    Default *Middle Earth Open Challenge: Bree* (Ref needed)

    Arena: Bree

    "Bree was the chief village of the Bree-land, a small inhabited region, like an island in the empty lands round about...Lying round Bree-hill and the villages was a small country of fields and tamed woodland only a few miles broad.

    The village of Bree had some hundred stone houses...nestling on the hillside with windows looking west. The gates were closed at nightfall, but just inside them were small lodges for the gatekeepers."

    - The Fellowship of the Ring

    The time of day is night and it is raining, but not too hardly.

    Pokemon: 2 vs. 2
    DQ: 5 days
    Ref: Needed
    Order: I send out, you attack
    Restrictions: No Rest, Substitute, Electric attacks, or Sunny Day.

    I'll send out Mechatron, my genderless Porygon2.

    Just caught this thread while randomly browsing ASB, forgot about it x-x
    Since the battle hadn't even started yet, I don't believe there was any DQ (even if there was I got it in 5 hours before! XD)
    Since my Dragonair currently isn't in a battle, I'll choose it to battle your Porygon.
    Alright, Dragonair- Start off with a Dragonbreath. After that, it should be paralyzed, so use Ice Beam. To finish off the round, simply use Twister and await the next round.

    It's okay! BTW, what's Dragonair's name/gender?

    All right, Mecha, Teleport away from Dragonbreath and reappear behind it. Then poison it with Toxic and use Blizzard to counter the Twister.

    Teleport - Toxic - Blizzard

    Round 1!
    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

    The battle starts off, Shiva the Dragonair rearing back and unleashing a massive circular wave of red energy right at Mechatron the Porygon2, who readily disappears in a flash, leaving a blurred image of itself to be annihalated by Shiva's attack. Shiva looks around, confused and startled. In it's haste, it didn't notice Porygon2 behind and slightly above her.
    Shiva still looks around, not thinking to look above her. Finally, she notices Porygon2, after Porygon2 creates a wall of poison in front of itself, and launches it at Dragonair, covering it and severely poisoning the poor Dragonair. Dragonair is now really frustrated, and unleashes a jagged white beam of ice energy, hitting Porygon2 head on and sending it flying, it's right leg partially frozen.
    Porygon2 still hovers in the air, and Dragonair creates a massive spinning column of blue and white wind, which takes an erratic path toward Porygon2, destroying houses as it goes along. The poor people of Bree have no idea what's happening, and they run like crazy. Porygon2 manages to counter by creating a massive storm of ice, snow, and wind. Both attacks hit their targets, sending them falling onto the ground, quite badly damaged.

    All right, good job Mecha! Now spread a blast of Icy Wind around to slow Shiva's movements. Then hit her with a double Ice Beam!

    Icy Wind - Ice Beam x2

    If she tries to dodge the beams, use Swift! If she tries to give you a bad status effect, dodge it with Agility. If she tries to protect herself, just relax.

    Alright Shiva. Good job.
    First, start off with a Substitute. This should be considered -protecting- yourself so you'll make Mecha fall into the trap of resting all three turns. Then, hit it with a Ice Beam, followed by Flamethrower. (freezer burn! =P)

    For the sake of being fair, I'm gonna say that Aragornbird meant that if u use Protect then Porygon2 should rest

    Pre round status:

    Aquatic Fury:
    Shiva the Dragonair
    HP: 75%
    Energy: 80%
    Status Effects: Badly poisoned

    Aragornbird:
    Mechatron the Porygon2

    Energy: 78%
    Status Effects: Fine

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
    Round 2
    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

    Shiva starts off the round, creating a weird doll-like Dragonair in front of her. After doing so, she becomes translucent and moves away, while Porygon2's attention is still on the Substitute. Porygon2 hovers, and creates a nice icy wind, which hits the substitute and sends it flying, but not broken yet.
    Meanwhile, Dragonair fires a jagged beam of white Ice energy, drilling Porygon2 into the ground. Porygon2 floats back into the air and fires an Ice Beam right at the substitute, which is now falling apart, frozen, barely alive.
    Shiva rears back and fires a stream of flames at Porygon2, who gets hit head on by them and burned slightly. Porygon2 retaliates, firing an Ice Beam at the substitute and destroys it completely.

    I don't exactly know why I'd take damage if I had a Substitute up, but fair enough.
    Alright. Good job, Shiva. Our plan worked.
    Since Mecha is now slightly burned, it should be a bit weaker and in a bit of pain.
    Slightly burned will be an understatement after this- Fire Blast. Then, use Twister, followed by Dragonbreath.
    If it tries to protect itself from the Twister or the Dragonbreath, simply relax.

    You need to sacrifice a bit of your health to use Subsitute.

