Which Pokemon learns this move besides Mawile & Breloom/Shroomish? Could anyone list them?

That sucks. No one with a decent Sp.Atk can utilize it.

    Thanks, though. 'Ppreciate it.

I'm sorry, but what are the effects of this attack (statistics, etc.)?

It greatly lowers the opponent's special defense. Same effect as metal sound but it has accuracy of 100 where metal sound has accuracy of 85. Metal sound has 40 pp though compared to fake tears' 20.

I think it's a deliberate design decision that only moderate SA pokémon learn this move.

At least Plusle and Shroomish/Breloom have decent STAB elemental attacks available. Plusle's SA isn't that bad, actually, especially considering it gets a boost in 2 vs 2 battles if teamed with Minun.

Plusle + Fake Tears + a couple of thunderbolts will deal with most non-ground opponents.

Fake Tears can be handy for Mawile, the pure Steel-type who learns Dark-type moves

True enough, but his low SA means you see the effect less dramatically than in Plusle. At least Plusle's raw Electric moves are dangerous to vulnerable opponents *without* needing to set it up with Fake Tears.

Eh, what's wrong with Fake Tears on Wigglytuff and Delcatty? Still works decent with their various special attacks that they can acquire.

Yeah, the others suck with it. But those two are okay 0_o

your breloom should never have fake tears, even plusle has better choices for filling up his moveset... neither should mawile... its just one of those moves thats just better off not being used

Only thing that can use fake tears is Jynx

And Jynx has better things to do besides Fake Tearing, like Perish Trapping.

Besides, almost nobody uses stat lowering moves because it's more effective for a Pokémon to use stat boosting moves on itself and wreak havoc with the opposing team. Not to mention that there's a lot of popular Pokémon that get Clear Body.
