the others.
    "Hey... What's that?"
I turned to the voice. It was two trainers.
    "A Sneasel."
    "I'm catching it!"
    Catching? It? ME??
"SNEA!" I yelled. They didn't understand what i was saying! I was speaking Pokespeak... The others joined me.
    "More pokemon... Lets get them!"
"I think now's the time we run..." I said quickly.

    ------------------
Ashley and Chaco/Terra and Aqua Crystal
    ------------------

"Run? Why? Let's just pound 'em for being stupid enough to think we're actually pokemon!" I suggested, punching my right hand into my left.

"Right..." said Chaco in a fake voice, nodding his head, "I mean, you don't look anything like a pokemon. Do you?" He finished, looking at me with a grin on his face.

I looked at my claws and tail. "Oh... that..." I paused, "I still say we pound 'em!"

The kids came closer to us, readying their pokeballs to throw.

"Let's get out of here!" said one of the others.

"Hey! I've got an idea! How about we use some of our own attacks against them? Not to hurt anything, but just to give us some time to run!" I suggested. Hey, it was a compromise, right?

I turned to one of the boys getting ready to release a pokemon.

"How about a little Rock Slide?!" I yelled to him, whipping my tail around a pile of rocks that was on the rocky ground. A slew of rocks flew at him and he yelled frantically. None of them touched him, but he sure was freaked out.

The others looked on as the other trainers still kept coming even though my Rock Slide had scared off the one boy...

    Default Pokemon: Crystal Storm STARTS!

    *dies* hate. physics.
    ------------
    Deuse Thespian|M|Plain Crystal
    Ezra|M|Guardian|Plain Crystal
"Anything that can go wrong, will."
    ------------------

"Okay, we should take Beacon's advice and go after the Dark Phoenix. Now, since it's going west and the closest city in that direction is Olivine, we should get there as quickly as possible. If anyone has a Pokemon they can ride there, do that. I'm pretty sure that at least one of us can fly without a Pokemon."

Deuse grumbled, "Of all the sodding things we could be doing at the moment, the worst one is that chase situation you just mentioned."

"I could not agree more, fair charge," said Ezra silkily, "but unfortunately, that is what we have to do. Even I, who follow no orders and abide by no rules, have a basic need to hang on to my life, and the best way to assure my survival in the long-term sense is to save the world, such as it is." He unsheathed his claws carelessly and moved dangerously near towards Deuse's ankle.

Thinking dark and terrible thoughts, Deuse returned Piero and Ishtar and released his Rapidash, Faust. It should be noted here that Faust was a very happy pokemon. He in no way resembled the gloomy necromancer he was named for, except possibly in gender. The light from his mane and tail immediately lighted up the cave.

"WoooooooooooooWWWWWwwwww!!!! You got a facelift, sir?!" he neighed, prancing around foalishly. "Excellent!!!"

Deuse winced and climbed up onto Faust's back. Anyone spending protracted periods of time around Faust, he could tell, would be eventually drowned in a sea of punctuation. He saw some others climbing up to the large hole the Dark Phoenix had left in the wall; he'd be damned if he'd try that without breaking his back in some horrible way. He'd go his own way, back through the tunnel... if Ezra would lead the way, that was.

He proceeded to direct a withering glare at the Persian.

Ezra saw the look Deuse was giving him, and said quickly, "Doubtless, I will show you the way out of these caverns."

    "Good."

    "There is one slight problem."

"What?" Deuse became monosyllabic again; a sure sign he was losing his temper.

Ezra raised his eyebrows, and pointed to the pokeball that had just hit Deuse on the back of the head. "That."

For some reason, possibly because they were totally blind, trainers were swarming the cavern, thinking that the half-humans were the intelligent pokemon they had been ordered to dispose of. Faust did a cheerful canter-on-the-spot. "Ooooohhhh sir may I burn them sir may I may I may I oohhhhhh sir!!!"

"No, you may not!" growled Deuse, thoroughly sick of the entire affair. "Just follow the cat and get us out of here! Anyone else who's unable to take this madness any more may follow!"

    "Aaaaaaauuuuooooowwwww sir!!!"

"NOW!" Deuse turned and bared his canine teeth at a girl that had come too close for comfort, just as Faust broke into a gallop and dashed out of the chamber at Ezra's heels.