    Okay, Mecha, fire attacks shouldn't be too hot in the rain, but whatever, make the Fire Blast weaker by blasting Blizzard in its direction and hopefully, you'll hit Shiva as well. Then Ice Beam and finally, dodge Dragonbreath with Agility.

    Blizzard - Ice Beam - Agility

    Status Effects: Slightly burned.

    =======================
    Round 3
    =======================

    Shiva the Dragonair hovers in the air, and opens it's mouth, launching a massive burst of fire and lava in the shape of the kanji symbol for "fire". The drizzle manages to dampen the fire blast, however, and Mechatron retaliates by using Blizzard, creating a storm of ice and snow. The massive wind and cold puts out the Fire Blast and does minor damage to Shiva.
    Shiva's annoyed, and begins spinning around angrily, creating a swirling twister, which moves right at Porygon2. Porygon2 gets hit by the attack, and sent falling to the ground, where it lands in an explosion of dust. Down but not out, Porygon2 gets back up and launches a fully powered Ice Beam at Shiva, who doesn't know what to do against this attack, and is hit head on, and partially freezing it.
    Shiva's partially frozen, but still manages to launch a swirling red blast from it's mouth. Porygon2 isn't phased, and disappears in a flash, leaving a blurred image of itself to be pulverized by dragonbreath. The real Porygon2 received no damage, and a boost in speed, but it loses some HP from it's burn. Shiva shudders as the poison damages it.

    Oh no you don't.
    First, Shiva, I want you to quickly get close to Mecha. Then, use a quick Flamethrower to warm yourself up as well as damage Mecha. Then, use Flamethrower yet again in the same position, warming yourself up, but make sure you don't damage yourself with your own Flamethrower.
    While he relaxes, immediately exploit his weakness by using a powerful Take Down.

    Round 4
    =====================
    Shiva the Dragonair flies back up into the air, recovered from the poisoning for now. Mechatron the Porygon2 starts out by creating a storm of wind and snow, swirling right at Shiva. Dragonair retaliates, firing a stream of fire right at Porygon2. The flamethrower rips right through the cold wind and snow, warming it up considerably and making the attack almost useless. The cold wind, however, completely extinguished the flamethrower as well.
    Mechatron, frustrated, launches another blizzard. Shiva once again launches a flamethrower. However, Mechatron was getting quite tired and it's blizzard was considerably weaker than the last one. Shiva's flamethrower negates the blizzard and still hits Mechatron for some damage.
    Porygon2, now exhausted, relaxes. Dragonair, seeing an oppertunity, flies right at Porygon2 with everything it has, sending the poor pokemon flying and then scraping along the dirt, leaving a long trail where Porygon2 slid. Dragonair once again shudders, the early toxic taking effect, while Porygon2 also loses some HP from it's burn.

    Superb, Shiva.
    Alright.. Now I will give you some precise instruction.
    If Porygon2 uses an Ice attack, use Flamethrower.
    If Porygon2 uses any other element of attack or a physical attack, use Ice Beam for the first turn.
    If it uses a Fire attack however use Thunderbolt.
    For your second move, inforce a Light Screen so you won't be so harshly damaged by the elemental attacks. However if it uses a physical attack when you inforce Light Screen, use Counter instead.
    To wrap up this round, inforce a Light Screen if you couldn't last round, but if you could use Icy Wind.

    Okay, Mecha, dodge whatever attack she throws at you with an Agility. Then Relax to restore some energy for your next move. Finally, use Recover AFTER you take damage from Icy Wind. Let Toxic do the damage this round.

    Round 5
    ==============
    Shiva the Dragonair starts off what could be the last round, launching an Ice Beam at Mechatron. Mechatron disappears in a blur and begins bouncing around the arena, appearing at seemingly random places. Shiva has no idea what to do.
    Shiva creates a barrier of light between herself and Mechatron. Mechatron does nothing, resting, regaining it's energy.
    Shiva creates a fierce freezing wind, which hits Mechatron head on, who braces for it but still takes the brunt of the attack. Mechatron then begins to glow, regaining HP. However, it also gets hurt from the burn so it doesn't regain too much. Shiva, in the meantime, shudders as the poison hurts it again.

    Great job, Mecha. Now Relax on the first turn to restore some lost energy. Dodge whatever attack she uses with Agility. If she uses Swift or some other super accurate attack, counter with Swift. If she does nothing to harm you, simply Relax again. Let Toxic finish her off this round.

    Helplessly try to protect yourself with Protect, and TRY to get in a Hyper Beam. If you can't that's fine.

