Raven
-----------------------------------
I walked down the hall, ready to draw my sword if anything attacked. There were no doors along the corridor and it seemed to go on forever. Then I saw two large, wooden doors in the distance. I ran towards them as fast as I could. I reached the doors and I burst through them. I was outside. Ahead of me, there was a stone bridge, going over a courtyard, which seemed deserted. It was calm and there didn’t seem to be any monsters around. I looked across the bridge to see what appeared to be a chapel on the other side. I walked across the bridge, looking around in case something leaped out of nowhere and attacked. I walked up to the large doors and pushed through them. Inside the chapel, it was completely white. The pews were all lined up and there was an alter at the front. It was peaceful, a bit too peaceful.
Something’s not right about this place.
I then saw it. Above the alter was a giant cross and nailed on it was the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. It’s body looked frail and its skin was pale and covered with spider veins. Its right arm was large and bloated while its left was shrivelled up with an extremely large claw. Large, mouldy-green arteries stuck out of its body. Its head resembling a skull. Above the cross was a gold plaque, which read, “Lament”.
“That must be it,” I said. I looked at the plaque.
So your name’s Lament huh? Well I guess it doesn’t really matter.
It seemed dead, so there wasn’t anything to worry about. Then I remembered about Remic and that girl.
I’ve got to find something to get them outta that room. Maybe there’s something here.
I looked around when I heard something. It was coming from the cross. I thought it was just my imagination when it stirred. I guess it wasn’t dead. Lament’s head turned and stared right at me, its eyes like fire. It let out a piercing screech. With all its might, it wrenched its arms and legs off of the cross, leaving behind the flesh that was nailed down. It fell to the floor with a thud. Its body was hunched over like a gorilla’s. Lament then glared right at me and let out another screech.
“Oh ****!!!”