    In what looks to be the last round, Shiva looks to be on the verge of collapsing. Mechatron relaxes, regaining lost energy. This angers Shiva, who creates a shield to protect herself, but it does nothing since Mechatron isn't doing anything.
    Shiva uses protect once again, but Mechatron just relaxes, regaining more energy.
    Shiva, even more tired than before, desperately launches a Hyper Beam, which Mechatron tries to dodge with Agility, but being told to just wait out the round, it can't get out of the way fast enough and the attack pulverizes Mechatron, who also shudders from it's burn. Shiva, however, collapses, the poison finally defeating her.

    Alright. Cool, aragornbird. =)
    Since it's not currently in a battle..
    I choose my Mantine, Leviathan!

    Alright Leviathan. You're against a really tired Pokemon so by now you should be able to defeat it easily. Start off with an Ice Beam. If that doesn't work, use Icy Wind. If none of that works simply use Hydro Pump >>; If Ice Beam works on the first try then relax the other two rounds (I think this is automatic)

    Alright, Mecha, you may be tired, but you're still very fast. Use your increased speed to your advantage and try as hard as you can to poison the Mantine with Toxic before you are knocked out. If by luck or fate you're still able to battle, just Psybeam away!

    That's all right, Mecha, you've done your job! Return!

    And now I choose Drogo, my male Delibird!
    Start off by closing your eyes as you prepare a Future Sight. Then make it Hail and finally, Swift!

    If he tries to give you any bad status effects, dodge it and attack with Quick Attack!

    Future Sight/Quick Attack - Hail/Quick Attack - Swift/Quick Attack

    Leviathan, hit it right in the face with an Ice Beam when it prepares Future Sight. Then, use Rain Dance when it uses Hail. Then shoot a Hydro Pump right at it to counter the Swift and to cause damage.

    Ice Beam~Rain Dance~Hydro Pump
    Note that Ice Beam does not count as trying to give him a bad status effect, it counts as damage to me

    Pre Round Status

    Drogo the Delibird
    HP: 100%
    Energy: 100%
    Status Effects: Fine

    Leviathan the Mantine
    HP: 98%
    Energy: 100%
    Status Effects: Badly poisoned

    =================
    Round 8
    =================

    Delibird starts off, closing it's eyes and focusing, foreseeing an attack on Mantine. Mantine sees an oppertunity, and launches an ice beam at Delibird, sending it flying from the direct hit.
    Delibird struggles to it's feet, while Mantine gathers rain clouds and causes it to rain. Delibird retaliates, cooling the air down and causing it to hail. The constant hail hurts Mantine.
    Mantine then rears back and launches two blasts of water at Delibird, who responds by launching a storm of star-shaped blasts at Mantine. Both attacks hit head on and both pokemon end the round on the ground, Mantine suffering more damage due to the hail and the poison

    ==================

    Drogo the Delibird
    HP: 76%
    Energy: 84%
    Status Effects: Fine

    Leviathan the Mantine
    HP: 70%
    Energy: 87%
    Status Effects: Badly Poisoned

    Hail for 2 more rounds

    Ack, Shiva. Not a good thing to be weakened more.

    We're gonna turn this battle around. First, start off with a Confuse Ray. Then, after is confused, use Toxic. If it tries to issue a Safeguard, use Ice Beam instead (on either of the moves).
    For your final move of the round, use Blizzard.

    Confuse Ray/Ice Beam~Toxic/Ice Beam~Blizzard

    Okay, Drogo, close your eyes quickly so that Confuse Ray won't affect you. Then dodge Toxic using Quick Attack and get in some damage as well. Finally, Fly upwards to avoid Blizzard and if you have time after Blizzard is over, use Fly to attack!

    Close eyes - Quick Attack - Fly

    ===============
    Round 9
    ===============

    Leviathan the Mantine starts off with a strange flash of blinding light, intended to confuse Delibird. Delibird readily closes it's eyes, and the flash doesn't do anything to it.
    Leviathan then spews globs of a very potent poison at Delibird, who disappears with a blur, dodging the Toxic, and appears above Mantine, slamming it into the ground.
    Delibird then begins to flap it's wings and jumps, flying high into the air. Leviathan tries to attack with Blizzard, blowing freezing winds at the soaring Delibird. Delibird flies above the clouds, but not before the Blizzard does some damage to it. Delibird then drops out of the clouds like a bullet, slamming into Leviathan. The hail then hits Mantine, and the poison does some more damage.

    =================

    Drogo the Delibird
    HP: 68%
    Energy: 65%
    Status Effects: Fine

    Leviathan the Mantine
    HP: 48%
    Energy: 73%
    Status Effects: Badly poisoned

    Hail for 1 more round

    Good job, Drogo! Now provoke the Mantine into a blind rage with Swagger. Then Quick Attack, making sure to dodge whatever attack he tries to use. If he uses a super accurate attack like Swift, then just Blizzard instead. If he uses Protect, simply Relax.

    Swagger - Quick Attack x2/Blizzard x2/Relax
